I put mobile synethic in my bike at the last oil change and with the Bubs with no baffle in them I have not noticed any additional whine. LOL.

I have one (just two burner, no griddle) and it works great. It will burn a long time with a full tank. They are just as effective as a gas stove at home.

Working on a Friend's Bike - Need Help - Honda Magna 700
tim44 replied to RedRider's topic in Watering Hole
I used to have a Magna and a Sabre. The web site Sabmag.org has all kinds of info on these Hondas. The little I remember would only get me in trouble or you in trouble since you are working on it. Those bikes gum up pretty quickly and need carbs cleaned if they sit very long without a fuel additive. There are screws on the carbs you have to remove and screw in an adapter for your hoses for sync. -
I will take a set if I may.

It is best to use a wrench a couple sizes bigger. Hope this helps. Hope this is a link that works.

I also have a question for the more knowledgeable folks. The front tires I have replaced usually have some cupping on them. If you put a longer lasting tire on the front wouldn't you end up the same issue and tread left as well?

I just put a federal tire on my bike. Sunday I took it for a longer ride (250 miles). So far I am happy with the tire. The bike felt fine at highway speeds and did great in the mountain roads. There are two things I have noticed so far. The first is sometimes it feels like the bike tracks funny. You know the feeling when you have a worn out tire and the bike follows the ruts in the road. This may be an air pressure issue. The second thing is when I lean the bike in hard corners there is the feeling of the bike "rolling" after a certain point of lean. I am not sure how to explain the rolling feeling. I still felt confident in the bike it was just different then a m/c tire. Even in the twisties I felt like the bike was gripping the road just fine. I did notice that the bike handles better at slow speed with the c/t. Overall I am happy.

Wild Hair, Good thing you didn't get hurt. I just put a federal on my bike. I can relate to your frustration. What a pain in the a** to mount. I wonder if the chinese have changed the tire slightly. I had to use over 110 psi to get it to pop into place. Has anyone else needed that kind of pressure?

Yesterday I put on a federal c/t on my bike. I went for a 40 mile ride and so far so good.

Well there is one more c/t on a bike. Mine. I put the federal tire on today. I went for a ride after getting it all back together and so far I am happy with the tire. I had to use darn near a 120 psi to get the tire to finally pop in place. Talk about pucker facter. The tire cost me $50 with shipping. I took the tire to discount tire and had it siped before I put it on. Has any one else done this to there c/t?

First of all Thanks for serving. My bike is an 04 so I can't help you with the parts. I have a little bit of mechanical aptitude so if you need help just ask. The only thing I can think of different than has already been said is that make sure the orings you get are viton. They will hold up to gasoline.

Maintenance NIGHTMARE
tim44 replied to NV_Trucker's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I know how frustrating intermittent problems can be. I had a 84 honda magna that had a problem with the spark control module. The bike ran great when first started but when it warmed up a little it would loose spark on two cylinders. It would run like a dog, of course, stalling and snorting. It sounded like the timing was way off. Usually it would begin to run just fine after it warmed up even more. I say all this to suggest maybe you have a similar problem. -
I would guess maybe Independence pass, but that would just be a guess.

I had a blast. Thanks guys for the ride. Thanks Dan for buying breakfast and beers. That sure is some pretty country we rode through today.

RSV trunk on Tour Delux
tim44 replied to Trimster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I fabed a braket to hold a trunk off of a 77 goldwing to fit on my 97 tour delux. I was planning on buying a trunk rack from a newer bike and making it work. Make a little nicer setup. I then sold the 97:95: :bawling:and bought a 94 goldwing:bang head:. One month later I bought a 2003 RSV:smile5:, now I have a trunk. I love my RSV, in my opinion a much nicer bike for two riders than the wing. This is not intended to be an insult to those wingers out there. -
I'd be more than happy to help you with your brakes. If you wanted to head this way, Colorado Springs area. I realize though that you were planning on going through the other side of Colorado. Just call if you come this way. Tim 719 201-6006
