If I remember correctly George, it seems he said the leak was around the Pinion and it was crushed requiring a replacement (rebuilt) rearend from Hannigan.
-
I had thought of that, but when I talked to John @ Hannigan, he said to take it to Hual's and that they did Great work. GWMyA@@

A few weeks ago I was on reserve when I pulled into a gas station. I filled up the aux tank first (inch or so below filler neck) and then filled up main tank. When I went back to put cap on aux tank it was overflowing gasoline. Is this a common occurence? The main tank is higher than the aux tank, backflow? If so, shouldn't there be a check valve or something in the fuel line from the aux tank? Just wondering...

The 08 RSV is gathering dust at the shop again!!! Took it in to Hual's Bikes to Trikes in Cantonment,Fl. on 3/3/11 for the Hannigan conversion that was supposedto be completed by Mid March. Due to ineptitude of the installer and a fire at the Hannigan facility, It was not completed (?) until 5/16/11 (10 weeks). A list of discrepancies was given to Hual's the following week (paint scratches, leaking rearend, misaligned floorboards and several other items). Hual's said they would get back to me after checking with Hannigan. After 7 weeks of no reponse I called Hual's who acted as if this was all news to them and obviously had not contacted Hannigan. On 8/5/11 I was able to take it back to Hual's for fixing. On 8/8 Hual's called and said the rearend needed replaced and that it would ship from Hannigan and I should be able to pick up by 8/13. Hual's called on 8/12 and said parts did not arrive, maybe next week. I called Hual's 8/22/ and was told the parts had just arrived but that they had "Other Committments" and wouldn't get to it for another week or so. So, They have had my money since 29 January. My bike 3/3 - 5/16 and now since 8/5 till ???. This makes 13 weeks that I have been without my bike, and 25 weeks that they have had my money. Somehow I think I have a right to be #)@@*! off. I wonder if Lemon Laws apply? lol

Kenny, A group of us came through your neck of the woods yesterday and stopped at Duval's for lunch. We were returning to Gulfport from ST Francesville and the annual re-enactment of 'The Day the War Stopped'. We've got the annual 'Fishing Rodeo' going on here the weekend of the 4 July, but we will make plans to give the fish a break and come to your place on the 2nd. Pls send PM with your GPS coordinates and address. I hope to get some help tuning the carbs. Will bring my Morgan kit if someone there will show me how to use it. C U then. Tommie T.

At least on mine, the foot fairing is close to the RSV foot board and the edge of the fairing is slightly higher and the finished edge turns inward at a 90deg making a nice trap for the welt of your boot when you're trying to raise your toe to get to the brake or shiftlever. Happened to me twice on the superslab riding the trike home from the dealer. Simple fix Hannigan,,, just roll the edges so they don't catch the footwear.

Made the journey to Pensacola Thursday and picked up the Trike. Was almost excited till I saw the many little things that will have to be made right. Been making up a list to send to the Installer and to Hannigan. Taking it over to a shop tomorrow for a roadworthiness/safety inspection. Found one design flaw that could make someone very rich if not very dead. Easy fix for the factory if they wish to do it. Hopefully I will soon gain some confidence in this trike and be able to enjoy it.

Wellll George,,, Going on 10 weeks without a bike, three months + since the $11k deposit. I think there are some folks that should take up tap-dancing rather than the business their in... IMHO!! Called first week of April, was told the kit should be to Huals mid April (sans floorboards). No one called by 18 April so I called, no kit, "Should be in by end of month". No word by 26 April so I called, kit had arrived but Huals would not start working on it till 6 May. WTFO!!! Called Hannigan on the 26th and talked to Andrew. Very 'apologetic'... Have heard nothing from either of the parties since. At this time you can figure if I'd ever do business, with or recommend either of these companies. In hindsight, I should not have paid that hefty 'deposit' until the kit had shipped, and not taken the bike apart and taken it over till the kit arrived. But that is what the shop wanted. Don't know if they replaced the saddlebag. Priced it,, $1240 plus tax. WOW. So, I hope business is picking up for you, trikes and 'puter's. Will let you know and post some pix when and if I get the 'Trike' back. 73's & 88's TTT

Tnx 4 the update George. Hope business picks up 4 U.

Called him after lunch today. Said he was calling Hannigan then and would call me back in a few minutes.... No call, no word. As a matter of fact he hasn't contacted me since he got the deposit and my bike. Customer service?? I'm beginning to think I should charge interest on that rather sizable 5 figure deposit I made a couple of months ago and charge rental for the past three weeks that they've had my RSV.. Can U tell I'm getting a bit peeved?? And how was your day George??
-
Haven't gotten any news yet George. Maybe by the end of the day.
-
Tnx 4 the update George. Will try 2 give u a jingle soon.
-
Tnx for the update George.. Kit was SUPPOSED to ship out March 8th, but I'd guess Daytona Bike Week got in the way?? With any luck, maybe it was in a different location for packing/shipping and not in the fire. Still miffed at dealer for not keeping me posted on installation progress/delays. Guess it's a good thing I called him. Gotta give condolences to the folks at the factory for their loss.

Well, so much for getting the 08 triked.... Ordered it in January, paid deposit and shipped side case(colormatch) to Hannigan in February, took bike to dealer in Florida 3 March, kitwas SUPPOSED to ship from Kentucky 8 March, called dealer to check on progress yesterday (3/16), and he told me the factory in KY had burned down along with my kit and sidecase. Could be months before the factory is up and running and can punch out another RSV kit. To add to the misfortune, I had stripped some of the addons from the rear of the bike that wouldn't be used on the trike and I had to trailer it to the dealer because it had recently picked up a screw in the rear tire. Sooo, 'To Trike or Not to Trike, That is the Question'. Okay, not quite Shakespeare.. Either way, The situation inhales with a vacum like force..

When I first asked the Authorized Dealer/Installer about the tank, he said they didn't make one for the RSV. After your reply I called him and told him that "indeed there is one available" He said he would call John @ Hannigan and have them put that in the order. Still looking at shipping date from Hannigan about 8 March. Thank's for the heads-up.

Hate to hear that. I would guess that it has a lot to do with insurance, and of course greed... We've lost several venues due to insurance premiums. Maybe consider coming on down to Lil' Sturgis here in the 'Hospitality State'. I believe it's held every October, or is it August?? Went a couple of years ago and had a good time. About 25 miles S.W. of Starkville.
-
Have made the deposit and sent the sidecase to Hannigan for color match(?). Should have the 08 RSV triked and back from 'Huals Bikes to Trikes' in Cantonement, Fl. by late March. The only down side is that I won't have it in time to ride with the Shriners in the Mardi Gras parades down here along the coast. That being said,,, I will have a lot of parts for sale. I will list them in the Classified section when conversion is done.
-
Been looking around the web for an RSV Trike and found one at a 'Trike" store in Lake Alfred, Fl. 15k miles on bike, 2 owners, new Hannigan conversion, $20k. Anyone know the history on this bike?
-
Okay there you of the three wheel world. I'm going to get the 08 RSV triked real soon and the nearest Hannigan installers are 'Hual's in Cantonment Fl. and G.N. Gonzales in Baton Rogue. Anyone had any dealings with either of them??? Good/Bad/Great??? 'preciate any input.

Similar experience with both satellite companies. They promise local channels but never deliver... so,,, hooked up the 'puter to the TV, put up the rabbit ears for the 2 local stations, and have been happy ever since. If I want local ABC or FOX news/programming switch to rabbit ears. If I want SOA or other series/specials, I go online to the network websites/hulu etc. My favorite site however is eztv.it , it has programs for download from the U.S. and all over the world.

I've been looking at the Shark and Scorpion Line. Scorpion modular is interesting but a bit tinny plus you'd have to carry the parts with you. I like the full flip up and over feature of the Shark but it is pricey. The Scorpion runs about $280 and the Shark in the upper $3's. Good Luck.

Great gathering in Gautier last Saturday for the yearly CMA sponsored 'Blessing of the Bikes' Local media estimated about 1000 bikes showed up. I counted 5 other Ventures in the crowd. Sadly wasn't able to find the owners before they rode off. On a side note the local multi brand stealership has a new 2010 Venture on the floor listing at $19,600.00 Only difference I see is the flame decals on the fairing, tank, bags. Anyone in the area interested, we're doing a ride to Camp Shelby (Hattiesburg) Armed Forces Museum tomorrow, 3/27. Will be there about 1030 or so.

Kirby, I've been looking into the Shark FlipUp/modular and the Scorpion FlipUp. Haven't decided yet. Shark is pretty $$$. I like the Shark design of the chinbar rotating to the back of the helmet.

Was on an evening dinner ride with a bunch of Goldwingers on Hwy 90 in Biloxi awhile back. One of them had the blue lights underneath and blue 'Ring of Fire' on the wheels. One of the local LEO's tore after us almost causing several wrecks and gave the rider a ticket for the 'Blue Lights'. The rider was a retired LEO at that.
