  1. Well John, as they say, "Misery Loves Company". Hopefully someone can share their technical experience and help us out. The Service Manual just isn't specific enough.
  2. Fired up the 08 RSV and found gasoline dripping down from above the choke assy (only when running). Can't tell exactly where from, but its up outta sight. Took off the tank, but cant get the cover of the Air Induction Box off (yes, screws removed). It pulls up some at the rear of boxes, but front won't come up. Afraid I'll break something if I pry too hard. Any suggestions 'O' Wise Ones? And when I get the Box opened, what should I be looking for?? Any help would be appreciated. 9/23- Got the AI Boxes off, didn't need to take their covers off after all, but there is a screw at the front of the boxes underneath that weren't visible. Can't tell where the gas is leaking from exactly, but appears to be from the front left carb. That's as far as my technical abilities can take me. Anyone in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area willing to take on the job of fixing this problem??
  3. I can totally relate to your predicament and reasoning to sell your Trike. I also have had to put my 2008 RSV/Hannigan w/Time-Out trailer and all accessories on the sales block for pretty much the same reasons. Sad to end an era, but necessary. Good Luck.
  4. just a few years ago the general consensus on this site regarding oil filters was that the Purolator PL14610 was among the top picks. Is that still the case or did I miss something?
  5. 9/5/16 @ 1100hrs. Lowest in Gulfport, Mississippi area; $1.90 at Sams Club. Most other stations $1.95-$1.97. Thunderstorms all day. Biloxi Bike Bash probably be a wash out.
  6. Went to crank it up yesterday, but no-cranky.. Put it on charger low setting overnite, still no cranky. It was a Deka AGM I put in 5 1/2 years ago. Took it to Auto Zone, tested deader than dead. Bought new ETX20L from them ($99.00), dropped it in, and she fired right up. While surfing the web looking where to get a new Deka AGM, noticed that O'reillys and Auto Zone AGM batteries that were made the same place as Deka. So not concerned that there be quality difference due to store branding. Now I guess I'll be investing in a Battery tender/charger.
  7. Thanks Mike. 1200 lbs pretty much the consensus. " Leave Our Flags Alone "
  8. Thanks shipmate.. Kinda what I was figuring.
  9. Anyone have a fairly accurate weight of an RSV/Hannigan Trike? 2008RSV/2011Hannigan, EZ steer, Aux tank(empty), 1gl gas in main, no luggage/gear. I'm trying to figure out if I can trailer it behind the Brides new car and the max weight of the trailer w/trike loaded. 'preciate the info.. Limited to combined trlr/bike weight of 1700 lbs. is the reason I'm asking. 1200 lb. bike means I will probably need an aluminum trailer.
  10. Did you possibly mean 62" beam?? outside fender to fender is 62" on my 08 RSV/2011 Hannigan.. Length is about right.
  11. Ya'll going 'Camping' or 'Lodging'? Check out 'Trailers' in Classifeds.
  12. I have the Hannigan Aux fuel tank setup also. Don't know why the engine has to be running?? I always push the transfer button when I'm off road, engine off and ignition on, open up cap and watch fuel level in main tank. Position of petcock lever doesn't seem to be an issue. But then again, it depends on who your 'Installer' was. .
  13. When I was stationed in Taipei 74-76, they were still using the WW2 era Harleys the U.S. gave them. Wish I coulda got my hands on one of them to bring home. !!! Leave Our Flag Alone !!!
  14. This is our toy-hauler that we haul the 2008 RSV Hannigan w/easysteer. Fits just fine and tows well behind a 2014 Silveradi 1/2 ton. We use it as a camper mostly as its fully functional. BUT they don't make this model/Mfg anymore, it is a $35k 2007 Mdl. No problem with the ramp, if needed, raise the tongue fully and the ramp approach/hinge peak angle lessens. It is an R-vision 230FK. (23ft, Front kitchen). !!! Leave Our Flag ALONE !!!
  15. Thanks for the input folks, 'preciate ya'll. Got er done.. was able to loosen the inner fairing enough to install the risers, when I snugged it back down, the fairing was down tight on the risers. used a foam beer coozie (no panic, had another one handy so as not to interfere with my beer drinking), cut out a couple of squares of the foam rubber and wedged them up between the risers and fairing. Hopefully that keeps the fairing safe from cracking. Understood about the use of Flanders vice risers but at the time risers were the play of the day. Yep, lost some turning radius due to the risers hitting the ignition key casing. Lesson learned for those who have the Hannigan easy-steer,, don't go the riser extension route as I did, the fairing does not sit the same as on the stock RSV. Do the Flanders with all the cable extensions. !!! Leave Our Flag Alone !!!
