  1. Both of mine went in from the side. I had a spinal tap and then they top you off so when you wake up you're not too groggy. The idiot doing my second surgery spinal tap tried 6 times, then they got somebody else that needed 3 more tries.....oh well. They have you up walking the same day or the next day. They send you home on day 3 if no complications. Pain was minimal, certainly much less then before. I strongly recommend following the rehab exercises. My right hip came out much better then the left one.....it's not terrible, just not as good as the right one. The right one feels as good as new and the scar is almost invisible after 2 years. Good luck......I'm free to chat about it anytime if you need to.
  2. Fellow Ontario VentureRiders........I don't know about you but between 2 hip replacement surgeries and the Covid lockdowns and travel restrictions, I haven't been anywhere on a bike in way too long. Assuming cross border travel is allowed then, who is going to the Asheville get-together in August? At this point in time, I am giving it some serious thought. Who else wants to go?
  3. Haven't been anywhere with the bike in a long time......gonna try and make this event.
  4. Space is the other issue that I can't get around til I can put the snowblower back in the shed at the end of that season. Tequila is my go-to beverage....but that's not to say I don't enjoy a variety of schnapps'. I'm flexible in that respect.
  5. Every time I go out to my garage and see my bike I wanna scream....this ridiculously cold winter can take a hike! I have a number of projects that I wanna do on the bike but my garage is small, already, overcrowded and very cold....too cold to do what I wanna do and no room until I can put the snowblower away. OK...I've had my rant.....I'll pour myself a little Tequila and relax.....for now.......
  6. I might be interested in one of those as well.
  7. No....not a tall blonde....I have a scale model of the Wng I just sold and can't remember where I got it....now I would like a similar scale model of my RSV. Anybody know where they can be had? Tried searching the net and Fleaby with no luck. Thanks
  8. Freebird, so sorry to hear of your relapse. Prayers for a speedy and positive outcome. I agree 100% that the local get-togethers and the Maintenance Days were awesome. I think everyone enjoyed those and they definitely helped keep this group together. Covid has wreaked havoc on all social groups and gatherings and can't end soon enough. I left this group a few years ago when I sold my RSV and switched to a Wing......that didn't last long. I missed my RSV and I missed this group of misfits. Sold the Wing, bought another RSV and rejoined this clan......and feel like I am home again. I hope this group can continue on....the friendships created here, the wealth of knowledge here and the willingness of members to jump in and help another member is unmatched anywhere. Stay safe everyone....spring will come.....
  9. Merry Christmas......ya, I'm late.
  10. Merry Christmas everyone. Let's all stay safe.
  11. That was the colour of my first RSV and I still think it's the best colour.
  12. OK, thanks for the input guys.
  13. So....I currently have the battery in the bike and hooked up to the trickle charger. The bike is in the garage which is attached to the house so it's not completely isolated but not heated. Am I ok leaving the battery in the bike on the charger over the winter or will it get too cold in the garage? I normally pull the battery but am getting old and lazy. Rooster
  14. Enjoyed watching these videos. You guys are doing some amazing work!
  15. I have a Garmin Zumo 590LM that I picked up used and have not mounted it on the bike yet, but am hoping to do that in the off season. It has the usual inline fuse in the red wire, and has the black ground wire but then it has 3 plugs that look sort of like RCA jack connectors and are labeled Audio in, Audio out and Mic in. I assume the bike will not have the corresponding hook-ups built in. Has anyone used this same model of GPS, and if so, how did you hook up these 3 connections? I have attached a picture.
  16. Time to pay it forward. I took this backrest off my bike and replaced it with a Utopia rest, which was GIVEN to me so I am returning the gesture with this backrest. It is FREE to a good home, you just cover the shipping. The backrest is in great shape.
  17. As we all know, this group of misfits has some amazing members and I need to take a few minutes to thank 2 of them. Big thanks to Videoarizona - David for paying it forward with a Utopia backrest. I installed it today and can't wait to go riding. I will be paying it forward in another thread with the backrest that I took off the bike. Big thanks to M61A1Mech - Steve for the rear light bar. I installed it today, and the quality of the work and all the plug and play connections made it simple enough that even an electrically challenged dummy like me installed it.....and it works! Thank you very much gentleman. Attached Sorry for the pics...they appeared the right way when I loaded them.
  18. Here are some that I recently had sent to me.........don't know anything about these things so I hope these are good. 2nd gen lift adapter.pdf
  19. ...to sell?
  20. OK, I'm guessing I will have to Mcgiver something......
  21. Yo!! Carbon One.......tried to send you a message but it wouldn't go through. Looking for one of your wired mounts for a Wolo horn. Rooster
  22. 2009 RSV....I can turn the key all the way to the left to the "lock" position with the handlebars all the way to the left, but then I can't pull the key out. I have to go back one position before I can remove the key. Should I spray a little CRC into the lock? I have a Wolo Bad Boy horn and I was told somebody makes a mount specifically for that horn. Can anybody hook me up? Thanks Rooster
  23. Did they quote you a price?
