  1. Hi Bob, thanks for your help, I could kill the kids, they always mess about with my bike, I need two greys and one black, I'm also missing the springs and round circular thing in the middle. I'll pay you for them and the postage. Warren.
  2. Hi all, I went to start my Venture up today an noticed something bad, the kids have been messing about with my Venture and broken the bottom 3 buttons:yikes: Anyone know where I can buy the missing arts, if indeed I can, or does anyone have some spare, please:smile5:. Thanks all, Woz.
  3. Thanks for the link Rich, I downloaded it but I'd like to get a 1984 brochure, just for memories? The guy who's asking £45 on eBay's mad, with a capital M. I remember going into my local bike shop waayyy back and seeing a stack of these brochures, I'd be willing to pay £5, same probably as everyone else here, but he's taking the p**s asking £45.
  4. I agree buddy, as much as I love my Venture I don't love it that much to pay almost £50 for a sales brocure, I would like one though as I used to have one on my bedroom wall back in the 1980's:cool10:.
  5. Hi all, anyone got a Yamaha XVZ1200 Venture brochure scanned on the computer? There's a guy on eBay selling them, but he's asking £45 for 1, MADhttp://www.yamahaventureclub.co.uk/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif. Take a look on eBay at item number:- 370120994371
  6. Hi Mike, good info, I misunderstood him in thinking he meant the 3 chrome trim pieces, the chrome does wear away, as it has on my.
  7. If your on about the 3 chrome strips, Yamaha on the centre strip? then you'll get them from eBay 2nd hand quite cheaply. If you want them new check this site out:- http://www.cmsnl.com/search.php?s_name=xvz I do live in the UK so the site is in Euros, but it'll give you an idea of the price.
  8. HI Peggy. I just want to say Sorry to hear about your loss as well, I think all of us who love animals know what you and yours are going through, so please accept my deepest sympathy, my thoughts are with you, even here in the UK.
  9. Hi Wayne, I rebuilt my TCI unit with Mike Broods help, sealed the unit up then put it back in its original location. Everyone told me to relocate it on top of the airbox but I've not had any bother with it yet, I think if you seal it up properly it'll be fine where it is, I must admit that it's much easier to get to on top of the airbox, also heat from the engine's no longer an issue on the airbox as is water.

    84 XVZ1200 re-build

This is my re-build/putting together a parts bike that I bought from Glasgow, it took me 9 hours to get up to Glasgow to get it and a further 11 hours to get back.
  11. Hi Sarges46, I have thought about doing this upgrade, but I do like to try and keep things original if I can, if I can't get the parts however an upgrade it'll have to be. Hi Skydoc 17, I know what fuse holders your on about as I was thinking if I do go the upgrade road then these are what I'd use. I've also got a Honda VT500E that I've rebuilt and I'm going to do this upgrade to that first, all 4 fuses were rusted solid so I've no option there.
  12. Hi all, Does anyone have a fuse holder for the accessory fuse, my one's snapped, it the small white red wire that screws into the fuse box. I've looked for new holders, crimping type but can't find any.
  13. I've bought a few things from them and I'd recommend them and I live in the UK, I did have a problem where they sent me the wrong cables but they sorted it very quickly.
  14. Hi Mike, I can't send you emails because they are getting rejected by your email client? It's seeing me as spam.

  15. Hi Carl, make sure the thread's okay in the carb first as you may have stripped that also and let me know, I'll send you the carb sync screw if needed, I don't want anything for it so don't worry.
  16. I've got a spare set of carbs, send me a picture of the screw and I'll take it off and ship it to you.
  17. Hi guy's, thanks for all the info, I think I'll go for the short one then as I'm 5,11" and don't like the idea of looking through a bug splattered windscreen. Also like you all confirm, it still deflects all the wind/rain.
  18. Hi all, I've been offered a High Windscreen for £40 and a Low Windscreen for £25. What I want to know is did the Ventures come as standard with a option for High or Low windscreens? I really want to build the bike back up to as standard as possible so I'd like to get the original.
  19. Do you get any errors on the screen or is the screen just blank? If it's just blank the screen may be faulty, try pressing the manual/auto button to get it on to manual and try adjusting the suspension, there may be a blank screen but it could still be working?

My other rebuild, a Honda VT500E.

I bought this VT500E off a mate, it had been round his back garden stuffed in a bunch of Lylandia trees for over 6 years.
