    i saw two yesterday both in the same day one here in the town i live in (jackson) it was a 07 black/blue and the other was black one it was out on hwy 21 about 70 to 80 miles from home.

    the axle is 18mm and the pinch bolt is a 8mm you can find out all the sizes in the tech thread and you can down load all the manuals that you will need it says for a 1999 but it is also for the same year bike you have good luck

    i had the same problem with mine took it to a dealer they took the controler off sent it off to be fixed 10 weeks later i get a call and it is not the controler so they want the amp so i go back to dealer and they take it off to be sent out and that was 3 weeks ago so here i am with no radio since early May. before i sent it off i did every thing that Kent said to do but had no luck maybe yours is better.

    i am 45yrs old I had a 83 VR for a few years then i bought a 06 in june of 08 it had 8500 miles on and it has 31,000:big-grin-emoticon:

    tight as you can possible get it i wouldnt worry about a torqe setting.

    well Ray it was pleasure to meet you to and thanks for the kind words. if you had been their an hour earlier you would have heard me asking the dumb questions (and there is no such thing as a dumb question got to learn some how) because i was showed how to do it six bikes before yours lol lol. hope to meet you again either down the rode or at the next MD.

    does the little VENTURE sign on the side of the bag come off if so you might be able to get to the hinge bolts and nut i am not for sure but at least its worth a try:confused24:

    be safe and fun but most of all watch out for those cross winds. driveing a f350 and a 30' 5th wheel came out from behind a rock and whammmm hit me so hard the steering wheel came out of my hands almost broke my wrist never had the wind hit me so hard like that plus silly me had just read the sign 2 miles before it happened.

    i was cleaning out the shed and garage saturday and came across my old bike cover for my 83 venture. cleaned it off and put in on my 06rsv and it is a little snug but it does fit. you can still read the venture logo on both sides.
