Did an oil change on the Spyder last night, had more oil left over so I did the diesel as well, now the neighbor wants his oil changed. No problem, after doing my two I have more left over than I need. Crappy thing is, I have just as much now as when I started this project. Just a bit different color is all. Gotta see if Marca has some food coloring,, that otta do it!! Leave it to beaver!!

The party has started. Bikes were delivered and positioned. It's warm and lit. Stands were located under the main frames. Good place I think. Some plastic was removed as were the seats and fuel tanks. Probably good idea, seeing as it's warm outside. Spark plugs removed and valve covers loosened. Found out that getting them loose didn't help much with getting them out. So far the race is equal. Next time the approach is to drain some coolant, and chuck the carbs. Who said this was easy? 2 guys working hard, I feel sorry for them. Yah!!??

Why don't we just say: read the label!! and if it's cheap there probably is a reason. Pay now or pay later. It would be nice if all people in the world were honest, upright and caring for others, but alas, it is not to be.

My question is: what exactly do you mean by the words: I still don't have a clutch? It can go 2 ways: it either will not dis-engage or it slips when handle is released. If it slips, then maybe you need to address the plates etc. If it won't dis-engage, your problem is most likely in the hydrolic side

There are wear bars (Spots) in the center tread. One can be seen near the top of the picture. Get down to where there is no difference and it's time to replace. You're getting close.

The results are in. There are a number of reasons for me to cancel my involvement in the organization of this event. 1) I will probably not be able to attend. 2) Not sure where the covid thing might be at any given point in time. 3) Niagara Shores is turning down events for the same weekend and we have no idea how many will come to pay their bills, so they want us to make a decision, can't say as I blame them. 4) Only 6 riders indicated interest, and 2 of those were Canadian, and the border might still be closed. Hopefully we can re-enjoy next year. I'm going to miss this eh!!!

Install date is not near as important as manufacturing date. As far as tread wear, I would say ride it yet for a while. Keep in mind that 75% of tire life is in the first 25% of tread wear.

I would take that switch apart and give it a good cleaning.

Continued prayers for you all.

I have been in conversation today with Ernie, one of the owners of Niagara Shores. He would really like\needs to know if we will have our rally there in July 15 thru 18th. They have had a difficult year and have no idea how this year will plan out for them, so they are looking to fill every desired and available spot possible. Can't say as I blame them. So far we have only 4 people respond on the calendar, which is great, but not great enough. I also realize that there are a lot of things still up in the air when it comes to covid as well as time off and other things, but I do need to ask you to post on the calendar : https://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar/event/439-niagara-shores-rally/ I talked him into giving us one week to decide, so a decision will be made next Sunday. Please post today. Carl

Time is moving on, and we need to know if there is interest in the Niagara Shores Rally. The spot is right on Lake Ontario. If you have interest to attend, then please indicate that on the calendar, so that we have some sort of an idea. I know the covid thing has most of us wondering what July will bring, but we do need to plan a little. So please do your thing.

So very sorry for creating the upset that my un-researched comment caused. Bet the calendar got some visits though.

Got me one of those there thingies about 10 years ago,,,, oooooo do I love it. Never out of hot water, can use hot water in my pressure washer if I want, and it's super cheap to run. When this one goes, IN comes another!!!

Be ready to invest some money into it, there are going to be things that need to be replaced, afterall it's a 30 year old bike. Things I would look for: condition of the plastic, is it missing tabs, cracked, paint condition. Bottom of the trunk will crack out on some bikes. Paint condition. Age of tires, sure they may only have a few miles on them, but how old are they. Things I would plan to go over before I ride it: Brakes, including a caliper and master rebuild. All wiring connectors taken apart and cleaned and then coated with fluidfilm. Check and lube the steering head. Change oil, including the forks. Lube all points on the swing arm and remove the rear tire for complete service.

I think it's an excellent choice for you, barring any issues that it has. Ridability should work premium for yah.

Moved it for you.
