  1. You could also use methyl hydrate, it absorbs water and is normally called gas-line antifreeze, but a whole lot cheaper if you buy it by the gallon.
  2. Just thinkin: get the wide one and then use an automotive scissor to help where needed.
  3. Your local tire dealer, or one of the bike parts sellers. Bike Bandit, Pinwall,,,,,,,,, Amazon
  4. Not much room for stickers, course that might be a good thing. Nice looking unit.
  5. All good things to know for anybody in the future. Hopefully nobody will need it, but then we are all humans and machines don't always co-operate. Thanks for doing the write up.
  6. Don't think that would come from over tightening, if I'm not mistaken torque is 100 ft lbs so things won't get together any closer than that.
  7. Been following you on this thread. What a bummer!! but glad to hear you are both OK. Blessings!!
  8. You can also pop those beads in the microwave for 2 minutes, problem solved and no residue or smell.
  9. Obviously you are saving the wrong things.
  10. When did you start following directions???
  11. Achh, just take out the screw and the oil will come, it'll be in a hurry so get ready to catch it. Be done with that in the matter of seconds rather than hours. When one side is done, put the screw back in, add a little air and do the other side. Ice cream bucket does the trick.
  12. SURPRISE!!!
  13. In this day and age you blame me for being an informant? Really? Do you carry your cell phone with you? I know mine doesn't track me, but does yours track you? At least I don't think my tracks me, I told it not to, but sometimes these things have a mind of their own.
  14. Ever wonder what your lovely, wonderful spouse might be up to when you are out gallivanting around? She does have a phone of her own, has my phone number, and sometimes even knows where I'm at. She knows how to talk and text and keep a close eye on that husband of hers so that he don't get into too much trouble and has enough time get get back home to look at the list, that way he knows he is still needed for something at least.
  15. Just be careful with the throttle, once you twist it to open you'll find it very hard to close again,,,, unless you need fuel or something to eat, then it closes just fine.
  16. I did that once, now to see if I remember how I fixed it. I did not take the cam out, but if I recall I decided that the bucket must have been pushed down at an angle, so the trick would be to straighten out the angle. So with something that will work (punch?) tap the bucket on the high side to put it back straight. Once it straightens it should pop back up from the spring pressure under it. Careful now, go easy.
  17. Wish you would have said something before, I got 1 car, 1 truck and 1 bike to wash. Could have arranged that pretty nice.
  18. Iffin that scooter wants to lay down, she's gonna do just that, best not try to stop her for she will wreck havoc with your frame and tail.. Like Ben said, give it some practice time and things will improve. One thing that might helpful for you would be to trim a bit out of the height and sides of foam on the seat, one inch can make a huge difference, another would be to reposition the handle bars so they are lower and not to wide out, and if you remove the trunk you'll also decrease the top heaviness.
  19. DUTCHMAN!!!! YOU could have brought the donuts!!!!! I'm sure @XV1100SEwould have been very appreciative. And @sleepy2 might have helped in keeping them warm as well. Anyways though, the fact that you did show up for a while was much enjoyed, even though you had ulterior motives, such as the honey due list you mentioned.
  20. Yep, we had a good time. Last year we had the fun of making 3 bikes into one, that took a while. This year with 2 bikes we only ended up with two. Wonder what will happen next.
  21. Not just too sure, they both left. Guess it was quittin time. Down to one scooter and it will be gone soon I think.
  22. Was that yours or mine? Where is everybody? Break time again??? That goes WHERE?? Now back to work, time is moving on. Picture time, they look happy!! It was supposed to go there,, drat!! Hope Don didn't notice, I know it's red!! Looks better that way. Runnin like a top!! First one done. This one likes runnin as well. They left the tools out!! Well at least they got that right. Thanks guys!!
  23. Problem with these guys, they had to keep comparing each other and had big discussions as to who was boss. They did finally figure it out though.
  24. Bum is only welcome once in a while, though I do like him a lot, so I will add the word great! I will let you insert it into the sentence where you think it might sound the best. Thanks @saddlebumfor coming out and drinking our coffee and messing with the organization of tools.
  25. Valves are adjusted, got most of them right I think. Discovered that this is more interesting than it is on a first gen, might suggest to make some modifications so that it is easier to put back together. I'm thinking there is a lot of stuff just getting in the way of progress. More hoses and wires than you can shake a stick at. Hope @sleepy2 and @XV1100SEknow where all the crap attaches to. I helped them so far and @saddlebumwas here to add more confusion, so we'll see what happens next. May have a couple of scooters forsale shortly.
