  1. I would cut back on the pre-load not the oil. Less oil will not effect the dampening.
  2. Good eyes!!! How did you come up with that idea, I would have never thought.
  3. Wire set isn't under the foot where it belongs.
  4. Will you just look at the dirt in the back of your neck!!
  5. He is not trying, he did say!! Now if you would listen it should be loud and clear. He is much younger than you eh!
  6. Forgot to locktite the bolts or torque them.
  7. Most likely there is a butterfly staying open. One open butterfly can do it.
  8. I can't really tell if you did, but, when using anything, plastifix, fiberglass, abs powder, what ever,,,, it is super important to remove the 'glaze' on the surface of the original piece. If you don't, things won't stick for long.
  9. There is a seal that goes on the lower tube before you slide the inner tube in. There is also a seal that goes inside. The one inside seals the 2 tubes and keeps the oil and air in where they belong, the one on top and on the outside is more of a dust and dirt seal, is larger and thicker, and has only a small collar that sits inside the lower tube.
  10. Not to worry none, the best one snagged me over 50 yrs ago, and I dursant try for another. I did suggest a maid to make life easier for her, but at present that is still a no go, so those other wanta bees will just have to keep coming and going until the time is ripe.
  11. Is that why we have sooo much traffic on our street lately, now it all makes sense.
  12. Now you went and did it again!! How many videos do I have to watch?
  13. I can't wear one!! Why? Don't have a fanny!!
  14. All good info, it should work for you. Sometimes though it might take 2 people and it might end up being the case of darned if you do and darned if you don't, in other words as you pop the one side in the other pops out. Keep at it, and they will all seat eventually. Personally I think the problem arises from the fact that the carbs were not perfectly flat when joined together, they may have looked flat, but weren't close enough. Yours look like they should flip in, but it might be a back and forth a couple of times. Heat and a good dose of WD40, or better yet, Fluid Film.
  15. So yous say it was windy? Where, in South Africa? No signs of wind in those pictures, maybe it was just in your noggin, 'course you were fairly close to a wind machine, maybe that's what you were doing with your fist, trying to divert the inevitable. Not sure that Marca needed any help from you at that time, she was watching all on her own and is quite capable in doing that by herself,,,, don't go stepping on her toes or you be HISTORY!! just a warning. If you found any turns of any description on that trip it was only due to mama Yamaha and her choice of bearings. Now there might have been a few curves and turn offs, but u-turns would have been your idea.
  16. Don't think a couple of small holes would compromise the bar at all. What I would look at to do is to remove the cover from the back side, fasten the mount onto the bar with a couple of tek-screws, cut off the protruding screw on the backside with a dremel, put the wires back in and re-install the cover. Bob' your uncle! Advantage of using tek-screws is that they completely fill any hole and it's easy.
  17. Under closer inspection, what were you up to with your left hand while I was taking a well deserved nap after getting tired leading you through the total maze of roadways to get you to this point. Bet Marca wasn't watching close enough or you would have been total pulp!! THAT'S HER TERRITORY!!
  18. Now you did done doed it, all h3ll will break loose and the intention of the thread will go in other directions.
  19. Just some pictures of what @saddlebum was mentioning. I'm the one having a nap,,, something I do well!! Built by none other than @Squidley Pictures taken 2016
  20. Check forks, straight and even. Check rear wheel alignment, so swing arm to be tight and in good condition. Check brakes all around, especially the front two that there is no excessive drag. Check the fork brace to be true and tight. Front wheel bearings. Rear wheel bearings. Steering head bearings.
  21. Yah Bum, you don't know the half of it, stay in your corner!!
  22. Covid??? Yep!!! needed to buy some breakers for the electrical panel at our shop. Not in stock anywhere, so called my electrician. He said they were all made in Mexico (not that that matters) and that the 3 shifts at the plant are now done to only one. Why?? It's the times I bet. Anyhow, building houses etc just got slower because of a tiny part that is needed to supply power.
  23. Nope, you should be fine.
  24. Marca had to have a new valve put in her heart in Dec and now the Dr wants more tests. It sure makes one think about what happens next and when. There's no time like the present to plan the future. For her and me, we are quite alright with what's been offered.
