Goes on first, then the air joint goes in on top, then the spacer\damper, then the steering head presses down on it all to hold it together. Hope that helps.

I changed my tire last spring to an Avon, I'd say at this point it's only 1\2 used. Took my wheel off for maintainance and balance and the splines are totally dry with all the grease nicely spread around on the plastic cover. Now if I was to wait to do this at the next tire change it would be running dry for a long time, question is at this point how long has it been dry already. So my question then would be: has anyone ever taken the rear wheel of and found actual grease on the splines? and if so what did you use and how slow do you drive or do you normally just walk beside it? And yes my rubber is in place.

I thought it would mean, motor cycles use caution or you'll be walking.

Has anyone figured out yet how to keep grease on the final drive gear case splines. Took my rear wheel off last week and found them to be totally dry again. What do I need to use to keep grease on these things. Suggestions PLEASE.

Passing Lamps - where is the switch???
Marcarl replied to a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
There is also a possiblity that it is integrated with the high beam switch. Turning your high beams off and on with proper timing may light them up. -
The way I understand it is that there two kinds of headsets, one with a mic on a boom, so for 3\4 or flip face helmets and the other for full face that has no boom but is velcroed onto the chin piece. The boom would actually work on the full face but be a bit awkward, whereas the velcroed mic would have little to stick to on a 3\4 helmet.

RSV Electrical Capacity Info

Sounds to me like your stator maybe not working quite right. You should have more juice than that. -
Know all about that type of scoot, was my first one as well, rode it for 1 year then it wouldn't run again, sold it for more than I bought for. Bought it from my mother-in-law (guess they're good for something) was a deep pink color and the helmet that came with it was purple, big time. Maybe that's why I didn't want to fix it for the next season. That was 25 years ago, no money and lots of kids and a mortgage @ 21%.

95%. Course this test is American and not Canadian other wise I'd get better. Gonna knock over some pedistrians when I cross the border, so be forewarned and ride your scoot at all times.

The little pin holes in the front of your muffler are a 'supposed to be'. Helps let out excss moisture at times, and will spit carbon when idleing.

Now just because you put new sliders in, doesn't mesn that they are working. You need to look at them under runiing conditions, you may have not got the seals in the right place. There is also a little o-ring below the slider which you don't want to forget to put in, you may have lost one so check that out. Your discription is not common and I would look for more problems. Also you didn't mention if you replaced the plugs. You need to do that as well.

Thanks Mike for reminding us of life, and marriage, and God. And we don't mind hearing about Caddy once in a while. You sure did love her and I think we would have liked to meet her as well. In a way we do, when you speak about her. Thanks.

who knows something about 2 stroke engines?
Marcarl replied to pegscraper's topic in General Tech Talk
One thing that has not yet been mentioned is that the timing may have gone off. This can happen if the engine backfires, or is brought to a sudden halt, or the when the cord is pulled the engine kicks back. Most 2 cycles run on a magneto and this is governed by the flywheel which is attached to the crank shaft and held in position with a key made from soft metal. The slightest little bit off this key may be will give the symptoms discribed earlier. -
If you're using pin stripping with metal in it, it's not going to happen. Withput metal, so just the vinyl, make sure that the temp is 70 degrees or warmer, clean the area of application well wth a non residual cleaner (Windex?), wet the area with a water solution with a couple or drops of sunlight soap, (not much soap at all, just enough to break the water down) and then with 3 hands lay the striping down. As you go around a curve, if you're working from right to left your right thumb lays the striping down and your left thumb follows to keep it down. Pull too hard with your right hand and you'll pull the striping off, just enough tension to keep moving. The little folds created in the curve can be worked out later. Once it is down and to your liking, take a credit card and wotk the water out from under it. Leave it for a day, and Bob's your uncle. Hope this helps, if not I'll call you on the phone, but need your number.

Do a search on steering, you'll find the comments and solutions. Doesn't help? post here again and we'll help you fix your problem. There's just too many threads to post just one here.

Gotta ask Charlie aka E-Fishin-C. He's been all over and lives somewhere in nowhere land up there near the Sault. Got it right though, once you get out of Southern Ontario, you'd better keep the tank full, but an awesome ride.

Thanks Don for the reminder. We all need that from time to time, even if it's just to make your job more pleasant and easier. I haven't found anything lately that I would argue with, so you must be doing a good job or we must really be a good bunch of folks.
