Heard somewhere that it takes a 1000 miles to get used to a new scoot and be comfortable with it, and they got it just about right. Get used to it single before you add the extra body and teach the passenger all about lean, when to and when not to. Tell her she should be just a bag of wheat strapped into the back seat and to sit very quite at low speeds, no turning of the head or leaning of the head either. You'd be surprised how much it will through you off at low speed if she turns her head.

Don't want to through water on this discussion, but I bought Chatterbox 2 years ago, use them regularily because I can't go anywhere without my wife and so far the only problem I had with them is when Marca decided that a twist was a good thing in trying to connect her two cords which bent the pins in the middle of the night.

Keep in mind that what you're looking to do is vastly different than towing with a cage. A motorcycle has only 2 wheels as opposed to a cage with 4 on the road, and any sway from what ever may cause it, is going to be exemplified on a bike. The weight differential of a scooter is also very much less than that of a cage so anything that might comes to the 'mind' of a trailer will have a profound impact on the scooter. That's all the big words I'm going to use. Carl

Now I don't mind towing something behind me, but that thing is something my scooter would be sure to try to get away from. Maybe something for a 2nd gen for more getup and go.

Maybe think about putting on a Reese type hitch, getting one of those hitches where you only put the front wheel of the bike into and see what she tows like. I would think though that you're asking for a lot. The weight is no problem, but as stated before the center of gravity would be my concern.

Seems to be an interesting site. Lots and lots of bulbs available and at really reasonable prices. I think I'll order a bunch and see what happens. As far as a use for passing lamps though, I would think that according to the specs you will be seen. But will you see much in the dark is my question. I haven't yet seen any LEDs that do any sort of a job on giving out light that can be used for illumination. So far I will stick with incadescents or halogens for my passing lamps, but marker lights and signals would be interesting to change.

I would check for leaks first and then decide if I blew a shock. Seems to me that if you blew the air bag in the shock you wouldn't be wondering if you damaged something, you would have heard a bang and the shock would not hold air what so ever. But from your post I gather that it does hold air but leaks kind of fast, so that tells me that you may have an airline leak instead.

I agree that those soldiers have more right to be there than anyone else. But I would also put most of the blame on our media and of course the folks who will buy the media to read it. I'm not saying the media is directly to blame for what happened in the UK but it has a lot to do with the opinion of the general public, in this case the woman that was indicated and the other folks who didn't seemngly stand up for the soldiers. It happened in the UK but could just as easily happened in Canada or the US. Let us be vocal about our support for our Vets and not let them down like as happened here. Carl

Just on the off chance or for the fun of it: Loosen the axle bolts, then loosen the pinch bolts, not tighten the axles and then retighten the pinch bolts then torque the axles.

Who says he knows anything, he just gave you an answer and you hope it's the truth. Worry none, PEIslander has it right. Don't worry about the stator, leave it in place and put a wet rag around it when you go to weld. Aluminum welding should not produce enough heat to bother it any. Enjoy your efforts and when you go to put the cover back on, be sure that the shifter linkage, in behind the cover, is in the up position, not hanging down as it would like to. The cover will install with it in the down position but you will have fun trying to get it to place right, put it in the up position and all will slide together slickidesmooth. As a bonus you will also be shifting in the right direction when you're done.

That's in case the hole gets too big you can float your way out, hummm maybe something for another member here, you could use it in the winter and he in the summer.

I'm wondering if you used a differnet type of tyre sealer before using Ride-On and so got a chemical mixture that don't work good together? An d did you shake the can real well before using it, or maybe it was old product??? -
Yep, know the feeling, my wife wouldn't ride with me, not at all, until one day, after I got the VR she was standing on the porch, dressed and ready to go. Now if I leave by myself, even for s short trip, I can see the look in her face: what????I'm not going along????????? Scoot just isn't the same without her. Happy riding, be careful with her.

Could be wind currents coming up from the back, but most likely you have a leak in your exhaust, but the pin holes in the bottom are for leaking out moisture and that wouldn't cause the problem, do not plug these up. Try a can of seafoam to clean the carbs and then see what happens.

Maybe time to change the seal, looks like water got in with the grease, and that is never a good thing. All them 2nd genners only have to wait a few more years and then they'll find that the seals get old and dry, and then they won't know how to fix anything because they didn't think to pay attention when we was trying to learn them somthin.
