  1. Getting it right is one thing, getting it perfect is another Eh?!
  2. These V4s don't like to go out without a hat on, so in other words, air box and filter need to be in place. Next I would check to make sure all the carbs are properly seated in their boots. Sometimes,,, like most of the time,,, a fellar needs to seat these things back and forth a few times to get them to stay. If that don't help, fire it up and then go around the intake area with an open unlit propane torch and see if you notice any difference in the RPMs, if you do you can now dig for an intake leak. Then come back here and ask some more.
  3. Give thanks for all the many things that we have here in our continent. Some are there to help build us, and some are there just to please us. Some bring us closer together and some send us to different destinations to enjoy and share with new folks. Life is but a fleeting moment so let's enjoy every moment we have that is given us, realizing that at anytime we might be called to account for the things we have done and those that we have left un-done.
  4. Are you confirming that we are possessed?
  5. The breather is a possibility, it allows air to escape when the pumpkin heats up and then allows air back in when it cools down. If it weren't for the breather then air would be transferred past the seals , and that would spoil the seals with contaminates. The breather should have a filter in it to prevent any contamination, but it may be compromised. It may be plugged, but then I would suspect to see some oil residue around the seal areas.
  6. Check your tires, being as the noise is in a curve it could be the tread on the tires. Check especially for cupping on the side tread. Could also be a bearing, to check that you need to have the wheel off the ground and then check for play at the axle. Also check for smoothness as it turns, a stethoscope might be hand there.
  7. I'm thinking that a more detailed description might give you more defined answers.
  8. Don't look right to me, I would think it to be black, but then it might depend on what it was originally.
  9. Figure on at least 2k to get it up and running, maybe more. So is 3k too much for something you might be happy with? And don't forget the time spent to fix it.
  10. They are on the slow boat from China, and now waiting to get unloaded outside the harbour.
  11. I think that's exactly the point, 'reality' not 'virtual reality'.
  12. Refreshing new type of ad. It takes an Icelander.
  13. Ahhh you poor fella, I feel soooo sorry for you to have to ride in that kind of weather. Should we do a 'fundme' for yah? so you can get something better?
  14. For the winter I drain the carbs, park it so that it's out of the way and come spring I go wake it up. Never used a tender, have run reg and AGM, and can't say I've had an issue. If you have a parasitic drain then I would take the positive cable off of the battery. Now you have lots of opinions to confuse you.
  15. Plugs at $2 ea sends up a red flag. A lot of plugs are knock-offs that may seem to be the real item but are not and will give you grief in short order. Best hang on to the used ones until you are sure about the ones for $2. Now you may have got a good deal, not saying you didn't, but most often you get what you pay for. After my experience buying supposedly Champion plugs from a local hardware store, and finding they didn't work, I now only buy plugs from a jobber and not even Canadian Tire.
  16. Are you doing the wheelbarrow next? Nice work on the scooter, bet you looking forward to it being all done and able to ride.
  17. Plugs look good to me, but then I'm not the right expert maybe.
  18. A slow drip will evaporate quite quickly. If it's your 87, fuel will not flow without the pump running because the top of the tank is below the bottom of the carbs. So no need to worry about a stuck float for this reason, it may be stuck but would not have emptied the tank.
  19. Thanks for posting Don. Jim will be missed, he always very helpful in what he could do. I hope he went to where I'm going so we can meet again. Prayers for those left behind, as of yet.
  20. Yep, you are 100% right It's a sign of the times and of things to come. The hand writing is on the wall.
  21. It seems that in the case of finding new immigrants there are 2 sides to the story, the good and the bad. Our countries can use good immigrants and there are folks we could 'rescue' from their places of trouble and give them a btter life. (feed the hungry). Immigration is the only story that has 2 sides, so does climate change, covid,,,,, and others. The trick is how to help the one side and keep the other in check. Both sides use some truth and also some mis-truth and mis-information. Maybe if can get everybody to stick to the truth and only the truth things would work out better. The Good Book says that liars will not enter heaven, maybe we should spread that message a bit more. JMT
  22. Lookin better all the time!! Do you ship to Canada?
  23. I do that anyway, startin to be a habit. Guess I need more naps!!
  24. Next time you take a nap, drink a little sage tea, you'll find a big improvement. You used the 'sage' word in the wrong sentence.
  25. If memory serves me correct there is some kind of setup to prevent it from going back in on it's own. There might be an adjustment available there. Or somebody decided to lube it and overcome the idea. I do know that most if not all the 2nd gens I've seen have the choke stay out until pushed back in.
