  1. I have the 9 inch dark tint on my RSV it is original width and all mounting is exact. Slid right in the slot. Great windscreen.
  2. Forgot when your bikes were made they did not exist!
  3. Most of us have cell phones with cameras that are always with us, if the op arises we could snap pics and post with the thread. Might help others recognizes bikes?
  4. I had the shoulder pain when I first got the RSV, I tilted the bars as far forward as I could and it helped greatly, long arms (37 inch sleeves.)
  5. Great sight!!!! I've learned a lot. Great bunch of folks.
  6. For those of you wanting to build a trailer, I found this in my local HF flyer for the sidewalk sale today thru wed. $179.99 as listed in the ad http://www.harborfreight.com/1090-lb-capacity-40-1-2-half-inch-x-48-inch-mini-utility-trailer-with-12-inch-four-lug-wheels-and-tires-90153.html
  7. Thanx for the info. I actually have the idle set high to get more seafoam into the carbs. Had it pretty good yesterday, but started to starve when I hit 5th getting on the big road, of course I was gouging on it. Has big pipes and seems to be rich also. Checked the plugs today, front are carbon fouled the rear are oil and carbon fouled. Will not idle at all now, I guess I will have to pull the carbs. That looks like a job the way they are nestled in the frame. Thanx again, anything else will help.
  8. Thanks, that is what I thought. Actually, I am having trouble with fuel. Tank and Carbs have been cleaned?? by a shop. but bike is still very rough, low speed. I have put in a can of SeaFoam, filled it and put about 15 miles on it. Gonna let it set for the night and try after work in the morning. Thanks again
  9. Any one have any knowledge or documentation on a '93 era Shadow 1100. I have one in the garage that I am working on for a friend. He has a Climbers for it but It does not even give fuse locations. Thanks
  10. Why not use a solar panel mounted to the trailer? Keep the battery hard mounted in the trailer and make an extension cord to get to the tent.
  11. Factory fork lock will lock in either position and there is an old fashion pad lock ring with the bars turned to the left.
  12. I saw this early this morning and could not wait for the stealer to open. I went straight down there and they told me that this was not a user installable part, that it was a precision installation, you would not believe the cost on that one!!!!
  13. Gotta love resourcefulness.
  14. Great looking rig!!!! What did you use for the trailer? Did you buy a small trailer from somewhere or did you build your own?
  15. I just picked a H3 lamp from HF, did not realize it but it was http://images.harborfreight.com/cpi/photos/93900-93999/93904.gif ITEM 93904-6VGA $12.99 Removed the housing and found H3 lamp inside. 55w 4.5 inch direct fit. only bought 1 try. Will post pics later.
  16. Radio Shack might have them, you might also try an electrical supply, Graybar, Raybro, City Electric...
  17. Buddy, What did you wind up using for your passing lamps?
  18. Sorry, I got confused.
  19. Dave, Just installed mine on and RSV and the pig tail is very short, just enough to install under the fairing. The wiring to the lamp consists of four wires. You could extend them (cut and Splice behind the lamp.
  20. Moose, You probably are not loosing torque. As said before these machines like high rev's. Wind it up and you will like the feel better. I have a '06 RSV and was surprised when I first rode it, I did not like the sluggish feeling and could not understand why it would not accelerate well in 5th on the highway. What I found reading this site, wind it up! My machine will rev out @ 40+/1st, 60+/2nd etc... Try it you will like it. As for pipes, I have Bubs on mine with the glass burned out of them and it is loud. If you go with the RK pipes you will have to drill them out to get the loud sound that you seem to be looking for.
  21. This link has the instructions and info for the lamp. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=498
  22. Bob, The bigger the number the lower the gear. A 4.10 gear has more torque than a 3.73. For instance on my truck I installed a lift kit and 35 inch tires. Stock gear ratio is 3.73, on my speedo I show over 10% slower speed than I am actually going by GPS, and when I check my mileage, it ain't changed. I still get a terrible 14mpg. To correct my speedo I need to go down to a 4.10 gear to get back the original power ratio as stock.
  23. Tire size also effects your final drive, If you put a larger tire on the rear, it is like having a taller gear, that is where you get the better mileage. If you are concerned with the power now, do not raise your tire size you will be even more disappointed.
