TopV replied to roadwarrior's topic in Bike Accessories
I would have to say is saddle bag rails top and bottom, trunk rack. passing lamps, and read added brake light. What more would you need? -

Dose anyone have any information or photos on how they assembled an additional brake light under the trunk. Had seen them on here befor but cannot locate them. Thanks Joe

Dear Halfwitt I srongly suggest you trade up for a new bike and use the wife as a trade in for it sounds like she has more miles on her than the old bike, which you can tinker with later. Abby

Took the time to put on saddle bag rails, both top and bottom. Thing is with everything i have read on here i was expecting problems. But for some reason everything matched right up , has a great line with the bottom of the bag. Hardes part of the whole job was making sure i mesured and drilled the holes for the top right, fighured if i messed that up i was in for a major problem. But all and all it is nice to know you can come here and find help with your problems. Just maybe someone from yamaha comes here and reads this stuff as well. Thank you all

All i can say is enjoy. Had that ride all planned out for this year but had to cancel. For the last few years we have planned one long distance ride a year (meaning a 1000 miles or more) and its been great with lots of fun. We like to ride with others but most people seem to be in a hurry today, so we plan this ride for us to stop and relax and see whats around us instead of just driving through from point A to B only to realize you have missed the ride. So what ever you do enjoy it and take the time to see what is around you.

Anyone have any suggestions for riding on an 8 lane highway with heavy traffic.
-
I want to thank you all for your input. The tiers are in and i have recived both the bottom rails and top rails for the bags. Next is to get it all but together and see if it all helps the looks of things. Next will be the passing lamps but thats a winter project, because they want more to put them on than they cost. So once again thank you all

I have to agree, new driving laws are not needed. They just need to be inforced.

What gas mileage do you get ?
TopV replied to greg_in_london's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I get between 42 to 45 riding two up most times. -
Took that ride 2 years ago in my truck, not something i will do again. Felt like i was loosing sight of the road afew times but took it slow and easy. The trip down isnt bad at all for your on the inside lane most of the time. It was a once in a life time event for me, but all and all well worth it. Enjoy and have a great time.
