No political posts is the easiest thing for us all. Just don´t do it. Don should not have to mention this ever again unless there is a newbie that does not know or some odd mistake. I have done this once in a humorous way but will never again - thats a promise! So lets all stay off politics - Don and the Mods have enough on their hands already and should not have to mentor us as little kids. We are supposed to be grownups right? StarFan the Viking has no "ctrl" button on his computer. StarFan is always in control !

Ouchhh !!! That hurt. But Squeeze wouldn´t you also live in fear if you were in my shoes? You know Margaret M. is there and I think one should better be on her side right? No Squeeze I have not been down at Althingi. Trying to keep my act together and stay on dry surface and doing O.K. so far. And watch out - This is actually a political comment you made and is forbidden on this forum as Freebird has rightfully pointed out today in another post. But since we here in Iceland have better beer than you guys in German Land I will forgive you, but just this one time. StarFan the Viking has only once been wrong. That was when he thought he made a mistake.

Don´t know what they are about but the headline is: "Regarding BigTom" ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Just read the first one Tom. All I can say is: RUN BIG TOM,,,,,,,,,,,RUN !!!!!!!!!

Hi Rick. Is this what you are looking for? Check out the following website: http://www.khromewerks.com/

"All of me" with Lily Tomlin and Steve Martin. Can never forget the scene when Steve was walking half as a woman and half as a man. Also I like the mel Brooks movies, Pink Panther movies and one of my all time favourites is "Silver Streak" with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor.

The list is not complete. It is missing the colors for the 1996 to 2001 Royal Star. The Venture is listed from 1999 but not the Royal Star. So lets update this list by filling in the 1996 to 2001 models.
-
Well, in a thread called "Putting Venture carbs on a 96RSTD" the discussion led to talk about what colors were offered for the various years of the Star. I did some searching and found out that there is a big difference between years both in how many colors and what colors were offered. So I was thinking if it would not be cool if we had pictures of every color offered for the stars in a folder on this site sorted out by manuf.year and type. So what do you guys think about this? I have already begun working on this and first of all I am gathering info on colors offered for each year. Alongside we can search for pictures and would be most fun to get them from members only - if possible. So what do you guys think? Should we give this a go? Freebird ! Can we somehow host this on the site? So if you play along and want to add some color just copy my list here below and fill in accordingly and repost. That way the list should little by little be filled in. And make comments on corrections if there are any wrong info. I am not far gone on this but I started with the 1996 to 1997 model and here is what I think was offered. Note that we are talking about the 1996 to 2001 Royal Star. Not the Venture and Royale Venture. The color info on them is listed on this site (This post was edited after Sleeperhawks post here below: 1996 model : New White / Mature Red Bluish White / Blue Metallic Yamaha Black Milky Brown / Yamaha Black Bluish White / Dark Blue Cocktail 1997 model: New White / Mature Red Elegant Brown / Black Shirobai White / Enticer Maroon Milky Brown / Urushi Black 1998 model: Cammellia Green / Ceramic White 1999 model: 2000 model: 2001 model: Black (no other color). So you guys and gals who know anything about the other models chip in and update the list. Little by little the list will grow and finally be completed. Any suggestions on doing this differently of cause welcome. So lets work together !!!!!!!!!!!

RSTD RepairPro manual?
StarFan replied to Dave77459's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Oil grade is actually listed very clearly in the manual. The oil grade is in chapter two, page two (2-2) under "General Specifications". They do not give a certain type number for the oil filter but only state that it is a paper filter type. The reason is most likely that there are so many different manufacturers of filters with different type number systems. All one has to do is to go to a Yamaha shop or any shop that specialices in filters and ask for a filter for this specific bike. The manufacturer of the filter should have it listed by bike/engine type. I have used this manual thoroughly and it is issued by Yamaha so I doubt there is another better one. But you could check with the nearest Yamaha Dealer and ask them what they use in their workshop since most of them offer shop manuals for sale by order. At least my dealer in Warren Ohio does "yamahaofwarren.com". But it might be the same one as they are selling on cd´s on the internet or by Acrobat files. Actually I think that these manuals offered on eBay are the same manuals (the Cd´s and the Acrobats)even though I am not sure. I am sure that some member on this site knows if this is the actual shop manual the repair shops at the dealers use or if there is another more thorough version available. Lets see if anyone comes through on this thread. Would like to know this myself even though this manual is quite sufficient for me. Just my two cents worth. -
putting venture carbs on 96rsstd?
StarFan replied to okiestrrider's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I´m a smart guy Squeeze. To prove it then think about this: I have two motorcycles - One in Iceland and one in USA and my wife is happy with me,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Still have not figured out the catch but time will tell. Gotta run. Have to vacum the living room, clean the bathroom, tidy up the kitchen, wash the curtains, clean the windows, change the bedsheats, do the laundry, cook dinner, walk the dog and water the plants before my wife comes home from the gym.- 13 replies

putting venture carbs on 96rsstd?
StarFan replied to okiestrrider's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Hi Lynn. Well first of all I scan Craigslist and eBay as well as other media for Royal Stars on a regular basis so I did remember that there were at least four colors for the 1996. But just to be on the safe side I went to a Yamaha Dealers website, yamahaofwarren.com and simply went on there spare part list and looked up a fuel tank for the Royal Star 1996. There they list all the different colors for the tanks in this specific year.- 13 replies

StarFan replied to okiestrrider's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The colors offered for the 1996 model were as follows: New White / Mature Red Bluish White / Blue Metallic Yamaha Black Milky Brown / Yamaha Black Bluish White / Dark Blue Cocktail At least these are the colors Yamaha offers for the fuel tanks and fenders for the 1996 Royal Star models. Think there were only Standard and Tour Classic that year. My guess is that Lynn (pegscraper) has of cause the New White / Mature Red Okiestrrider with Bluish White / Dark Blue BJB with Bluish White / Blue Metallic What do you guys think ? Please correct me if I am wrong. These color info can sometimes be a little confusing.- 13 replies

Clunk, rattle hmmm
StarFan replied to tsigwing's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Well, I would certainly have the steering bearing/stem nut tightness checked. Look up the torque specification for the steering stem nut and check if it is tightened to the specified torque setting. - There should be NO binding or fraction in the steering!- 11 replies

StarFan replied to tsigwing's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
First of all "Vibration in the handlebar" does not sound very comforting. If I were you I would first of all check the tire and the alignment and also if the wheel bearing is ok. Also check if the wheel axle is straight. You have warranty so take it to the dealer and have them check this out. Regarding the steering not flopping to either side when you push the handlebar gently with your finger then the steering should turn freely to the opposite side given that it is raised from the ground. There should be no binding/friction there. I am not saying it should flop to the other side but surely it should freely turn over. I would have the dealer sort this out.- 11 replies

Just make sure you stay away from a company called Roadrunner Towing. They use many names for example: USA Auto Transport, Roadrunner Auto Transport Inc, Roadrunner Towing Inc. What they do is they auction out the transport and the lower bidder gets it. Then they add on a handsome fee. They will answer the phone but the drivers never ever call and let you know when they are supposed to arrive and so forth. They damaged my bike and it took them over two and a half month to get it fixed. STAY AWAY.
