Just a note. This bike has been for sale on and off for over the last four years. It was originally sold on eBay, I think about somewhere close to 4 years ago, heavily advertised as the MM number 1, and I have been seeing this bike pop up for sale every now and then on various sites on the internet. If anyone is going to take a shot at it then my advice would be to be very careful before making any payments. Pay after inspecting and having all records and papers in hand. Can´t help it but I have found it strange that this bike is constantly on the market on and off and never seems to sell. Would be nice to have the number one though,,,,,,,,,,

Ahh,,,,The Slingshot,,,,Negosiations in constant progress with the Boss but nowhere near coming to an agreement due to current property investment. But who needs a property and who does not need a Slingshot. The negosiations will continue.

Had the misfortune in beginning of April that a 17 year old girl backed me and my Red Baron down. Had to get a new Fender (Yamaha did not have the right color) and had it painted. Perfect match but also had to change all the things attached to the fender. Well, could say it happened at the right time since I had made some templates for a tank bib, a trunk bib and some saddle bag lid covers and Nanci at Ace High Leather was in the progress of making them. It all came in the post around the same time the fender was ready from the painter so I was able to change everything out and put these nice things from Nanci on the bike. These bibs were the final dress up thing I wanted for the Baron so now FINALLY the bike is complete. Gotta say that Nanci did a great job as always and never ceases to amaze me Below are some pictures of the Baron finally done. AND,,,,,,,,I am done and there will be nothing more,,,,IT IS DONE !!!!!! Period !!!!!!!!!! Came to my mind that maybe I should have the passanger grab rails braided with the same Red and Silver material as the seats and also the brake and clutch levers ? http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Red%20baron%20finished/IMG_0764_zpsbxuogk4a.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Red%20baron%20finished/IMG_0299_zps7cpr2rde.jpghttp://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Red%20baron%20finished/IMG_0296_zpsahujys8q.jpghttp://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Red%20baron%20finished/IMG_0283_zpsov9jhtvf.jpghttp://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Red%20baron%20finished/IMG_0763_zpsyxp7fj8r.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Red%20baron%20finished/IMG_0762_zpswkwhcbum.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Red%20baron%20finished/IMG_0757_zpskigf6vir.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Red%20baron%20finished/IMG_0755_zpsrj9a2foi.jpg

Ace High Leathers saddlebag lid covers modification
StarFan replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks my friend. Well there is more,,,kind of,,, I will try and post a thread tonight with all the upgrades I have done after the crash. Now THIS THING IS DONE ! No more Add Ons I promise myself. Well,,,,I kind of thought about having the passenger grab bars braided with the same material as the seats and the covers since I stripped the rubber off and had them painted,,,and maybe have the levers done the same way gray and Red,,,,,,,Where does this end ??? Think I have to sell the bike and start a new one this winter. Have a Millenium at Craigs place that I itch to take home and do a custom color change,,,,,,,,,Errr,,,,,,, -
Ace High Leathers saddlebag lid covers modification
StarFan replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
I asked Nanci to make me a different kind of covers that I designed for the saddlebag lids on the Red Baron since I did not want to cover the lids completely. The reason is that the Red Baron can´t take to much more of addons in my view. This is how they look. Just a different approach but these need to be fastened by Velcros. I think they turned out nice and they are flat as pancakes. Will post a thread of the upgrades I have done on the Red Baron after I was run down this spring. Had to chance the front fender and everything that attaches to it. It is finally done and finished. No more Add Ons. DONE !!!! http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/IMG_0282_zps2bfq8zea.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/IMG_0266_zpsasolvrbd.jpg -
I have one from Yamaha on my Red Baron. No problems - screwed it in with my hand and tightened it. To thick Chrome plating is my guess ! Be safe my friend, Jonas / StarFan

StarFan replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
The Icelandic Gremlins are multi lingual so no problem there. Be safe Puc My Man and hope to see you soon (or as soon as the boss gives me a travel VISA for the US). Jonas / StarFan -
Hi there Ky.Rider. I might have it. Are you talking about the one that attaches to the saddlebag crash bars ? If so I have at least one or two from my previous bikes. I am at the moment at work in Norway but will be home in Iceland in about ten days. I will look when I get home. If I have it I can ship it to you. No charge ! Be safe, Jonas / StarFan

Another good reason to attend is that I will not serve Fermented Shark this year. Kind of lost a lot of good friends last time I did that (Kristjan "krben" made me do it) Saturday night at 08:00 there will of cause be some Icelandic Black Death. Still trying to work out a deal to sneak over from Iceland but won´t know untill last minute. Regardless the Black Death will be there as usual.

It is the Sparrow from Intermeccanica. Based on the 1999 Sparrow made by Mike Corbin and co. They only made about fifteen of these 2015 models. They are supposed to be launching the new "SOLO" this year and estimate a yearly production of 120 units. Here is their website for more info : http://electrameccanica.com/reserve/

Got a Royal Star Tour Classic! :)
StarFan replied to michaelclaw's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Hi there Michael and Darrin. If I remember right then I tried out Darrin´s bike last summer at Freebirds Maintenance day. Great bike and beautiful work Darrin has done. I did not lean the bike much while riding it since it was not my bike but I felt right away that Darrin´s bike was sitting a lot higher than my 98 Tour Classic. The reason might be that Darren has leveling links installed but not me. Also by looking at pictures of both bikes I can see that our rear header pipes look a little different. On my bike the pipes run in a straight line from the joints where the header pipes join, all the way straight to where the mufflers attached. On Darrin´s they seem to shoot a little upright. I have looked at the part lists for these Tour Classic bikes and they all have the same part number for the 4 into 2 header pipes - from 1997 to 2001 BUT,,,,, The Venture 4 into 2 header pipes have a different part number and have a slight angle upwards in the rear header pipes that will lift the mufflers up higher. By looking at Darrin´s bike I can see that he has the Venture 4 into 2 headers - not the Tour Classic header pipes. That and the leveling links give higher clearance from ground and will minimize the danger of dragging the pipes. No wonder I was dragging my pipes - they must have been sitting about at least 2 to 3 inches lower than Darrin´s. Note though that different riding styles can have a lot to say about if you drag your pipes or not. I have installed Monster Ovals on my Venture (not installed in the picture below) and I also have the leveling links that raises the bike. Still I drag the pipes a little when doing maximum leaning. Fixed the problem by fabricating scratch pads out of Mirror polished stainless steel that protects the muffler tips where the mufflers drag. Only have to change them out every other year or so. I would strongly reckomend to you Michael to use Venture header pipes if you go for the Monster Ovals or any big bulky mufflers. Leveling links would also help a great deal since they also raise the bike some. See pictures attached of the difference between the Tour Classic pipes and the Venture pipes. 1997 to 2001 Tour Classic pipes: http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Maximus/Seat1_zpsddd4bb56.jpg Versus 1999 to 2013 Venture pipes - Note the different angle from where the horn is: http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/RedBaron4_zps65565de1.jpg -
Well I have to admit that the Voyager post threw me off a little bit. Meaning the reactions from one of the posters. But I personally could not see anybody trying to tear his Voyager down in any way - just different opinions and so forth. I like it when people point things out to me what they don´t like about my bikes or the things I design for my bikes. I do not expect everybody to have the same taste as I do. I have also learned that bikes with little or no bling can be as beautiful as bikes with a lot of bling - and believe me I LIKE BLING ! And I learned that because people had different opinions than I on the matter. Made me look at bikes from another perspective. Lets keep on sharing different opinions and lets continue doing it with respect - and it does not hurt to add a little humor. Lets keep our community here versatile and lets be open for different opinions and views. Just don´t disagree with me and we´ll be fine

Bob my friend. I do respect your view on the matter but lets put it this way - just for an example of one of the thighs that could have gone wrong: What if the bike for example would have hit some debris on the road and gotten a flat tire. Do you think that the six year old kid could have handled the wobble and maintained control of the bike. You think the father could have acted quick enough to take control and kept the bike on it wheels ? Just an example of multiple things that can happen when you control a motorcycle. A dear suddenly crossing (you have been there) - you think the kid could have handled it ? The thing is, when one goes out for a ride you always have to be prepared for the unexpected. That is how we minimize the danger of riding a motorcycle - at least that is how I prepare every time I go for a ride. But Bob - This is just my perspective, and again I respect yours - I just don´t agree ! Be safe my friend and keep Becky in the back please I like her to much !
