  1. No wax - No ride !
  2. Tom ! You put to much load on the Ice and it breaks,,,and you will get very cold No get off your butt and polish my bike. And make sure you get to all the crampy places ! If you get it all nice and shiny I might let you take it to work. Seriously,,,Thanks for getting the bike Tom and for all your help Jonas
  3. Well, since I live in Iceland I obviously have had some things shipped over here from the States. Would be kind of funny to complain about the Icelandic custom fees to the guys who sold me my motorcycles How in the world could someone from USA know about the custom tariff in for example Iceland. Bottom line is: The buyer is ALWAYS responsible for custom fees. The only bad thing about quite many eBay sellers is that they purposely overcharge on shipping fees. The buyer can of cause check the postal fees before making a bid but I personally think that this is kind of ruthless. One is selling a product - not auctioning postal charges so to speak. Would never pay 60 US$ for shipping of pair brakepads to Iceland.
  4. Congratulations to you and Jean on your new house. Looks great and I am sure that this roomy garage was the carrot Ride safe Earl and give my best to Jean (she still speaking Icelandic ? ) Friendly regards from Jonas
  5. I have seen them but have no knowledge if there is a manufacturer for them. Could be custom chromed. I´ll have a look and see if I find any trace of this online and post if I find some info.
  6. Wow,,, That is way beyond impressing. Do you actually realise Tom that if/when you finalize this product with user friendly controls/installations/readings and you pack this up in a cool looking casing and market it you could be into serious business ? I have actually quite often wondered when using my carbtune why in the world these things were not made digital. Always thought there was some kind of a technical threshold that prevented it to be possible. But you did it !!! Make sure that if you ever want to sell one of these for the second Gen then put me on the top of your list - I´ll come running ! Thanks for a great article and for sharing this with us. I´ll be watching closely. Maybe you should form a company around this - Digi-CarbTune All the best from Iceland, Jonas aka StarFan
  7. No need to excuse - we all go through this once in a while. I have also been wrong - It was in 1993 when I thought I had made a mistake But since you are a Trial Member I am sure that someone told you that you have to pay:mo money: for every word a supporting member has hammered on his keyboard to answer you. It is only a mere 47 cents per word and there are excactly 1.129 words that have been printed in the answers above (my printing you get as a Trial Member Bonus). So this adds up to 530 dollars and 63 cents But today we have a one time special offer - You can join for only 12 dollars and we will strike out the amount above. This deal is worth 44.22 yearly fees !!!!! You can´t beat that - Only at venturerider.org you get deals like that And in addition - if you join as a member today we will include a dinner with,,,,ehhh,,,,ehhhh,,,,Miss Lola Sanches (picture attached). Don´t miss out on this one day offer - offered only to you my friend We are looking forward to seeing you on our member list and ms. Sanches is just to thrilled to meet you.
  8. Dear Tom. Our prayers and warm thoughts are with you. Will call you guys this weekend. Jonas and Greta.
  9. Well I have two Tour Classics 1998 and both of them cancel the turn signals automatically. Are you sure that yours don´t cancel ? I think it is factory installed since I have not been able to locate any aftermarket wiring from the wires running from the signals on my bike that I have in Iceland. Maybe some of the owners of the 1998 or the 1996 will chime in.
  10. There should not be any gap between the plastic flange and the wheel itself. On my bike when installing the rear wheel I usually get the wheel half way or a little more into the hub in the first try and then there is this 1/4 inch gap. By wiggling the wheel a little or taking it out again and reiinstalling it goes all the way and completely closes the gap. Possiblie you have managed to close the gap by tightening the wheel - I would not know since I never continue assembling unless I have the wheel fully inside the hub. Sounds like your bike is working fine so most likely the wheel is all the way inside the hub. You can easily check it visiually. But a 1/4 inch gap - No, not right ! Ride safely, Jonas aka StarFan
  11. Happy Birthday my friend! And congrats with the International Rally. Call you and Vicky when we get home from Mallorca. Hugs and greetings from Jonas and Greta.
  12. Sure did ! First day all I could say was: Uno cervesa ! Fourth day: Quadro cervesas, dos Fernet Brancha por favor ! Actually Fernet Brancha tastes worse than the Black Death - could you imagine ? Life is nice !
  13. Dear friends. Thank you for the warm greetings. 49 years old for the fourth time in a row. Relaxing with the family in the beautiful Spanish island of Mallorca. Having a great time and preparing for a 8 hour yacht trip tomorrow,,,,,,,can´t wait,,,,,,like a little kid waiting for Christmas. 15. Greetings all fellow Venturers ! Since I am not able to attend this year due to work and a planned trip to Spain with the family this year I thought that I would get somebody from Iceland to attend on my behalf. Had problem getting my mother to attend so my final option was to send Mr. Black Death instead of Momma. Big Tom has received two bottles of that dreadful drink and i hope he will put them in the freezer and serve to those who would like a taste on Saturday evening:group cheers:. Keep an eye on him for me - he got hooked on Black Death and urinated shark when he and Vicky visited us in Iceland last summer. Sorry I could not send the shark - Don´t want the US custom to get pissed at me. Wish you all the happiest time at Freebirds the coming weekend. Warmest regards to you all from, Jonas and Greta (we will see you in 2013 rain or shine).
  16. Dear Tom ! I have said it before and I will say it again,,,, THIS WOMAN IS A TRUE HERO !!! Give her a big kiss from us ! ***** X 1.000.000.000. Congrats to you both and we miss you guys ! Jonas and Greta.
  17. Only way is to raise it more or remove the fender. Trying to do it the way you are wondering would very possiblie cause damages to the fender. Do it the safe way - that´s the only right way to do it !

  24. Greetings fellow Ventureriders ! Saw this bike for sale on eBay and gotta say it is one purdy looking bike http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/One-original-owner-ton-accsesories-alarm-navigation-radio-and-much-more-/290694427948?pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item43aebcf52c ! Noticed these two "Safety Chrome" accessories that I have never seen before. The outer chrome rings on the wheels/rims and the chrome cover where the original horn should be.
