  1. I have noticed that quite many people you would see online at least once a day kind of have vanished so to speak. The reason - don´t have a clue but at least I don´t think it has anything to do with the Boss driving a Harley. Why shouldn´t he drive what he feels like and why should that effect members ? I at least respect him regardless of what he rides. It has also many times over been said that everybody is welcome to the site regardless of what you ride !!! I love this site and I try to read the forum once a day if I am not to busy and usually respond to a post or two. But gotta say I miss many of the members that used to be online all the time. One thing for sure - You are never getting rid of me because this site has members that simply are beautiful people !!! What ever happened to Naked Chat ?? Been -- my a$$ off night after night waiting for it to surface ! Miss you Y*** M***
  2. Well I just bought the passing lamps and mounts and will have them in a week from now. Took a look at the online instructions from Yamaha and have to say it looks rather complicated to get this installed and hooked up. Still the instructions seemed pretty thorough so I am quite confident I can do this. I don´t like the electrical part of it though but guess it will be trial and error. Good luck with your wiring - I am sure you´ll be fine Friendly regards from Iceland, Jonas / StarFan
  3. Not sure they would fit your Tour Delux. Wouldn´t the lower fairing be in the way ?
  4. Let me know if you do that and how it turns out. Would really like to do that for my bike in Iceland and am curious about the cost and so forth. Ride safe, Jonas / StarFan
  5. I think he is talking about the neck trim that is around the frame neck in front of the gas tank. I was thinking about this the other day and I have not been able to find this piece anywhere. Actually I have never seen these for sale for the Royal Stars - ever. If anybody knows where to get one then please post - man I would like one . The other option of cause is getting the original plastic one chromed.
  6. Wish you both all the best and enjoy the nice weather down South.
  7. Did you cut the inside pipes with a Dremel and push/bend them to the sides ? Did you get any popping after doing this ?
  8. Yep ! And usually got them back together - except that stupid grandfather clock my mom had She still talks about it :(
  9. I have a friend in France that I used to buy antique saxophones from. I will send him a line and see if he can contact the French DMV and figure out who is the owner of this motorcycle. I´ll keep you posted. Regards, Jonas / StarFan
  10. You bet it is gonna get pimped my friend. Already in the process of ordering custom upholstered seats from Corbin as well as a pile of CHROME. Will post pictures when completely done. Took the bike pretty much apart and found out the swing arm bearings were shot. Will put new bearings and seals in when I get home from Stupid Norway in about two weeks from now - as well as the world famous clutch upgrade kit from a respectable gentleman in PA http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/SAM_20152_zpscaf765e4.jpg Be safe my friend, Jonas / StarFan
  11. Just add the Santa to the Chrome pile More coming
  12. What a wait,,,,,,Phew,,,,,, With the help of CEWWSC LTD. we delivered the Red Baron to a warehouse in New Jersey last August 23rd. for shipping to Iceland. Finally he has arrived in Iceland after taking a Detour to Netherlands. Got him all safe and sound in the storage shed and am getting him ready for all new fluids and upgrades plus all the safety chrome that is being bought and stored at CEWWSC LTD. *Craig Engleharts Warehouse and Worldwide Shipping Corporation Limited = aka cecdoo* Here are some pictures - he's getting naked little by little! Will post some more pictures when I am all done but that is gonna be after New Year. No damage in shipping except for a bent sidestand. Greatest thanks to FREEBIRD, BIG TOM and CECDOO for all the help through the past two years with the RED BARON ! Without them he would not be mine! http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/SAM_1943_zps60c53b81.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/SAM_1946_zps1846d78c.jpg?t=1382733700 http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/SAM_1962_zpsbf79f2c4.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/SAM_1958_zpsabbd5522.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/SAM_2003_zps3ac7b6a4.jpg
  13. It is the original Yamaha Fender Rail, just a little modified. Cut the lower tubing off and put these lights in and wired up with the headlight. Lights bought on eBay from a seller called fortech - www.fortech-online.com/ Clean and easy install. See thread on the forum http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21161
  14. Gotta think outside the box here: http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Warren%201998%20Tour%20Classic%20II/FenderTrimLights2_zps1a32b9a2.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Warren%201998%20Tour%20Classic%20II/FenderTrimLights_zps1b1b73d7.jpg
  15. These gaskets can be pain to get off. I warmed it up a little and then scraped it off with a razor like blade. Took a while though to get it perfect,,,,,,
  16. The Royal Star was originally introduced in 1996 as Standard and Tour Classic models but the Tour Delux was introduced in 1997 with Hard bags. Last year was 2001. Note, we are talking about the "older" model. In 2005 the "New" Tour Delux was introduced with the Venture motor, different look and other goodies. The last year to my knowledge was 2009.
  17. Hi there David. Did this to my 1998 Royal Star Tour Classic II and can tell you that the bike is fast to say the least. A completely different bike. The bike has the following upgrades: V-Max Cams and stiffer springs. New valves (they were bent) Dyna Ignition Module 32mm Venture Carburators with a jet kit R1 Calipers with a 14mm master cylinder V-Max final drive Clutch upgrade kit Custom seats Venture trunk And lots of safety chrome It will lift the front wheel if pushed hard when taking off. Man that bike is fun - you will not regret doing this to yours You can see pictures of it here: http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=81971

  19. Well my wife ALWAYS wiggles at the exact right time Guess you guys need to talk
  20. Don ! I sincerely hope that you are making some money by keeping this site up and running. I do not think that you will live to see the day that you will break even with the effort, time and money you have spent on this site and its members through the years, regardless of how much money you will make. If you are making a profit then you have earned that hundred times over in my eyes. Wish you all the best with your new site - Jonas / StarFan
  21. No seasickness so far - But on the other hand a certain mr. P. Vivero might need some medical attention in the near future if the Red Baron will not be sailing the seven seas before Friday ! I´ll keep you posted.
  22. You still have your 1999 in the garage or have you gotten rid of it ?
  23. Hi Charles. Yes she sure does and is such a fun person to work with. The scoot is a fun riding bike with a lot of power. Has an upgraded motor with V-Max cams and springs (hence the bikes name, Maximus), 32mm Venture carbs, Dyna Ignition Module, R1 Brake Calipers and the list goes on. Added a Venture Trunk and still have the hard saddlebags to add as well as some cosmetic things. One can keep on forever but I am not far from getting the bike the way where I want it.
  24. Nanci at Ace High Leather took the task this spring of redoing the seats on my 1998 Tour Classic. Here are some pictures of it finalised with a Venture trunk installed. Man that lady made me happy to say the least . Turned out better than I ever expected. Notice how she embedded the Yamaha logo on the backrest And she has started doing some braiding work for the levers. All I can say is that she does a great job and is a real fun person to work with. Am going to install hard bags for the coming summer and ask Nanci to make me saddle bag lid covers in the cream color. Enjoy the pictures http://i907.photobucket.com/albums/ac274/StarFan2/SAM_1521_zps45b6cd14.jpg?t=1379362218http://i907.photobucket.com/albums/ac274/StarFan2/SAM_1522_zps5e985699.jpg?t=1379362225http://i907.photobucket.com/albums/ac274/StarFan2/SAM_1527_zpsd4321f60.jpg?t=1379362169http://i907.photobucket.com/albums/ac274/StarFan2/SAM_1525_zps5b523882.jpg?t=1379362154http://i907.photobucket.com/albums/ac274/StarFan2/SAM_1529_zpsaedbbd69.jpg?t=1379362192http://i907.photobucket.com/albums/ac274/StarFan2/SAM_1531_zpsaa50df70.jpg?t=1379362201
  25. His referring to the rack the trunk itself rests on - not the luggage rack that goes on the top lid.
