  1. Hearing this Ben is so great. Wish you all the best with your journey I am sure it is gonna be the happiest one.
  2. This would be the rollover valve for the gas tank. Hooks up to the breather hose that runs from front of the gas tank. This valve prevents gas flowing out of the breather tube if the bike tips over. Remeber this because when I had my 1998 Tour Classic apart the first time this thing was just hanging there doing nothing so I had to figure out what it was for. BTW - NICE WAY TO GO ! LOVE THE SOUND OF YOUR MONSTER OVALS Did you think about going all the way and put in V-MAX CAMS ? Did that on my bike and have to say that it made all the difference. That bike realy goes. Pictures of the bike can be seen at: http://s1281.photobucket.com/user/jonaslill/media/Maximus/SAM_1521_zps054851af.jpg.html
  3. Thanks Annie. We will see how it turns out when Corbin has delivered. The "Red Baron" is undergoing a complete overhaul even though it only has 30.000 miles on the speedo. Want to make sure everything is perfect. Bought a full suitcase og "Safety Chrome when I was in Boston, MA last month (picture below) so I pretty much have everything ready for installation except the following that are in progress: Having a company in Texas Chroming the ABS plastic neck covers. Nanci at Ace High Leather is gonna make me a custom fuel tank bib as well as custom saddlebag lid covers. Making myself braided handlegrips and levers with fringes. And when that is in house I have everything that I want for the bike Will post pictures when I have finished the upgrades and overhaul http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/a268d852-6376-499e-af78-91c2961fbd49_zpsc477007d.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/SAM_20152_zpscaf765e4.jpg
  4. Thanks Jack. The seat is practically unused so there is no foamwork needed to be done. That might explain the low cost. I hope Corbin will come through on this one and stick to my design. Heard some bad stories from their customers but also a lot of good ones. Never seen a badly produced Corbin seat myself though. I pretty much trust them. We´ll see what they deliver when the time comes.
  5. I am shipping Corbin the same kind of a seat for complete reupholster with studs and conchos. Two color with stiching. Sent them a photoshopped picture of what I exactly wanted and got a price quote back stating: Hi Jonas, That picture you sent ,along with different stitches and materials will not be a problem. Shipping items to PA is about $45 Cost on getting seat recovered is $ 225 Price on the trunkrest pad is $ 199 Backrest with chrome plate is $329 Have to say that I do not find this all that expensive compared to motorcycle dressup things in general. Apart from the drivers Back Rest - it is a little pricy. Here below are some pictured of what I want done for this price: http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/4FINALCorbinseat_zps13a21adf.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/5FINALDriversBackrest1_zps6e8a57aa.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/1FRONTVIEWFINALBackrestFront_zpse14596e3.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/2SIDEVIEWFINALBackrest_zps3c3fedc3.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/The%20Red%20Baron/3BACKVIEWFINALBackrest_zpse85f7146.jpg
  6. Chris. Check the Carburator joint hoses (see picture below). I had a very similiar problem after synchronizing the carbs on my 1998 Tour Classic. It has caps instead of the hoses that yours have and I forgot to put one or two of the caps on. See if one of the hoses on either side has come loose or off or is leaking. http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/Carburatorjointhoses_zps0442affe.jpg
  7. Just list the symptons and a bunch of guys will chime in and get you on the road ! BTW - NIce looking bike you have there !
  8. Will do Bob. Am not very optimistic finding one who does this for individuals - only found bigger companys that clearly state that this is for industrial bulk loads only. Well - could have this done in China but am kind of not to excited about shipping my covers over there. Might work out though - one never knows. I´ll keep you posted what route I take - if any !
  9. Would anybody know of a company in the USA or in the UK that offers chroming of ABS ? The companies I have found in the UK only do this for a bulk load but not for individuals. Anybody ? The "Red Baron" wants to have his neck covers chromed.
  10. Thats the way to go ! Neat car Drive safe Wes and congratulation Jonas / StarFan
  11. Man your getting old Bubber
  12. Hi Rick. Any pictures of a reshaped passanger pillow top ? Do you reshape the foundation pan or just the foam ?
  13. Dear Bob. The Lord works in mysterious ways as we know. He is just telling us to pray ! The prayer is the answer to this situation. I have no doubt. I will pray for the Lord Jesus Christ to welcome him and take him into his arms and kingdom. God bless you, Jonas
  14. The thickness of the steel in these gastanks is gonna prevent you from removing any serious dent from it with airpressure. Once they are dented you can only get that out by a filler and a paint job. There is a small possibillitie removing these dents with a tool that saxophone repairmen use - a sttel rod with a ball on the end and comes in various shapes, bends and sizes. This would though depend of the location and size of the dents. Seen this done to a saxophone with amazing results. I´ve investigated this quite thoroughly and had a dozen of qualified body shops look at a dented tank I have from the Red Baron - same answer - no can do - to thick - and my dents are rather shallow. Ended up buying a tank from Germany from an insurance bike. Almost like brand new - with just a very small dent in a hidden spot. Still a friend of mine who is a woodwind/saxophone repair man is gonna have a go at my tank and see if this is doable. Will be interesting to see. I´ll post.
  15. You can use Locktite (the Blue type) on them but use it sparingly and make sure not a drop spills on the plastic. In time it will eat it up. You can also use a bit of teflon tape to make them stiffer in the threads. I have Locktite on mine - did put it on the threads and then wiped any excess away so there was only a thin layer in the threads. Worked for me and they wont get loose.
  16. Bob you got it. Maybe you had some inside information We were in Boston last week and met up with Craig and Kim for the weekend. Had a great time to say the least. Here we are dining at the "Deuxave". What a great restaurant. The ol Pal had a 61 Birthday http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Boston%202013/SAM_2055_zps5190fe7b.jpg

  21. And Eddie if you have the passing lamps then cover your fender with a thick cloth or towel since you will have to loosen the passing lamps bracket and get them out of the way to be able to get the fairing off without scratching it. The clearance between the lamps and the fairing is very tight.
  22. Dear Brad. Prayers are sent from Iceland. He WILL pull through ! Warmest regards, Jonas / StarFan
  23. Hi there Tom. I have taken off and reinstalled the rear fender on both a 1998 Tour Classic and a 2000 Venture. There really isn´t much to it. Regarding the electrical vires then they run through rubber grommets that are covering the pullthrough holes in the fender and also there are soft metal strips on the inside to hold the wire harness to the curve of the fender. What I did was I took a picture of how the wires were connected to the lights in the back, made some notes on a piece of paper. Then I started undoing the bolts that hold the fender to the fender frame and the side chrome rails. That frame is an individual piece that is bolted to the main frame of the bike just in back of the battery box (see picture) to hold and support the fender. To be able to pull the wireharness out you will need to get this frame out of the way. It will stay with the fender till you release the last two bolts by the batteribox but it actually came with my fender since it was kind of grown on. This is basically a take bolt out / put bolt back in job apart from the wiring but if you take pictures of the connections then you should have no problems at all. It is vice to have a extra set of hands available when reinstalling the fender (as well as all bigger body parts for that matter) to hold the fender in place when inserting the first bolts and so forth. Note that I am writing this by memory (bike is not at home) so anybody please feel free to correct me if I am mistaken somewhere in this writing. http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/SAM_0789_zps8c36397c.jpg?t=1384430786 http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/SAM_0785_zps615e320f.jpg?t=1384430760 http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/SAM_0784_zps7827b859.jpg?t=1384430765 http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/SAM_0776_zps956d05a6.jpg?t=1384430780 http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/SAM_0821_zps80d6ab01.jpg
  24. Greetings fellow members. I am slowly but "securely" rebuilding/dressing up my 2000 Venture "The Red Baron" and bought OEM driving lights and the mount bar. But I would like to change the lamps to AMBER LED. The reason is that I have installed a Amber/Yellow headlight bulb and would like the driving lamps to match. Also The Amber really is a nice combination to the Candy Red colour of the bike. Last reason is that I would like to lessen the stress on the ignition. Am also looking for AMBER LED headlight. Anybody know if this is available ? Any help, advice or discussion wouyld be highly apreciated Friendly regards from Iceland, Jonas / StarFan
  25. Keep em coming Don More the merrier ! Been using quite a few of the sponsors and have to say that every single one of them has been great to deal with in every and any way. Thanks Don and ride safe my friend, Jonas
