  1. It is a Tour Deluxe. 1997 XVZ1300L = Tour Deluxe 1997 XVZ1300A = Tour Classic
  2. Wow,,,,that is one nice bike you got. it is great fun having an old bike that looks like new ! Enjoy !
  3. I have a 1998 Tour Classic that has the emblems on the front fender. They still look like brand new and solid. No bending or pitting at all. They are glued on with Double Tape. No bolts.
  4. Some owners take them off for a cleaner look they say. I am not sure, but I would lean towards that the Tour DeLux had this emblem as a standard thing. Would be very surprised if an emblem that stated the bikes type was an optional thing. These you can buy on eBay for little money if you want one.
  5. Corbin has an exact match to. Don´t know though if they sell out material.
  6. Hey Ben ! Are you coming to Toms rally in August ?
  7. Mike ! You don´t get it do you ?
  8. Dang,,,your Icelandic is good !!!!!!!!
  9. Sorry - it is to late for that. I, #StarFan the Viking# was there last year. Since then they changed the name. Now it is simply called "Ville"
  10. Ahhhhh,,,,A cafe ! My bad - no offense ment though. Enjoy the trip - and the coffee. I´ll put the bottle of Black Death away for now
  11. Dang,,,you got some funny names of places and towns in the US. Loveless ? Really sounds like a sad blue place. But then again I am sure it is a nice place though or is it a company maybe ? O.k. - a coffee shop ? Where do you live ? In Loveless ! When did you move there ? When I got divorced ! We only got beautiful and logical names here in Iceland like: Ondverdarnes Stykkisholmur Reydarfjordur Husavik Thorlakshofn Trekyllisvik Hrutafjordur Melrakkasletta Bolungarvik Budardalur Hafnarfjordur And they are all so easy to spell
  12. I just bought a set of Vance and Hines Monster Ovals for my Red Baron - a 2000 Venture. Been listening to some sound clips and looking at videos at various mufflers and have to say that I really like this deep rumble. Not loud but really deep - sounds like a small block V8. Can´t wait for getting them to Iceland and put them on my bike. But then of cause the sound and loudness is just a matter of taste and longings.
  13. Note that if you use double sided tape then it is good to gently warm the surface of the tank with a heat gun as well as the tape when it has been applied to the emblem and the surface protective strip removed. Has worked good for me. Also make sure to clean all surfaces extremely good. These tapes come in many different qualities and some of them are not worth a dime - hope you find the right one.
  14. Hey Puc ! This is one thing you do not want to miss. Great crowd, great food, great music, great hosts, and great riding. And we get to ride SPANKYMS NEW CAN AM all over the place Actually dying to see it and hear how Spankym likes it . Would be so great meeting you there. I am travelling 2.800 miles to attend so you can travel these measlie 480 miles for sure I am bringing a friend from Iceland and I am told Samuel is also gonna attend. What would be grater than meeting you and Samuel at the same time. Met Samuel last October in Boston and we had a great time to say the least. Man I miss Samuel
  15. Congrats Spankym. Enjoy your new ride - Sure is gonna be strange though not seeing you riding your black mistress ! Ride safe Buddy - see you at Toms in August.
  16. I would guess you are missing a small spring in the carburator assembly. When I did the carbs on my former 1998 Tour Classic I had the exactly same problem. The idle was high up but I could push the arm down and the idle would be fine - by realesing the idle went again up to 2000 to 2500 rpm´s. Took me a whole night to figure this out with a help of a friend. We found out that there was one little spring missing. It was d#%"$ difficult to get it in the right position but got it done with a lot of patience. See photo. it was either one of these little buggers. Don´t get fooled by the size of the pictures. These guys are small. http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/Untitled_zps47b2813a.jpg
  17. Hi Eck. I have the front brake steel lid for the resorvoir on the handlebar if thats the one you are referring to. You are welcome to it if you want it. Will ship it free of charge. Won´t be home though untill 10 days from now but can ship then if you want (from Iceland). Let me know
  18. It does that because the plexiglass the windshield is made of has a film applied to it that wil not withstand the chemicals in the Rain-X.
  19. Happy Birthday Puc ! Enjoy your day !

Well, he does not show up in the member list. Surely somebody that knows how to reach him will chime in.

  22. That is one sweet ride for a great price ! Enjoy !
  23. Happy birthday dear Robin. Me and Christian the "Sexy Vikings" are looking so much forward to meet you in August
  24. Hey Buddy. Well, I am sure your wish will be granted. Give Kim a hug from us and Christine and Billy to I´ll be there Frogger and looking forward to meet you again Make sure you get the rims good Don´t know about the wet kiss though - have to think about it The trick is to warm the chrome channels mildly with a heat gun so they get just a little flexible and then warm the area pretty good that you are gonna install them on. Just don´t overdo it because of the clear coat. Then it is easy. I took the parts off the bike that I installed these on except for the fenders. I´ll be there sweetie and can´t wait Thanks Puck Actually Iceland should have been named Greenland. But the guy who found Greenland was obviously a business man - Not so much the guy who found Iceland
  25. Yes, the chrome outlines on the bags, trunk, lower fairing, gas tank and fenders are plastic chrome channels that you warm up a little and then press on. One has to be careful not heating them to much - I heated the surface of the places I was putting this on a little more and this thing stuck really hard. Really highlightes the bike.
