  1. This should walk you through it. It is actually quite easy to do. Just remember that you have to adjust both at the handlegrip as well as down under the gas tank. Let me know if the attacvhment is not readable or big enough. I can then send it to you in email if you wish. Friendly regards, Jonas / StarFan Adjusting the throttle grip free play 1.pdf
  2. Just do it Don. It is just a question of adapting to new things and I am sure it will be an improvement. Be safe ! friendly regards from Iceland, Jonas
  3. Yes, the 2009 was the last production year of the Royal Star Tour DeLuxe.
  4. Yes, Dion does. Just bought three sets from him.
  5. Greetings. If I could make a suggestion then I would have a car painter match the colours as close as he can by using a scanner. The scanner will pick out the closest match that is in the automotive database. You will hardly see any difference once the bike is painted. That way you can always get paint for the bike from any regular car paint dealer. Much cheaper than buying it from Color Rite but they are the only ones that have the codes for the Yamaha motorcycles. That way you can choose who to buy from in the future if paint work is ever needed. I would also suggest to use scratch free clear coat, at least on the gas tank. A little pricier but in my eyes worth it. Just my five cents,,,,,,,,,,,
  6. Yamagrl. You did an amazing job on your bike. Sincerely hope that I will be able to see that bike in person one of these days as well as meeting you. Ride safe. Jonas / StarFan
  7. I bought a Baggershield and put on my previous Venture. Opted for the tallest one, 17" clear, and I look straight through it with no problems. The top line is way over my sight line. But I am not that big 5,9 - but I love that shield. Gonna get a new one for my Red Baron for sure. But note that your passenger will always have some buffeting. No way around that since the passenger sits so much higher than the rider. You can see a picture of the bike/shield on Baggershields homepage: http://www.baggershield.com/baggershield-yamaha-royal-star-venture-windshield-17-p-74.html
  8. Hmmm,,,everything in your post sounds VERY interesting. Now when will you put that Millenium up for sale ? Hope Cecdoo / Craig does not see this post,,,,,,,,,,
  9. If I understand you right then you want to embed them in the aftermarket fairing like Bubber said. Well it can certainly be done. Have a look at this thread - post number 7, 11, 13 and 14 by COOP / Bob. He embedded speaker pods to his saddlebags. You could do the same with the fairing. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=85341
  10. I have seen them on a Royal Star and in my opinion they are to big and clumsy for the front fender. To dominating. If I were to put something with a light on the fender instead of the Yamaha ornament I would custom make something that would look neat. Have actually thought about this and might do it this winter. But hey,,,,The above is just my opinion/taste.
  11. This is what I did. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21161 Not sure this is what you are looking for though,,,,,,,,,,,,
  12. I actually like the color combo on Don´s HOG site. Very clear and easy to read.
  13. Common guys ! We got great bikes that serve us well. If/when Yamaha markets a new Venture / Tourer then we will just have a look at it when the time comes and make up our minds weather we want to get it or continue enjoying our great Royal Stars. Some years ago took the course of not expecting anything from Yamaha in the Touring class - not now and not ever. Got a great bike as is and don´t need another one. The above statement does not in any way reflect the opinion of the companys,,,,,,,,,,,
  14. You mean like that one Condor ? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cICS9MtRRw][YouTube:8cICS9MtRRw[/ame]] and http://bcove.me/8lzwg9sb
  15. Sorry Barry. We already sent them all to Virgin Islands

  17. Happy Birthday My Friend !
  18. Congrats Becky and Bob. Enjoy your trip to the fullest. Great way to celebrate your anniversary ! Warmest regards, Jonas
  19. Thanks for the concern Joe. Luckily this Volcano is in the middle of nowhere, on the edge of the north side of Iceland´s biggest glacier "Vatnajokull. No habitants in the area so everybody is safe. It does though produce a lot of Sulphur that blows over the country and people in small towns on the East Coast that have lung problems or asthma are sometimes adviced to stay inside their houses as much as possible when the pollution gets serious. They are predicting that this could go on for months or even years but we are hoping for the best. The only real danger is if it melts through the icecap of the glacier - then we will have a serious explosions and ashfall beyond belief. Lets pray that it won´t happen.
  20. And Scary when you live there ! But we are kind of used to it
  21. Bought a kit from this guy for my first bike a Yamaha Virago 1100. Great product and easy to install. Will buy another one for my recently bought 2000 Millenium. Can´t go wrong on this one !!!!!!!
  22. Well our Volcano in Bardarbunga that erupted the 31st.of August is still active and looks like it is gonna go on for quite a while. Here is some cool Video taken yesterday from a chopper. The Volcano does not look that big but make no mistake - this is much bigger than the Video implies. Enjoy - and lets just hope it does not blow up through the Icecap of the glacier - Man, that would mean trouble to say the least and Iceland would again be the most hated nation by other European countries due to ash fall and air traffic restrictions. 23. No, I would never buy a brand new Royal Star Venture. Why ? Do I not like them ? You bet I do. But the prices on used ones are so low that buying a new one would in my eyes be throwing money out the window. But don´t get me wrong. The prices being offered by dealers on 2013 unused Ventures is a GREAT price for a brand new two up touring bike. But lets look at the market. For example a 2008 model with 34.000 miles just recently sold on eBay for 5.400 US$. Tip top shape with a lot of accessories. Thats about 9.500 US$ lower than a brand new 2013 one. Same bike, more accessories and at least 160.000 miles left on the motor if not more . Another example from eBay: A 2008 with a Voyager Trike kit, 17.236 miles. Beautiful bike. Listed for Buy it Now: 8.500 US$ - Seller accepted buyers offer that is lower than the Buy It Now price, but offer price tag is hidden. I would blindly guess 7.500 to 8.000 US$. The thing is, Yamaha´s failure with marketing and supporting these bikes with modest upgrades and accessory´s, like Freebird pointed out, has caused the market to reject them, hence the low price used ones are selling for. I simply love the Royal Stars and for the price I will continue to buy them as long as I need a bike to tinker with and ride. Simply a great bike at a very attractive price. And even the price on a new unridden 2013 is great. I just can´t see why I should spend the money on it when able to get a perfectly good, same kind of a bike, with a lot of accessories for a fraction of the price.
  24. Yes, I bought the harnesses from Steve. What a great product and it is a simple plug and play thingie. Before getting Steve´s harness I had the light bar hooked up with only running and brake lights - no turn signals. Was frustrated since I wanted the whole package so to speak. Wrote a short message on the forum and Steve replied immediately and told me about his harness. He went out of his way to ship this to me as fast as possible and gave me all and every information needed as well as explaining how his harness works (still I don´t have a clue about how this works but don´t need to - IT WORKS Am at the moment installing the bar and the harness to my friends bike. Thanks again Steve for your great product and your helpfulness
