  1. I just rebuilt my carbs they where acting like a stuck float. Did not find anything bad, changed needle and seats anyway. Put it all back together bike started right up using chock, warmed up nice then when I put on the carbtune to sync carbs the left front carb reading was all the way up on the meter. The left rear was half way up but did not pulse like the right side did. Did try to adjust the carbs with no change. Any ideas????? My first problem was popping from the exhaust on idle with a strong gas smell.
  2. My o rings look ok but I am changing them anyway.
  3. I just pulled my carbs off and took of the float bows on the two carbs that had gas coming from the breather hose, and found nothing that looked wrong. All seals looked good, needle looked good and no junk in the bowls. Any thing else I might check? Is there any member here sell a carb kit for the Sec. Gen.?
  4. Thank You Jamsie for the two posts , they are a big help, thanks for the tip ACE for giving me something to look for. I have the bike torn down to the carbs but have not removed them yet. I will let everybody know what I find .
  5. I could use a little help from anybody with a little no how on the RSV Sec Gen carbs, I put a post in the Sec Gen Teck Talk with my problem. HELP.
  6. I hope someone can help me with my problem, took the 08 RSV for a ride last night and once it warmed up it started to make small popping sounds out the exhaust when at idle with a strong gas smell. I have had the bike out other times this year and it ran just fine. I had just changed the spark plugs and sinked the carbs. It is also pumping gas out of a rubber hose connecting the two left side carbs, I put yellow tape on the hose. When sinking the carbs I was getting a funny reading out of the front left carb. Any ideas???? Tried to post pics but no luck. Gas came out of the over flow hose only once it warmed up. Starts good and has good response, just getting to much gas.
  7. Did you ever think about triking your RSTD? Some of use went that way and really enjoy it.
  8. Are any of our three wheel members going to the Trike Talk rally in Maggie Valley N.C. this year? It is the week before our Int. Rally. The wife and I are going to do both of them. O yeah Happy Easter.
  9. Has anybody used a PCW clutch kit? I am thinking of going to a better clutch since I had the bike triked and ride two up a lot and now pulling a trailer also. I have over 20,000 miles on the bike now, it seams ok but I would rather change it now being we are planning this years rides rite now.
  10. The wife and I are planning to go to this rally but we will be taking the ferry across because we want to first see my granddaughter in Grand Rapids.

  12. I have a Carbon One aux. tank on my RSV, it is the best way to go. He makes a very good tank and fuel transfer system.

  15. I am thinking about getting a Argo Response for my place in northern Michigan, anybody here have anything good or bad to say about them. New ones cost way to much. I just want it for deer hunting and playing around, by the way I first have to cross a 30ft wide cannel. I will be selling my 87 Venture std if anybody is interested.
  16. Last August 16 my wife and I did a ride at Northwood Meadows senior living center in Cass City Michigan witch in in the thumb of Michigan, it was called Gypsy Ride. It was our first time there and it was great. The ride went from the middle of the thumb east to lake Huron then north to port Austin then back to Cass City for a really good lunch. All the money raised stays in house for what ever they need. This year it was an Automated External Defibrillator or AED. Today we received a very nice letter from them thanking us for joining in the ride and to help purchase the AED. We plan to do this ride again next year for sure so if any other Michigan riders want to join in mark it down now for a ride to do next year. This was the first thank you I ever got for doing a ride.

  23. We have been to 3 International Rallies, we have enjoyed all of them. Meeting new people at each rally from the venture rider site. MD doesn't involve any rides, at International you get to see different parts of the country. Distance means a lot to a lot of people. A 2 day ride is very doable, more expense and vacation time with further distances, but variety of rides is great. If in same place every year, some people might have too far of a ride and never attend. Changing locations, gives some people a better chance at attending and meeting new people.
  24. Can I get the address to the Microtel Hotel from somebody?
