I had the vents before the pegs. When I put the pegs on below the vents I couldn't adjust the pegs for me. So what I did was put some masking tape on the bottom of the vents and cut the bottom off and inch or so, so that I could get the right adjsustment for my pegs and the vent still turn in and out and still be functional. Looking at them you couldn't even tell I cut them.

I made a revision on my Harber Freight tire changer today. Was looking at NoMar tire changer site the other day and noticed they had a new clamp down for their changer which uses some small plastic spools. I then found that they sold the spools and screws for $12. Did a search for options on purchace of spools and found an article on a GL1800 forum were a guy had added these spools to his HF. So I ordered the spools and purchased 3 ea. 3" x 1-1/2" x 1/4" flat bar and taped for the screws on the 1/4" plate and then mounted them on the HF tire changer. Had to change the front tire so I tried it out and it worked great. Just a little slip but you can strap a spoke to the cross bar and take care of that. The tire no longer pops out while trying to get the tire over the rim on the first bead. No more worrying about scrathed rims using rags or thin rubber. It worked great. This is the spools. I used 2 washers under the spools so they now give plenty clearance for the disk. The screws are 5/16 x 18 . A few pics of the set up. On one pic you can see the rideon on the rim (some had ask how messy it was). Just wiped it off with a damp rag. Very little gets on the rim, see the 2 pics of the tires and all of the rideon is lined all the way around the bottom of the tire.

I use rideon and I still balance my tires first. Not sure if you use it without balancing, although it claims to balance tires. As for as cleanup on the rims it washes right off and will not harm aluminum rims like fixaflat. I know because I have done it several times with no effect on the rims.

Glad they found it quickly and you are ok. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

We got to our house from Baton Rouge about 4PM today with Brad and Lona with their bike on my son's trailer. They are doing pretty good, Brad is a little sore and Lona is hurting some but she said the meds are doing pretty good. I'll get them to Mark's (MeanDog) tomorow and load the bike on the trailer they came down with. Hope the meds help Lona on their ride home. We are fixing to sit down to fried fish, shrimp and coleslaw.

Brad and Lona are safely at my sons house in Baton Rouge. We will spend the night here so Brad can check on the bike tomorrow. I was in BR today and was on my way to meet them for a backroad ride home to my house in Bogalusa. What a shock when that call came and I headed straight for them, then on to the hospital. Brad is sore and sure to feel it tomorow but they didn't think anything is broken. Lonna however has a broken clavacil. But as all have said thank God they could walk away. The bike is totaled but I'm so glad that they aren't .
