Check that the kickstand switch is not stuck. If it is grimy looking you need to clean it with some wd40 or electrical cleaner. You can take a screwdriver and gently pry the stem of the switch out to see if it is stuck.

Ok, about three weeks ago the cast came off and walking boot went on but doc didn't want any weight on it yet so had to continue with cruthches. Last week he said the bone was building mass and looked good so I could ditch the crutches but still have to wear the boot. I can put weight on it pretty good and walk around. Go back to ortho in another week and hopefully that will be about it. It's been long enough LOL. The coumadin is still not regulated right, it's been a little high and regular doc is gradually decreasing my dose till it gets right. HOpe to see you all in Aug.

About six weeks for me, in a walking boot now so hopefully just a coulple more to go. Went out today and took it off the side stand and cranked um up. Think I could ride one now, but I found out quick what Dan talks about, the warden stuck her head out and gave me the evil eye:confused24:.

Coumadin is an aticoagulent, so it prevents the blood from cloting. The ptinr test is what is used to tell how long it takes for the blood to clot and I think how much it clots. If these levels were to high any little bruise could cause internal bleeding, as well as a cut could cause you to bleed to death, because the blood would not clot at all or take too long. Lovenox is also an anticoagulent and althou works diffrently and it is used to break up or disolve existing clots so the boody can absorb them. It is given until the coumadin levels are reached to take care of any existing or new clots. This answere may not be 100% accurate but it is my understanding of it.

Funny you should ask. Just kidding, yes they did:clap2: just got home a little bit ago and then had a problem with my connection from my router and just got that figured out. The coumadin level today was at 1.9 so just to make sure for the weekend he let me go but I have to go to ER next 3 nights and get the lovenox shot. I'll go back to see the doc monday to recheck levels. Feels good to be home and after while will go and get this cast off. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and well wishes, still have to keep an eye on it for a while but will be back in the saddle soon:thumbsup2:. Dan, Just need to get you straight and we can meet and ride again. Praying for you buddy.

Good to hear from you John, no ped sock or press. cuff, I still have a cast on my right foot to above the calf on my leg. That's where mine is today 1.7. Getting the lovenox shot in the stomach and that will cease when it reaches 2. The shot are exp. too, $100 plus each. Don't know how much the ins. will pay if I go home and have to come each day and get one.

You hang in there to Dan, we keep thinking about you and hope it all works out.

Well I'm still in the hospital and the coumadine level is being slow about coming up. The last couple days from 1.3, 1.6, and today 1.7. The level has to be 2 before he will let me go home. Normally takes about 5 days(yesterday). The cast was supposed to come off tuesday so we rescheduled for frid. This is a bummer and these 4 walls are closing in. OH and all of you that submitted MD pics they were great, thanks. Oh well enough crying.

YOu got it. And yes he'll be grinnning, (from one pilot to the other).

Not out of the hospital yet. Doc just came in and the pt level for the coumadin is at 1.6 up from 1.3 yesterday. It has to be at 2 before he will let me go home. Maybe tomorrow. Thanks to all who have prayed for me, this is the best group of people around.

For what you have been going thru the last couple years you have the right to whine a little. Just hope it all works out for you. You just keep on keeping us informed

You always say that. You know you love it:rasberry:

The main thing is you two are ok, the bike can be fixed. That's tough on a brand new bike though, sorry.

Thanks to Brad and Lonna for putting this out and thank you all for your prayers. My wife just brought my laptop up to the hospital with the sprint card so now I can get on line. I knew this was a possibility with a imobile foot and leg in a cast but my doctor thought, and so did I that I was getting good enough movement to prevent a blod clot. So I had already been having problems sleeping in the bed with a bad bruise on the right side of my chest, so when it began to hurt again the other day I thought it was related to that again but it did seem lower. Well the pain got worse and since I have a history of kidney stones I began to think that is what it was. Well it got no better and my daughter and daughter-inlaw kept after me to go to the ER and according to the Dr. it is a good thing I did. He was pretty blount and told me that most people don't make to the ER when the clot makes it to the lungs. Anyway I am doing better and just want to thank God and all of you for your prayers. The pain in my chest is easing now and the doc said I may get to go home Wed. Thank you all
