Hi everybody, I've been working down here in Texas for a while now on IKE clean up in EXON Mobil/ Beaumont. Just wondering if any members live in the area that I may get a chance to meet up with? I'll be heading back home to Ohio Dec. 23 for the Holidays, thanks, looking forward to meeting another member!! Ron/ Pappa Bear

Oil in Radiator
Pappa Bear replied to ju772's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The tweenkie thing is the air breather assembly. It contains passages for air,oil and coolant. Mine leaked so I picked up the correct gaskets, actually they are rubber like an O ring, yep they are flimsy little boogers that are specially made to fit all contact points and grooves in these things. Save yourself the headache and don't try the sealant stuff. Another tip, It is alot easier to replace the gaskets with the carbs off the bike, but it can be done with them on, cause I did it! It wil make you say things that you never thought would come from your mouth!!!! Really good luck to you on this -
The Front End Wiggle :-(
Pappa Bear replied to igya's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
mine has 30k on it and it has the slow wobble, mostly when I turn into the driveway which is slow and downhill. That downhill slope really adds the weight to the frontend magnifying the weak stock fork brace! -
No, the cover is black and round shaped and is on the lower half of the cylinder, if your not looking for it you will look right past it. I stopped at his place today after work, he said he just got done lookin at it and the bolt on the one side was finger loose! He snugged them back down and was gonna take it for a spin later to see if that was the leak. The dealer said the cover was a tension adjustment cover, and a new rubber gasket was about a buck 50. I'll let ya know how it turns out.

thanks for the replies everyone, I'm sure it will ease his mind having a little more knowledge about it

the cover I'm talking of straight behind the front tire and only about an inch across. Where is the oil filter located at on his bike?

A friend at work picked up a 2001 V Star 1100. It has a small oil leak on the front of the motor! Is this a common problem with these motors? The leak looks like it might be coming from a small cover behind the front exhaust pipe, the cover looks to be round with 2 Allen bolts on either side to tighten. Does anyone know what hat cover is for? Thanks for the help

I have a 89 VR, want to replace brake pads front and rear. Where should I get the pads and do I need to do anything to the rotors before the install

Hi, just wanted to stop by and say howdy and hoping everything is well at your home! Ron
-
What kind of shape is it in and how much $$$. How about the other side? got that one also?
-
The antenna on my 89 VR will not tighten down all the way! When it starts to get snug it feels like it lets go! I think I would like to change to a 2 antenna set up ( looks mostly). I've also noticed my CB and Radio stations aren't coming in as good any more. Any suggestions?

Do you have any other goodies?????

Adding air?, Isn't that what the class system does?

Before you yank those carbs off take a look at the diaphragms, and check for holes in the rubber.
-
Did you try to adjust them at all? Are you saying there was 0 vac on 1 carb and a little on another? What does your motor feel like during accelloration, smooth or a bit rough?
