Hey. can't blame you for trying. The state salts the road so much in front of my house the road is pure white some days. They say NY is in trouble fiscally but you couldn't prove it by me on the amount of salt they use. Condor if you need snow come on over we have plenty. Carpal-tunnel syndrome is a bummer you'll be glad you fixed it when you heal.

Personally I like my drivel served with alittle gruel.

Not nuts. I know a young couple here that built a nice barn. Built a small apartment in the back and lived in it for a few years before saving enough to build their home. If your renting it and the owner won't let you build anything in it you could always buy a camper to live in and park it in there with your toys.

Pity, is one thing I can do without! :no-no-no:Thanks for not thinking about me for long.

Never was a Norton fan but back in the day we would have thrown some nobbies on taped a pie plate to the headlight and motod that puppy! No lie.:rotfl:Some of the bikes we motod were 175 Bridgestone, Triumph 250 {think it was called a Tiger}:rotfl:90 Bridgestone. Definately not motocross bikes but we had fun. Wow am I old. Just my impression of it, the frame being so exposed like it is.It does have a clean look to it ,no clutter. GeorgeS that Busa sounds scary fast.

There are two classes of people anymore the poor some would say working class but anymore I say the poor are the working class and the rich. Definitely a bike for the rich.

I believe you need a cutting torch, sledgehammer, chisels, pipe wrench and a couple of worn out Crescent wrenches. Oh yeah, a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide, mythiolate and band aids. :rotfl::rotfl:I've never taken the rear shock out but I have removed the bottom suspension before to install grease fittings. Just put it up on the center stand. It was fairly easy and the shock was just hanging there. I doubt if it would have taken much more wrenching to have it out. Shouldn't be too hard of a job Reiny maybe a couple of hours.

You are absolutely right! Make it illegal. But like you say the TAX, gotta have the TAX :mo money:without it were would the money come from to fund the next lame brain scheme.

Never picked up the habit myself but wife smokes. She had it kicked once. Like Buddyrich she did the hypnotizing route and I can say that it did work for about 4 years. Then with all the added stress of rearing grandchildren full time she is back at it again. I complain but gets me nowhere. I hate the things never could understand the pull, plus the devastation that they do to your body. Should be banned for sale.

No need for paper manuals unless you like to have one. There are first gen manuals in the tech section on this site http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3384

Ok, one more thing I do that might save some aggravation. I call the credit card company of the card that I am going to use for my trip purchases and tell them I am leaving on a trip and will be traveling all over the U.S.. Granted you are connected to someone who marginally knows the english language {maybe}, and have to answer questions like "what states are in the western United States that might be in the United States"? But after all this nonsense you at least won't have your credit card shutdown because of interstate usage. Don't ask how I know. If your job causes you to do a lot of traveling you might not have this issue ever come up.

Doubt it, it's to quiet.:rotfl:

Besides the smell of gas has there been any other tell-tale signs of excess gasoline usage? Whats your M.P.G., does your fuel pump seem to run alot if just turning bike to on, how many times to turn on to fill carb bowls? Like has been said check condition of plugs, time for new plugs, check for weak spark before installing. I've lost just one cylinder before but still impressed with the smoothness of the motor, just boggy.

Good ideas from everyone. The wife uses the motel shampoo that comes in the little bottles for laundry soap when we do the wash at laundromats. Plus put some dryer sheets in your saddlebags. They keep them smelling good plus you can use them to get rid of static cling when you dry your clothes. The best advice so far STAY OFF THE INTERSTATES, TAKE YOUR TIME,HAVE FUN.

I've had mine {Stebel} for over a year and have to agree it is a lifesaver. On the other note, have any of you ever reached down to use the turn signals and hit that horn button instead? WOW will that scare the bejuses out of you.:rotfl: -

I guess it is my view of non-essential items that skews my vison. Something that saves me money in the long run is a must. We try to never spend money we don't have unless it is for land. This boat rocking is only bad if you have accidentally caught a wave too. It seems we all have to suffer somehow even if it is something as minor as the local dealership closing. There is a local bike shop having a auction in the neighboring town in a few weeks. They were called "Uncommon Motorcycles" Dealt with Ducati, Royal Enfield and a few others. Don't know the reason for closing but could be the times. We are looking to buy a new vehicle but are really hesitant in our choice right now. For one nothing is tripping the trigger as far as versatility. Plus the fact that with all this BS flying about the future of the big three we are wondering like the rest of the world if we buy one of their vehicles now will they be around to stand behind it. That alone is a big factor in why everyone has changed their view on spending. It is time the big three started to build a car that stops falling apart so soon. I try to take pretty good care of my vehicles. But this constant domino effect that happens with all U.S.A. made products has to stop. Buy a Japanese made car or truck and ther seems to be less overall replacement of components. Why? It has to be because of better manufacturing overall.

I would think it should be the other way around. I myself will never forget $4.00 a gallon gas and the effect it can do to my bottom line. Therefore I will be riding a motorcycle more often and buying fuel efficient cars form now till doomsday. The gas costs will be back with more of a vengeance.
