Thanks for the links. We have no set time yet for the trip as it all depends on the weather to get the farm buttoned up so we can ride. It will happen but the exact time is fluid. I figure we can do it at our pace in 6 days round trip maybe more maybe less..

Bridgestone 350 now that is a step back in time. I had a friend who bought a green one new. My first bike was a Bridgestone 90. Rode the h3ll out of it. Bought a Bridgestone 100 and Motocrossed it back in the 70s. Had lots of fun on those old bikes. One of by buddies back then had a Bridgestone 175 Scrambler that he stripped put knobby tires on it and built expansion chambers for it out of the upswept exhaust. That thing sounded so sweet! He motocrossed it too, back then it was run what you brung. Finding a 350 Bridgestone has to be like finding a needle in a haystack anymore.

I have to laugh at your pain. We too have a attic, but it is really a unfinished bedroom. It is packed to the gills with what I couldn't tell you, but none of it is worth the powder to blow it up. Last time I opened the door to put something up there I literally fogged it on top and closed the door. My son came home from the Army 5 yrs ago and has been living in our upstairs apt. filling it up too. The rest of my children seem to think my place is a storage locker also. I bought a semi-trailer at a auction 3 years ago to store my workshop stuff in until I finished redoing it {basically a total revamp} and my daughter has taken it over too. Someday I'm going to have a large bonfire.

The problem I see coming when it is time to downsize is getting rid of all the nick-knack- paddy-wack family heirlooms that have been collected through the years. I remember a while ago {OK maybe years ago} Condor you listed you venture collection {hoard}. Is it still the same or have you sold any of them? My son calls me a hoarder but is grateful when I appear with what he needs just for the asking. We who have had nothing when growing up but our needs tend to hang on to some weird stuff occasionally. I still have my old 72 Kaw and picked up my buddies old 72 kaw. Mine is on the short list for a complete go over next winter. My buddies after that. These are the bikes we rode west on back in 74. I have inherited my fathers 72 Kaw Bighorn that will be on the road this year for my morning coffee bike. I'm still hanging on to my old 70 Nova SS which is on a list to massage to. Hey, if nothing else it will be a interesting auction someday. So you see hoarding can be fun.

OK, I went back and read the whole article. It basically is about making a racing bike that can beat Valentino Rossi. They can make everything perfect but they will always have one missing link. BALLS!

They finally replaced the little crazy Japanese guy that did the 1/4 mile testing. I always knew that the only way any of the 1/4 mile times that they got was when they taped the throttle wide open and kicked it off of the centerstand. I figured he was about to retire about now and they couldn't find anyone crazy enough to replace him!

Although I do not ride a 2nd gen I would not hesitate to ride my 86 anywhere I can point it for as long as it takes. You ask if there are any problems. Sounds great. Lets see this is were I grew up. Ripley, N.Y.. The furthest town that you could get away from NYC. located as the western most town in N.Y. A once prosperous town that has had a population as high as 26,000 back in the 1800's. It now struggles as a town at all. There are no gas stations now, when there used to be 8 when I graduated high school. There is one bar left in the whole town, when there used to be 7 when I graduated high school. All factories are shuttered and torn down with no prospects left for employment. The only business left is farming which I do or I would have had to leave also. All this because of high taxation and bad state politics. But the sign says at the state line "Welcome to the EMPIRE STATE". Boy, that couldn't be any more right on. If we that are left could, we would gladly succeed from N.Y. just to get away from the big city tyrants.

Now I don't doubt that that record was a hit but I never heard it that I can remember. In the 70's I was more a rock and roller than country. We had a country station in the next town called WHYP radio. It was a one man operation, the guy would put on a record and go to the bathroom or get his haircut, go shopping, who knows what he did. The records would run end of the record static for a lonnnngggg time sometimes. You don't hear anything like that anymore.
