  1. Basically the oil light is nothing more than a float in a bowl of oil. It will hangup and activate the oil light sensor. Another bump down the road will put it out. Kind of a crappy oil light notice. Its nothing more than a fill reminder not a oil pressure engine failure soon light. Mine did the same thing just two days ago. If its hanging up alot somethings faulty in there.
  2. Not so! I too remember this wave from the 70's in my area. I still do it occasionally just for s#### and giggles. I've been waiting for someone to do it back at me and it hasn't happened yet. If so, I'll at least know the other biker is a old fart like me.

  4. Was this a private mans collection? If so what did he do for a living to be able to afford all these vehicles and amass all this memorabilia? Thanks for posting it was a good watch. I've heard it said more than once in my life to "Not throw anything away". This guy sure did live that saying. One mans junk is another mans treasure.
  5. I agree mine hiccups at 3200. Full cutout seemed to happen at the 4000 to 4200 range. Tach cutout anytime with no noticeable engine rpm drop. With more than one bike doing these symptoms it does seem to be a program error or glitch. Hope I'm wrong and it can be fixed with a re-program. Has anyone tried that yet?

  7. Try a natural remedy for gallbladder problems if you can stand the texture. Virgin olive oil starting with one tablespoon and working up to 1/4 cup in grapefruit juice every morning first thing. If nothing else it will clean you out.

  10. Never seen these before. Not my cup of tea, but shouldn't this be put in the 1st gen tech library?
  11. Go back in time and ride your Venture and the Goldwing at the same exact moments. Easy to do if you can bend the space, time consortium. You will find it was nothing more than a figment of your Imagination.:rotfl: You must have had the anti-wind vortex button pushed on the Goldwing. You know its right there by the hi-ne wiper button next to the far superior feelie button. Be careful you don't touch the automatic folding upper into a suitcase button when your activating the anti wind vortex button next time you ride that Vacuum Cleaner. But the seat safety switch will protect you when your still in the saddle from a complete fold up. Some safety switches have been known to malfunction causing a complete fold-up {with rider}. After this happens you will never be able to ride a two wheeler again. Forever delegated to riding a fat- cart from walle-mart to get around.:rotfl:
  12. If this law was on the books back in 72 around here, I would have never been able to buy my 72 Kawasaki 750. Consequently never having the memories of riding wheelies and generally raising hell back in the day. Thank heaven for small miracles. The worlds full of self-imposing people who write laws for the greater good. BS.
  13. Looks ready for a road trip. Nice job.
  14. Watching and waiting for a cure. I went through my connections again but have to wait for better weather for testing.

  16. I too am having problems with the ingitech. I have been in touch with Gary who has been as helpful as he can. Mine is, for want of a better word hiccuping at 3200 plus a occasional total shutoff around 4200. The tach will occasionally drop also at any time. When I installed the ingitech I didn't ride it very far so no problems showed up. But the wife and I rode to Ohio Caverns on 4/13-14 it was on this ride when those symptoms started to appear. I carry another stock TCI in the saddlebag so I didn't worry about being stranded. We made it home using the Ingitech. I have cleaned every switch on this bike and keep up on regular maintenance. I have been in touch with Gary about it and waiting to see if anyone else was having the same symptoms and posting it on here. I'm not ready to give up on this new TCI. If it takes sending it back to get it fixed {no problem}. Now I know its not just mine.
  17. Had to laugh at this one. Thats what I wear. They have 1.5 cheaters on the bottom. Helps with the glare plus I can read the map at a glance on the tank bag. Bought them at Wally World in the fishing section.
  18. I use the Rotella 15-40 white jug and have also used the synthetic Rotella when going to drive the long haul. No problems or noticeable whine. The Delo 400 is just as good from everything I've ever read.
  19. Brain injury like fish in fish bowl. Swim "Hey nice castle" Swim "Hey nice castle" Swim "Hey nice castle" . Brain bucket is good for me. Freedom of choice now there is a dieing tradition. How fast laws are written, pretty soon there will be one for not using the appropriate number of toilet paper pieces.:rotfl:
  20. Around here the state uses some of the most powerful anti-icing stuff imaginable. Which will linger on the roads for quite awhile and eat any steel fast. Even though this winter was easy they were spreading this stuff like candy here. Go figure. If I don't throughly clean my exhaust pipes once a year their toast fast. He did say it was naked and he wanted something to do.:rotfl:
  21. We constantly are catching either chipmunks or red squirrels here around our house using a Have-A-Heart trap. One year we caught 28 chipmunks and 16 red squirrels. Just set the trap using English Walnuts. Break open a few and leave a trail up to the trap. Also place some on the trip mechanism. It usually doesn't take too long to catch the little pests then its a quick ride to the woods a few miles away so they don't come back.
  22. Fuel filter, change differential oil, check or change brake pads, change clutch, front & rear brake fluid, remove and clean exhaust pipes, grease suspension and install some trick LEDs maybe if your feeling frisky.
