I guess at that is on the truck bed following behind? LoL you could add a motorcycle lift and spare wheels to the list, I'm sure you have room somewhere. 1m miles teaches you a lot doesn't it?

1983 Seca 750 with the very rare factory touring package (trunk not pictured), paid $2700 out the door. Bought new non-current in 1986 when I got out of the Army. The MX 60 was my first bike at 11 years old. Brand new $312 out the door in late 1972.

Tire Recommendation's
BadCatClassics replied to Har's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Been through Elite 3's, Dunlop 404's, the stock Brickstones front and rear. Michelin Commander II's rear only, as Michelin doesn't make a 150 x 16 for the front. They do make a 130 but my local dealer won't put them on the bike because of the load rating. So, I run a Dunlop 404 on the front and Michelin's on the rear. I do a set at about 10k miles, all solo riding. They both have more to give but the interval is not bad and I don't like worn tires, the handling also starts to degrade in the sweepers. -
I carry all this stuff mainly because we ride with others that may maintain their bikes all that well.....mostly Harley owners because it's so dang hard to drop your bike off, get it serviced and get it back within a reasonable time. I usually tell people before a trip to go over the bike. We ride out west Texas with no follow on vehicle and out there the closest dealer can be two hundred miles away. That being said I only had to get in the bag a couple times over many years. But to your point modern bikes are pretty much bullet proof.

You have to be a certain age to get that one..

I get over 10k riding the Michelin Commander 2 on the rear. About 10k out of a 404 on the front. Wish the Commander was in a 150 for the front.

Thought I'd share some of the spares I carry on long trips. Most is self explanatory in the pic so I won't list it. Since we normally travel with different brands I carry a mix of tools as well, both standard and metric. What's in your bag?

Listing my 2009 RSTD for sale. Owned since new, 25,000 miles. All maint. overdone, valves set at 24,000 miles, carbs cleaned and Ivan kit jetted, sync'd etc. Have the original seat, pipes ect. Bubs on it now (4-2-4's) Dyna 3000, K&N's, Michelin on the rear (1000 miles), 404 on the front (3,000 miles) only because Michelin doesn't make a 150/16 front. Yamaha fillers at the rear but have all the hardware to put it stock. V-Max gear set. Mustang seat and rider's backrest, (stock seat also) Not likely you can find a cleaner better running example, not a scratch on this bike, sleeps in the shop, mainly a fair-weather toy. LED bulbs headlight and tail-light. Short (4") Cee Bailey windshield. All fluids flushed every 2-3 years. Synthetic oil yearly. Reasonable offers considered. This may be the best example of the last year (2009) RSTD you can find, absolutely no tip over blemishes or gas tank defects. Everything works as it should. $7400

Ken Johnson here, bought my non-current 2009 RSTD in 2011. Over the years we have owned another 20 bikes or so, the Royal is by far my favorite as far as modern bikes. A few years back I started restoring old motorcycles and some more modern ones as well. 1975 GL 1000, 1980 CB 900 Custom, 1981 CB 750 Custom etc. I also resurrected two other mid 2000 RSTD's for other people after years of neglect and sitting. I've enjoyed making all the changes to the RSTD over the years, cleaning up and removing brackets to make the bike cleaner, V-Max gears, Ivan jet kit, Dyna 3000 (7500 rpm), K&N filters, Bubs, shortened Cee Baileys windshield, Mustang Seat with driver's backrest etc. I do all the maint. on the bike on schedule, Yamaha synthetic oil, clutch fluid and brake fluid flushes every other year, several batteries and one starter relay, one fuel filter, first valve adjusts last year, several sets of tires, a couple rear end fluid changes and plugs a few times, also changed the coolant twice. Cleaned the carbs up good and rejetted then, also rerouted crankcase vent outside of intake last year, that should keep them clean. The AIT has been gone for years. Never had one issue with the bike period, it's always pleasure to ride and pulls like a freight train. The downside is the community of owners is pretty small, in ten years only ran across two other owners personally. And finally my wife also rides her own bike, a 2013 Vulcan 900 LT, so she's my primary riding partner. -
N2 works great in an RV, very stable. On another note, I just bought a new truck, and the dealer pre Lojacked it, added tinted front windows and locking wheel lugs. All for the low price of $2000, they say all their trucks get the treatment, I said I ain't paying for the LoJack, don't want it don't need it. They charge me on paper for the add ONS, but they gave up dealer prep on a truck discounted $8k. It is illegal for them to add on and make you pay for options you don't want.

Don't rule out the rear gear set whining. My bike got noticeably quieter when I changed to a V-Max gear set. The clutch basket and trans gears do whine make some noise but for my bike bought new it was the rear gears that weren't set up properly from the factory.

Gentlemen, I am at a loss to source a small piston for the rear caliper on a 2007 Venture, RSTD. With all the year overlap it is hard to believe I can't find one. All the majors parts house show stock but don't have it. Part is on national B/O. Does anyone have used caliper for sale. And or a piston to sell? P# 4NK-25802-00-00 Ken
