About Me
Blah blah blah - I grew up (not really, but I grew older) riding dirt, then street when I was old enough. I was very reluctantly going to sell my bike to pay for another year of college, but I crashed it the week I was going to sell it. That was wayyy too many years ago. Finally, with my wife's prodding, I decided to get another bike, decades later. It may have had something to do with her seeing a couple on a GoldWing, the wife knitting as they went down the freeway.
So, we bought an 87 Venture (the last year I rode coincidentally) It ran ok, but by the time I got it home (80 miles) it started puking gas out the #4 carb.
Thus begins my re-entry to the world of 80's bikes. I now have to relearn all the stuff I've long forgotten. In high school in the early 80's worked in a friend's Dad's Honda shop (for parts), and mostly owned Hondas, and raced (dirt) Suzuki's, but I've had a few Kawi's. but this is my first Yami.
Now, in my small town of Monroe WA, there's a Yamaha shop, but nobody on the shop floor is old enough to have owned or worked on a Venture.
