@Freebird I forgot to mention earlier that the fact they tried to convince you to pay for a service you didn’t want only to cover their mess up pisses me off. That’s such shady business practice it would make me want to walk away.

I run nitrogen in a few of my cars, comes with the tire purchase at Costco. Can’t say I’ve noticed a difference one way or another. We use nitrogen at work because it’s pure clean and dry, also use it to purge fuzes. The government just installed a nitrogen generator in our lab which is pretty nice.

I can’t seem to make brisket work. I’ve got a full packer in the freezer just waiting for an occasion. But it never turns out great. OK but not Great. I’ve done the cooler stall trick, I’ve just waited out the stall but for all the work and time I’ve always been beaten.

I use a Green Mountain pellet smoker, next time I clean it I’m going to try to amend the stovepipe to allow for more smoke retention.

Carb help needed
Pasta Burner replied to Pop's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey @Pop the brakes are linked meaning if nobody has modified it already the lever activates the front right caliper and the pedal activates the front left and rear. The switch I’m not sure off hand. -
My first attempt with beer brats was last week. Recipe said to cover and simmer. They came out boiled and not good. So my own take this week is to just slowly add beer and deglaze the pan and let them crisp up on the skin. First round went well! Now for that onion jam gravy at the end. FYI this is also how I’d like to cook on an MC trip.

Glad it’s working for you! I was a bit worried suggesting something that might not be it. -

Welcome back @CMCOFFEY. I’m new here but only a short distance away just north of SLC. If we end up south on the bike I’ll let you know. -
Need Help with Upstate PA/ Western NY Excursion
Pasta Burner replied to Semi-retired's topic in Watering Hole
No problem. Lived outside for Philly for 30 some years and never made the trip. Never made it to Centralia either. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centralia,_Pennsylvania -
A great man has passed from this earth and shed this mortal coil

Sorry for your loss, sounds like an inspiring man. -
@cowpuc so I’m pre planning my rt50 / extraterrestrial highway desert roundabout excursion, given this heat it’ll probably be a few months out. Since you’re the only one I know who’s been out there my question is; is there cell service? If not I may invest in a satellite communication system. I know some things exist now that you can either subscribe to a text or location service, somewhat like a land based EPIRB like I used back in my sailing days. Also just ordered a pretty comprehensive first aid / survival kit. Next is convincing wifey this is a good idea.

Learn something new every day. I had no idea Can-Am was around so long nor did I know it’s namesake, as I’m assuming Canadian American. I thought it was a new company with the recent fad of side by sides

That’s Awesome! I bought an Arrow metal 8x10 or 10x10 or something like that from lowes and assembled it no problem. Went back 8 months later to maybe buy the floor kit and maybe another shed…they didn’t have either in stock but while showing my receipt to make sure I was intending to order against the correct model the customer service girl noticed a price change and refunded me something to the tune of $50-$75. It was a few years ago but I was blown away.

Ha! I know that feeling all too well! I have a 30” inseam and just teeter. I’ve been meaning to try boots, I have a couple pair of Docs just collecting dust.

headlights and cpu lamp issues

Am I becoming a GuRu? 🤓 The real Gurus beat me to warning you about taking apart that switch! A spring and a bearing ball and poof! Once you spend the time finding the parts that you didn’t even knew flew out, prepare to spend time imagining how it goes back together 🤔 then look for more missing parts. As I said earlier I really should replace mine, and as you said don’t disassemble until necessary. She’s a little rough superficially but when I had the internals apart mostly the guts were intact. Also if memory serves correct I added a coat of dielectric grease to the contacts but I know for sure fluid film to the moving pieces. And no, no matter what I can’t get the sleeving to stay in the housing. -
headlights and cpu lamp issues
Pasta Burner replied to Max's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I don’t remember the specifics but the headlight circuit runs through the start switch. I had a light and start malfunction there. Ended up rebuilding the switch which I really should replace. when the start switch is depressed the circuit to the headlight opens to kill the light when cranking. -
We do! However if you notice the return vent there I had It shut off for a while. :::shhhh don’t tell my kids We have an auxiliary unit in the master 😼 so no worries to us.

While most will see this as work…as it is FNG work on a job site I assume I also see Freedom! The fact that I have a paid day off to “work” on making our house what we want it to be; is to me today the essence of Independence. Happy fourth Y’all. IMG_0833.MOV

I’ve been using it for a month now and absolutely love it! Much better than being inside. I tried to angle the pic to capture my Mountain View. Maple tree blocks it quite a bit in summer.
