  1. Concur with @cowpuc on good Rx. My pharmacy Walmart wanted $50 for my wife’s naproxen which is basically Aleve. And they wanted some other outrageous price for something else and good Rx brought it like 80% down. On top of that the pharmacy was more than willing to take the time to get us the lowest price possible. In the end it’s just proof that insurance companies really don’t care about our well being and there is no profit in the cure.
  2. That’s very interesting and makes total sense. As I’ve gone through over the years I also learned the meaning of “giving it the old college try”. That’s really all you have to do, try and you will succeed even if you suck.
  3. Quality and follow up are always risks with subsidiaries of conglomerate corporations. Especially when people don’t do their research and know where their money is actually going. The guy who owns a Polaris snowmobile and an Indian or victory motorcycle may never put the two sports together. I work in ICBM and I would say 95+% of the population doesn’t know that General Electric manufactured the Re-Entry Vehicles in the 80’s and 90’s, they just know “we bring good things to life”. That said one of my closest friends who got me into the ICBM field has a 2020 Indian Roadmaster Elite and absolutely loves it, here’s to hoping I also inherit it in 20 some years .
  4. Wrap might not be doing you any favors there.
  5. I think higher learning is great, I’ve been working on a degree for 20 years! I think there has become too much emphasis on having that paper and too little focus on learning that counts. I get it I know the Gen Ed are supposed to make you a well rounded individual, but for me that was scouting. Honestly if I could afford it I’d take college classes for shitts and giggles because I love learning. But I digress, back to @cowpuc original post, ya gotta learn the basics!
  6. Yep! My dad and my uncle had me sitting in their lap pulling the trucks in the garage when I could barely see between the wheel and dash. Sitting on their lap driving and working the controls on the forklift. Sitting In the middle seat of the box trucks and 3/4 ton pickups shifting gears and shifting the split shift on the stake body as well as working the tilt bed. Come to think of it I manned the helm of the Oliver when pumpkin picking came around because I was too small to lift the pumpkins but could reach the controls for the tractor. Splitting logs with a PTO splitter, running the brush hog on the international. All of this before I was a teen! Unfortunately I’m not living on a property in which I grew up so those are skills I can’t readily pass on to my kids. But the older one can drive stick in a pinch and the younger shall learn soon. Little one wants her MC license too
  7. I don’t know if this is real but I wouldn’t doubt it https://www.facebook.com/1320Videos/photos/a.10151851272862112/10160096439047112/?type=3&source=48
  8. I guess part of life too is knowing your limits. I have learned I am not a finish carpenter and nor do I want to be. Mechanically though, I’ll give most anything a shot.
  9. I’m getting there with my kids, the younger one at least. What I can’t wrap my head around is how people drive but have no concept of how the vehicle works. Like how they cook but don’t know why the element gets hot. Ironic I know because as I type this I have no clue how a microprocessor really works inside my pocket computer. I’m a mechanical type of human, and understand basic electronics. But back to my point how can one drive successfully without knowing why and how the vehicle is doing what your commanding it to do?
  10. The government isn’t ignorant, they know exactly what they are doing and pushing for. The Sheepole are the ignorant ones.
  11. When I bought the 87 it was like two weeks before the world shut down for covid. Excited and eager to play with my new toy I tore it apart to see how it worked. I fixed the CLASS CCA and rebuilt the compressor. The PO bypassed the system because they were unsuccessful fixing the CCA. Being new covid times stores were shut and warehouses empty so mail order was the only option and guessing at best. I ordered banjo bolts and spliced some tubing into the original hoses as best I could. But it leaks. I caulked the splices and it still leaks down. Anyone know where I can get all new plumbing for the system?
  12. Absolutely big oil and big electric together have added up the costs to both maximize profit while screwing the little guy. It’s not about climate change it’s about profit margins.
  13. I’ve come to terms that my tiny mystery oil leak is just part of the lure.
  14. True as that may be, good luck having a cop actually witness this behavior.
  15. Huh? Hole and striker? What you talkin bout? I haven’t taken the VR overnight yet but the Duc has either been in what I feel safe territory or has fit inside the hotel room with me. Recently bought a rotor lock but with the fancy bits on the VR it doesn’t work easily.
  16. My Duc does that kinda…once in the locked position there is one more click left that turns the tail light and an auxiliary headlamp on as in parking lights. I even think it’s labeled as P for parking. But if you aren’t careful you can walk away with them on. ok well I just went to the garage and the 87 VR has the same P feature just didn’t know or remember. No need to push my key in to get it to lock though.
  17. The problem with lane filtering, especially when it’s first enacted is that most non riders know nothing about it and think you’re just an asshole cutting in line. When I do it I’m watching faces in mirrors judging other drivers reactions to me.
  18. The gun part aside…because these are two very separate regulations. we started doing this in Utah a few years ago, 2019 I think. The primary focus is to prevent bikers from getting rear ended sitting at a traffic light, it has nothing to do with cutting in line. We call it lane filtering.
  19. I’ve started to look at the GPS speed indication more than the dial
  20. Yes Thank you!
  21. I think you meant to thank saddlebum, but any praise is good I guess 😺
  22. I’m using the Shinko 777 and am very happy on the venture. I also against many minds still ride my Pirelli Diablo that are 15 years old on my Duc with pure confidence. I may someday regret however so far they stick like new…and obviously don’t get used often.
  23. @cowpuc all great questions with zero answers haha! Camping or hotel depends if I’m two up or solo. I’ve done more than my fair share of sleeping on the ground, however if there is a reason such as an unforgettable night sky then maybe. As for point to point…where I’m at in SLC there is no reason I can’t do it all but also wouldn’t mind spending a night in Wendover and dropping down or as @circa1968 says hitting Elko, which we’ve done for a casino weekend on a whim instead of stopping in Wendover. I really don’t have a plan yet, just an idea that I want to get out there so it’s all very immature at the moment. Also no reason to cram all into one trip. It’s literally at my back door to hit the desert or the mountains. Heading up to Park City tomorrow with some friends by way of a seasonal mountain pass, then maybe through Provo canyon. We’ll see where the time and day takes us.
  24. So when googling around about desert travel and looking up Rt. 50 I came across a Nevada State sponsored website dedicated to Rt. 50 and sent in for the official guide! Let the planning begin.
