Rick Buttler. Does that ring a bell?

On one hand I say why? On the other I say why not?

Anybody have any advice for helping out short leg riders reach the ground? I’ve got an 87 VR and love it. Problem is I have a 30” inseam and when I have the wifey with me I’m very unstable at stops, esp off camber intersections. I’m looking into boots with thicker soles but any suggestions are welcome. I don’t really want to modify the bikes suspension as I want it to perform as designed. I have an aftermarket Corbin seat that I wouldn’t mind having chopped if necessary.

Ahhh I see. If I’d have paid attention to what bike you had that would have helped. I have an 87 VR so no auxiliary port for me. That’s why I went the Bluetooth cassette method

How do you play the pandora through the speakers?

I use my cassette player on the bike almost every time I ride. I bought a bluetooth to cassette adapter, works awesome! Good enough battery life for a full day of riding. Also have it hooked into my zumo so I can control all the music from there. https://www.amazon.com/Aluratek-ABCT01F-Universal-Bluetooth-Cassette/dp/B06XDDHXRN/ref=asc_df_B06XDDHXRN/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241899425454&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4955800992932105778&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9029776&hvtargid=pla-762496679992&psc=1

@chrisraven4321 you mentioned that you have a constant warning light…which warning are you getting? Some are very simple fixes. -

Just looked at the weather…ugh

What does grass look like? I forget. Is it that kinda fuzzy brown stuff on top of dirt? Here in the high desert they restricted watering to once a week, that won’t do it so most people just quit all together.

Ok I’m not trying to hijacker this thread but I’ll call it piggybacking…Many years ago I saw a smoking deal on a brand new (used) Remington .223 heavy/bull from Cabela’s used rack for under $150 and always wanted a heavy for long range even if it was just to touch paper. At that time I had a 300yd (in east PA) flat level target distance mostly 50% open into 50% woods or the opposite if I knew the house was empty. Anyway got divorced and moved so I’ve never shot this gun and need a scope. I’m in Utah now so 300yd is peanuts in comparison. Asking for scope recommendations. Out here I would love to do some long range varmint or just paper shooting.

Todays new snow 15” and counting…

There is something about the west coast sun. At around 4pm the snow stopped and the sun came out…what a difference!!! Cleared the cars too. Low 20’s tonight so fingers crossed for an easy morning.

Haven’t had cable since around 08 and don’t miss it much at all. Some sporting events is the only thing I can’t get. But then I can always go to the pub.

For calipers and brake parts I’d suggest talking to Earl @skydoc_17 -
Saddle Bag Leaking

Rats! First aid kit had the most mold or mildew on it, cleaned it off but when I opened it I had to throw out about half of the supplies. All the bandaids and sterile bandages had growth on and or in them. Gave the rest of it a Lysol bath. Looks like this thing is going to live in a ziplock from now on. Kit was in the trunk which does have some hairline cracks, I guess just enough moisture got in for it to fester the past few months. best way to seal the cracks? I’m thinking just caulk it on the inside -
Saddle Bag Leaking

So doing some spring prep on the 87VR I opened the saddlebags and trunk to find mildew growing on some of my stuff. I rode in very light rain end of last season and also power washed and painted the garage doors so the bike got wetish through that process but not like it sat out in the rain. I’ve got gaskets but they certainly don't seal tight. Any further info on using screen spline? Sorry I know prairiehammer was taken too soon. -
Started it and let it warm up. Then shut the doors and went inside to get warm. IMG_1331.MOV
