Seafoam is where I’d start normally. However I have had multiple ethanol attacks to my injected bike exhibiting the same symptoms. (Had to replace all in tank components) Also had a batch of bad gas ( never believed in it till it happened) in my Wrangler. Start simple.

Personally my super car wish is a NSX…someday maybe some day. https://www.acura.com/nsx-type-s

Not that I’m proud of this but in my younger (early 20’s) dumber days I took on a Supra while on my Duc on I95. I held my own but the Supra took that cake.

My former scoutmaster/friend/former boss recently bought a Roadmaster Elite, he’s always had a soft spot for Indians. This is important as it opens the doorway for me to buy his 94FXDL, now that he’s recently retired I just need him to downsize and move and realize he only really wants one bike

This may finally be the summer I get a road trip…even if it’s only a few days. Back in my scouting days 10+ years ago I did a fair amount of backpacking. I relate motorcycle packing similar, bags within bags for organization, as well as the concept of small and light. Backpacking though meant carrying food supplies for multiple days planning on one pot meals so a simple MSR whisper light or two was more than enough. Being on the bike and having the ability to buy fresh food and make a camp meal rather than a simple sustenance meal. What do you guys take for cooking supplies?

@Squidley@Freebird any chance of restoring these pics? Sorry for all the requests. I took my markland off when I first got the bike and am trying to put it back on. I think I understand from the words but just want to be sure.

I made good headway with a magic eraser. Peanut butter? Ok but what do you use to remove the peanut oil?

Anybody got any new secrets to remove wax from the textured trim pieces. I’m using the eraser trick but I’m gonna need something else for this. Previous owner had this wax build up and it’s been driving me nuts but I’d rather ride than deal with it. Now that I have the piece off anyway it’s time to address it.

Kickstand (relocated thread)
Pasta Burner replied to Pasta Burner's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
For sure it goes up on the center. I’ve got the kickstand removed now, I tried last night to get a washer in there but it was too thick. Bought some shims and will see how it works out then plan my next attack. what a difference a little experience makes, the first year I had the bike I couldn’t get it on the center to save my life, a board under the tire helped sometimes. And I was terrified of dropping it to the right side. Now I can pop it up in flip flops without even thinking about it. -

I’m gonna start with the shims as you mention and see what it does. When I say it leans a lot I mean a lot. I’ll take a pic when I get home. -

Can somebody tell me the proper length of a Gen 1 kickstand? Once I put the weight of the bike on mine the fork piece spread out again and the bike I think maybe leans more than before. Parts fiche says item 62 here https://www.youngpowersports.com/OEMpartfinder#/Yamaha/XVZ13DT_-_1987/STAND_FOOTREST/7f27add3-8aa1-4fc3-ac41-cc44b1eded4d/3f60114d-dd76-4bc4-9567-2a6be95682ae/y google search on the pn comes up with similar items like this https://www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/1WS-27311-00-00?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9MKyhOvL9gIVCx-tBh3upAJMEAQYASABEgKeGPD_BwE which shows 31.5 cm mine measures 10.5” or 26.5cm so if it is indeed too short the lean makes sense. -
If it is your starter just start carrying a ball peen hammer did that for many years with my 95 Wrangler.

I have a fixed garage heater and a tank top double blossom, I just don’t keep it heated unless I’m in there. So often times it’s not worth turning the heaters on if I’m not planning a large project. I do however need to convert my fixed heater from LP to NG, I bought the jigger to do it years ago and just haven’t gotten to it. If I was running off the house NG I might leave it on, I would want to insulate the annex attic though. a couple years ago I ditched the cardboard to lay on in favor of a moving blanket! That was a game changer laying on the ground too. Unless you expect a significant amount of fluid blanket is the way to go.

I practiced infidelity from my beloved Costco because Sam’s had a coupon for a free one year membership. It felt dirty cheating 😶🌫️ But also satisfying 🤫. They are Coleman branded. Same concept as wearing long johns but without the hassle or bulk.

@saddlebum so the piece between the padded peg and the flip up joint is longer than normal? I’ve got short legs and the lower wind deflectors so I need to mount them close and wide. Should be delivered Monday
