On some of the post pages and how can I get rid of them?

Freebird did a saddlebag hing plate buy at one time. He had names and whatnot engraved on them. Maybe we could ask him to post info about where he got them and do another buy!

Well, viscosity is viscosity. In other words... 10W-40 dino will have the same viscosity as 10w-40 synthetic. the 10 is the viscosity at low temp. and the 40 is the viscosity at high temp. The nice thing about synthetic is it won't break down as fast at higher temps as dino oil.

Trying to move any big bike, with a flat tire, is an adventure. Even if it's not a big bike it's an adventure. Yes, the stock bike comes with the links that make it sit an inch lower to the ground than does an RSV with leveling links. Now there are also lowering kits out there that will lower the rear. Then you lower the forks in the Tree as well.

Well, from what I can see in the Venture History link at the top of the page, the RSV Dry weight is 807 lbs and the Curb Weight for the 1st gen is 751 lbs with full tank.

RSTD Slip-On Pipes
gibvel replied to RSTAR08's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Here are 2 images I saved to my computer a long time ago that show the 2 different styles of brackets -
Yeah, I saw that Mini! Sorry I couldn't do more but I voted every day!! It's a shame too because I didn't think the one that got #1 was even remotely as cute or as good a photo as your daughters.

Is it just me or is it slightly harder to pull the bike off the side stand with the leveling links installed? Honestly, it could all be in my mind but I installed the links this weekend and it just seems to me that it's harder to pull the bike off the side stand. Anyone have the same experience?

Let us know how it compares to the Venture both good and bad!! Also curious. I've looked high and low on the Victory site and can't seem to find if it's got a CB standard. I don't even see it as an option on the customizing window.

Had a guy do this to me on Saturday morning. It was a 2 way residential just a couple blocks from my house. I always go a bit more slowly, on purpose, on that street because there are cars parked on the side and there are, usually, quite a few kids playing around there. That may have saved me a little skin when the guy banged a Uie in front of me. Had to haul it down pretty quickly. Although he did say "Oh sorry" when he saw me braking hard. That made me feel sooooo much better!!

That's how I do it!

Half full in the sight glass, with these engines, is the rule if you don't want to get blow back into the air plenum. Yes, the engine deposits the oil in the plenum under the tank. Overfill usually will manifest itself as oil deposits (first oil deposits then road grime sticks to the oil) on the back left cylinder between the V but usually it has to be overfilled for awhile before that shows up. I usually just drain some oil out until it gets to the correct level. Lots of guys say you can't do that with the drain plug but I seem to be very adept at being able to drain just a little out. The other option... change the oil and only fill it half way up the sight glass.

Yeah, like at 2,724,666 MPH.

The Goldwing has a few CCs and a couple more cylinders on the RSV though. But either will get you a ticket in under 15 seconds!!

removing the fairing
gibvel replied to cabin boyz's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Technically there really isn't a "fairing" on the RSTD. The RSTD has a windshield the RSV has a fairing. Yes, you can ride without the windshield. You'll get more wind buffeting at higher speeds but you'll also get more air period during the hot summer days. -
Rosalee is now #149 http://photos.parents.com/parents-cover-contest-2012/26/2012/149 But remember it changes as her place changes so you may have to scroll a bit to find her.

If the antenna is on the correct side may want to check the SWR. If you have a truck stop close by you might see if someone there can check it if you don't have the equipment.
