The way I've always understood the system and AIS in general is that the fresh air is introduced into the exhaust port and that fresh air causes what's left of the unburned hydro-carbons to finish burning, there by reducing the amount of unburned HC in the exhaust. So, by this definition, if correct, means that there would, in fact, be less HC exiting the exhaust meaning less pollution not just diluted pollution.

Pics at Breakfast at Athens/Huntsville Memorial Day

So who's 08 is that? -
Yeah Gary, but most of the guys live in Denver, or there abouts, so it wouldn't be fair to have most of the guys ride up this way. Besides I'm tired of all the eating places up here, I'm ready for something new.

Well, one advantage is that you can get to your list of friends more quickly if you want to contact them. Just under the "users CP" button, in the space at the top left, is the button "open contacts popup". That will bring up a window with a list of your "friends". Click the box next to their name(s) and you can PM them either individually or collectively. I believe this will also tell you if any of them are online as well.

Glad I can do my part to keep them wheels turning Lowell!! I agree with Brad great guy to visit with and a heck of an ambassador for the site!! It would be nice to set up or make an M&E with some of you guys from Colorado as well. I'll look into when would be a good time and see if we can get one or so set up. Any ideas where a good place to meet and eat and ride would be guys?

Yeah, Lowell gave me a jingle too forgot to call him back . Sorry I couldn't make it down there. I'm swamped at work, working on getting my son's graduation party planned and mom and dad are coming for the graduation as well (80 years old driving out from Kansas). Man I love this crap!! Lowell, doesn't look like it's going to happen this time around. Hope we can get together here one of these times bud!!

Lowering the "front" of an 05 RSTD
gibvel replied to eagleeye's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Are you putting risers on the bars? If not I don't think you'll have enough room to make it up 1". I may be wrong because I didn't do mine, I'm just going by what's sticking out of the top of the tree now. I have no risers so the air valve is very close to the bars now. -

No, mine actually stick up about 1/4, measured from the side, from being flush like the photos. -
As far as the oil coming out of the vent hoses, how full is your oil. These engines don't like the oil up to the top line. If you fill it half to 3/4 full that should stop the oil coming out of the vent hoses. Might let your dealer know that too!!

Warning light
gibvel replied to Pappa Bear's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Just a thought. Mine did that, every once in awhile, when I was going on the highway (hard right hand lean cloverleaf) and I would run the gears pretty hard once I hit the highway/ The oil light picture would come also also. Both go out after a few seconds. Oil level was fine. Mine would happen, mostly, if it was colder out though. Try and see if the oil can picture comes on at the same time. -
There are overflow hoses that go up and dump by the air cleaner. If you're floats are stuck open it will leak there as well. One thing you might try is using Seafoam (available at autoparts stores). Run the gas down to a couple gallons, dump the can in, let it run to get the seafoam gas into the carbs, let it sit over night, fill up the next morning. Should clean them out pretty well. Pour half a can in every few months or so after that.

Windsor took a big hit. Most of them were east of I-25, about 8 or so,from what I hear on the news. Don't think Fort Collins got any but I could be wrong.

Or even a 2008.

Not for the 404. But then it also depends on what type of riding you do. 2 up, heavy throttle hand, pulling a trailer... etc.

"LAST PIECE" meaning the piece that you put on last. Didn't think there was ever a LAST piece of chrome for these machines.

Ooooo would so love to have that Goose!! Good luck selling it!! Goose, was just looking at your photos in Classifieds. Noticed another what appears to be a blue and black RSV in the garage besides the Silver RSV. Did you have 2 of the 07s or is this an optical illusion?

Alex, Did you keep the regular sized front tire or did you go with the narrower tire? Mine, just found out recently, has had the front lowered and it also has the narrower front tire. I do experience a bit of "tar snake wander" and wondered about going back to the stock sized front tire next change. Other than that wander I've got no problems, with slow speed maneuvering, when I go over 100 or with crosswinds with the front lowered.

Have to pop the trunk up (I usually just undo the screws, tilt it forward and prop up with the appropriate length piece of wood), open that black box and connect to the connectors in that black box. You have to have the special connectors like this: http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SIE%2DSWR12 You may want to check the audio and CB connectors under the passenger seat when you're finished. I know that the extra tension, from tilting the trunk up, sometimes disconnects my passenger audio plug under there.

carb sync, can it be this easy?
gibvel replied to Everette's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
No, the colortune allows you to adjust the pilot jets for the right Fuel/Air mixture. The Carbtune lets you adjust each carb so they are each drawing the same amount of air through them.- 14 replies
