I've seen them on here before but can't find any. Does anyone have a color wiring diagram for the RSV? specifically the lighting section. Had to do some work on the brake lights on mine and found that the PO royally screwed stuff up back there. I'd like to go back to square one and start over. thanks

Interesting. Wonder if it's just their site or if they chose multiple sites on the web.

Seriously, I hope not!! -
The bike in the above video is an RSV so they definitely will fit on the Royal Star family. You will need a mounting bracket though.

To find the members in a given state click on "community" at the top of the page. A menu should pop up. Move the mouse down to "Members list" and another bar should pop up to the left side of the page. This pop up should have a list of State abbreviations. Just pick the state you want to see and it will take you to the list of members that live in that state. At least that's the way it works on my computer. So should this link: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/memberlist.php?do=getall&field6=12 Some things to check would be the "last visit" column to see if the person is very active. This may save you some waiting if you PM someone who isn't very active.

Just the ones I was going to suggest. Although I don't know how loud they are, comparatively, from what I've heard of them they have a beautiful deep growl to them that I love.

Yup! Liked this color combo since I saw it on a Harley awhile back. I think that would be my favorite color combo ever!! Good Job!!

Yeah, that's what I figured. I had resigned myself to about $300 at the dealer and figured, Hey what's $5.00. It's either $305 if it doesn't work and $5.00 if it does. Looks like there are quite a few good reviews on them as well. Thanks for the heads up. I'll let you know how it works for me. Oh, this is on my Virago, not my Venture.

Okay, I got one. I've tried the film thing a couple times and it didn't get any better. I got the blue one, I hope that's the correct color. Edit: Actually I just looked on their site and the blue is listed as "Yamaha Blue"... So I guess I got the right color after all.

Another clue, this can't be right!

Do you, perchance, have a macro setting on your camera? This is usually a button with a tulip (flower) or something like that on it. If you use that the camera will focus better on things when you take pictures from shorter distances like these. Just an FYI tip. -

Check out the gallery for the RSV. Toward the end there is one photo of, I believe, the Stratoliner Deluxe. Hmmm Freudian slip?

Where is the oil seepage/crust?. If you fill the oil much more than half way full the left rear cylinder is where the overflow likes to blow out and congregate. Sounds to me as though the bike was overfilled and that's why the crust is there. I believe you're on the right track with a plugged pilot jet. After having set as long as it did I'm surprised that only 1 would be clogged. If they're partially clogged then you've got a chance with seafoam or 44K. If it's completely plugged neither of them will work any magic. Me, I'd bite the bullet and remove the carbs, clean the jets, make sure the floats are set and then give it a go. But that's just me and my

When it started did it start right up or crank slowly? I'd have the battery checked. I don't think the ignition switch going out would mess with the radio presets. I KNOW that a battery on the way out, when you crank the bike over, will cause the presets to be lost.

Yes, Brad. All these tire patch kit threads (and one experience I had going to Denver) gets a guy thinking about getting something like this. And we all know the Boy Scout motto... Be Prepared. I do run Ride-On as well, but the flat I had on the way to Denver, while the ride on probably saved my bacon, it didn't completely solve the problem like, I believe, a patch kit could have.

The latest post on tire plugs got me wondering which repair kit do you guys use and what are your experiences with the kits? Where do you get them and how much do you typically spend? Also, same questions for small air compressors.

Ditto the connectors in the faring. Mine was more pronounced in cold weather (it was fall, going on winter, at the time) in the morning it would act up and when it heated up in the afternoon it would be good. Sometimes they can vibrate loose or get dirty. Mine was doing the same thing. Cleaned the connectors and put dielectric grease on them and no problems since. If that doesn't work take it to the dealer, it's still under warranty!

Fuel Gauge / Gas tank???
gibvel replied to grubsie's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just a thought. I know that when I do so good right hand turns my fuel will go down a bar. When I do some good left hand turns the fuel gauge will gain a bar. Same thing if you run it on the stand before taking the bike vertical. The gauge will show more when on the side stand. My thought is, the fuel tank is divided, to an extent. So if you do a lot of right hand turns you could be putting a majority of the fuel in one half, therefore making your gauge go down to a level that triggers the light. With more fuel in the other half you will, in effect, still have quite a bit of fuel still left but your gauge is tricked into thinking there isn't as much. So there might be times where the light will come on and the tank won't take as much fuel and times when the larger portion of the fuel is in the gauge side and you'll end up putting more fuel in. Just a thought. Don't know how actual factual it might be. -
And so it begins!!
