Don't worry, it's only because it's 3 eastern... You get it at 2, if I'm not mistaken. Hmmm for sale, huh?
-
Haha, we get it at 1pm.

Gotta say, same here John!! What a great day of riding and socializing. Dan, always great hanging around with you!! Tim, great meeting you, hope to ride with you again some time. John, as always, what a kick in the pants to ride with you and listen to your stories and adventures. Megan... well, we won't go there, now will we? As for healing, well, I'm paying for it, slightly, right now but it was totally worth it and I wouldn't have traded today for anything!!

Hey Dale, Give Cindy a good "Whip/Slap" for me and tell her to get better. I'll be saying prayers for Cindy and the rest of you guys!!

I'm ready, I'm ready Dan. Just don't get me too wound up just yet. Still have to wait a little while. Do you still need a jacket. I thought that I could wear the one I wear on the YZF and you could wear my other one. I'll bring both just in case. Looking forward to seeing you guys again. And Tim, come on up and see us, that would be great you're more than welcome!! See you all about 10:30!!

Not necessarily. Some here have reported finding the pump at about $45 which, I've found, is about as good as you can get them about anywhere on-line.

It does raise the bike some. The height depends on how much you put in it. DO NOT use an air compressor. Especially on the front ones. The fronts take a MAX of 7 psi. The rear you can go up to 57psi Most of us use the progressive hand pump. http://www.cbxmanmotorcycles.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=GP-0-60&affid=4 The 60 psi version should be sufficient. You can sometimes find these Harley branded at Harley shops. BTW this is all in the owners manual on pages 3-18 and 3-19.

Clearview warning
gibvel replied to James Ardrey's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Trust me, the vent delivers lots more air than you'd have normally!! -
Well, hopefully, the new dealer will get everything straightened out and you'll have many, many trouble free miles!!
-
Wow, You made it sound like you had little faith in the bike. Your beef is more with the dealer than with the bike it sounds like. Is this true? All the problems you mentioned sound like, with this new info., they are a break down in dealer service.

May be as good a time as any to post this site up again: http://www.pinkribbonrides.com/dropped.html It's all technique and, yes it does work with the Venture. Just don't forget to put the kickstand down if you're lifting from the right side.

Just a note on the heel/toe shifter. Be gentle when using it. Some have reported that the engine case can crack right where the shifter shaft goes through it. This is because the H/T shifter can exert way more force in that area than could the toe shifter. Just something to keep an eye on.

You know, that's just it Don. You can go to the assembly line and play every single guitar that comes off and, for the most part, they all play and sound different. For my money my Larrivee slaughtered every Taylor I ever compared it to at a lot lower price but then, that's my opinion.

Guitarists are like A$$holes, everyone... Wait, wait, that's another statement... Ummmm all guitarists have opinions on what guitar is best. The best guitar for you is the one you like and that you like to play. While all the guitars mentioned are good (except the Ovation SorrySooner Rider but I have never, ever liked the sound of an Ovation with the stupid bowl back. Better plugged in but IMHO to twangy and cold unplugged. And that is my personal preference.) you need to find someone you know who plays guitar and take him to music stores and pawn shops and have him play guitars. The right guitar will be one that plays well, sounds good and is in your budget. Some things to look for are a straight neck, not twisted slightly bowed around the 7th fret. Sight down the neck from the top and you'll see what I mean. Tune to pitch and play chords. Is there any buzzing? What you're looking for is a guitar that has a low action without the strings buzzing. You want something that you want to play. Electrics are generally easier to play and have lower actions and mostly thinner necks than acoustics. Most have thinner strings to start which are easier to push down. That being said, any steel string guitar, till you get used to it, will hurt your fingers like heck till you build callouses and get use to it. If you get one with a good action to start this will help because you won't have to push so hard and it shouldn't hurt quite as much and you won't suffer hand fatigue and possible carpal tunnel issues. These are all things an experienced guitarist should know, that's why I suggest finding someone to take along. I know I didn't help with the guitar selection but I hope this helped some. Just some things I've experienced in 38 or so years of fiddling around with them.

Tank Badge Removal
gibvel replied to BLUERIDGEBORN's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Heat and or fishing line has been used. Most people can peel it off if they heat it up with a hair dryer. I think I'd try the Heat and then, at least start it, with the fishing line and see how that works. Then use Googone or WD-40 to take the adhesive residue off of the tank. Are you trying to get it off in one piece so you can put it back on? -
If not the Pork in the Pines, your dealer should have an EGA machine and should be able to do the tuning.

Did you want to buy JUST a mic. without headsets, or the mic. and headset combo like Maritimer posted? Which brings up an interesting point. If you just use a mic. to transmit, and have the system set for speakers, does the mic. still work on the headset cord even with the system set for speakers?

Yes but just remember, I am the "Ol' Big Chief"!!

Heck, Wal-Mart should have the right battery.
