I think I see a general consensus that they're, what's the word, "SLICK".

Start with a good seafoaming (quickest and easiest) and go from there. Any other history on the bike. Age of plugs, caps, wires, diaphragms, last sync, etc.?
-
Not a problem. They got snow in the mountains again this last week too. Not sure how much but it was there.

Are you planning on taking Trail Ridge road over the Rockies? Because it's not scheduled to open until May 22nd.

What route are you taking, Goose?

Say what?

Hmmmmm, really think that would make it taste better?

I hate the companies parking lot in the summer, on my YZF600R. Can't lean at all or I feel like I'm going down on every tar snake. Just got new Avon storms so we'll see what it's like with those.

Saw this on a cooking forum. I started thinking about it... Why all the different mixes for honey and cinnamon (in water on bread)? If you ingest honey and cinnamon regularly shouldn't that be enough to cover the whole gamut?

No scraped chrome? You call that a drop?? Now go back out there and try it again!!!

And keep in mind, the CD player will take up some of the space in either the saddlebag or the trunk... most put them in the saddlebag now, I believe. I'd tell them to take the CD player out and just use an MP3 or Music from a GPS.

Is that an antenna between your legs or...

Seat: Butt Butler Mod. Have Mr. Butler do his seat mod. on your seat and you should be sitting pretty. Seriously, high RPMs on the highway? Did you actually shift into 5th? Most people think it turns too slow on the highway and add the V-Max rear end mod. to INCREASE the RPMs by about 500. That puts it in the powerband at about 70 to 75 in 5th. Remember, this isn't a V-Twin and loves to be reved. Bars, well, I can't comment cause I have ape arms that hang about 2" lower than most people I know. My son-in-law thinks my backrest is back too far cause he has to stretch to get the bars.

Badge matches the 99 but I'm sure they used the same tank badge for several years. All silver engine fins matches but I think they had those up until about 04 so that's no help either. Seats are early Venture as well but they had those for the first years up to about 04 as well. Not a 99 color but, as everyone else said, could have been painted. Looking for a new Venture already Dan?

I just use one of those telescoping mirrors, sit on the bike and put it upright and hold the mirror down there. Been thinking about making a little wooden fixture you could just set on the floorboard, next to the glass, that would hold the mirror at the correct angle to see the window.

Standing behind the bike, facing the bike, the CB should be on the left side. However, just make sure the wire coming out of the black box under the trunk goes to the antenna with the black load in the middle. But the wire usually comes out of the box and goes to the left side antenna.

Hmmmm wife must have seen the first post, huh? Good recovery.

This place has a weatherproof mount for almost any GPS: http://www.mountguys.com/category_s/78.htm Just click your unit and there should be a RAM mount weatherproof enclosure at the bottom of the page. Okay, looks like the same unit that's on Amazon. Same company too.

I'm not really as upset as I made it sound, although, I can't stand that Harley attitude, which is why I will NEVER HAVE A HARLEY!! They may make the best bike in the world but I will never own one. That being said, I know you're trying to keep the peace and you need to do what you need to do and I can appreciate that. If you rarely ride with his friends and him and it's more convenient then, by all means, ride with him. All I'm saying is, that because of an "attitude" or a "Way of thinking" you have to give up, OR HAVE TAKEN FROM YOU, something that you enjoy just because your "ride" doesn't mesh with their way of thinking or attitude. Just not right in my way of thinking. Why does the song Suffragette City come to mind. EDIT: Hmmmmm just happened to think. The "Never own a Harley" line makes me as bad as the "attitude" people. Okay, I'll rephrase that... Why I will, most likely, not be buying a Harley

I'm sorry but attitudes like that infuriate me. Tell him he's a narrow, closed minded boob who can't think for himself, and has to go along with the crowd!!

CB Antenna inquiry
gibvel replied to jimmyenglish's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Can you take it back and trade if for one with a Female PL-259 connector on the bottom? That would be the easiest way. That way you get the mating connector to put onto the wire that comes out of the CB or get a pre-made wire that has a male PL-259 on one end and a (I believe) male Motorola connector on the other (not 100% sure on the sex of motorola) . That would be the easiest of all. What does the bottom look like? -
Congrats Sherry!! You don't know how happy I am for you and proud of you!! As for the question, a question must be asked. Transportation to Colorado? While Estes Park is a nice, beautiful place, it's rather touristy. If you're riding, there are lots of nice roads to explore using Estes as a starting place (don't think Trail Ridge would be open at that point, however). If you're flying or driving... hmmmm I think I'd go Alaskan Cruise. Just kidding. Driving through Colorado can be great as well. I'm just biased because I ride. If you do decide to come to Colorado, you'd better let me know and or stop by so I can meet you and your new beau!!
