    Interested myself as I have the exact same Jettson's car sound. Did yours come and go depending on RPM? Mine, depending on what gear I'm in, lasts for about 10 mph. 25 to 35 in 2nd, 35 to 45 in 3rd etc..

    I think, as much as anything, the noise bounces off of the windshield. I remember Snarley Bill did an experiment, some years ago, where he removed the windshield from his RSTD and said that the sound almost completely disappeared. Now if this is the case with the Venture, I don't know. I do know that, when I first got my 99 that the chirp was ear piercing. It had a very high pitched component to it that was just horrid. When I got my XXL Clearview windshield the sound decreased somewhat but, more importantly, that ear piercing higher frequency decreased dramatically. This is probably due to the rake of the windshield being different than the stock. So, I believe, the windshield is to blame for some, or a great deal, of the reflected sound.

    Use the philips "Star" to tell how much you turn it up then reduce it back to the same place it was before you adjusted it. Unless you really WANT to get a new tool!

    I'm sure he adjusted the idle. The idle screw is on the right side (as you sit on the bike) just above and slightly forward of the right rear cylinder. It's a black thumb screw with a philips head in the middle. It should be fairly close to the bottom of the tank.

    Shop around is right... Noticed that the 2 pack was about $70 at PIAA. Good to know you can find them for around $40. Found the single 10934 on Amazon for 19.78 plus shipping.

    Okay, are you talking solely about the Silverstar or about both the Silverstar AND the Silverstar Ultra? It has been said, on this site, that the Silverstar ULTRA is far superior to the plain Silverstar in the amount of vibration they can take and how long they last. Do you have experience with both? Just asking to verify. It doesn't appear that you can purchase anything besides the double pack of PIAA Intense whites on-line BTW.     Why is it everyone who purchases an HD Ultra comes in here thinking that they're going to get reamed for buying one? I think it's been proven in the past that the attitude around here is "It doesn't matter what you ride as long as you ride". However you might get reamed for not including pictures... okay so where are they?!?!?!

    Just curious Larry... Since you like the features of the Mio so much have you looked at what they have to offer now a days? Maybe they've made a better unit with similar features. Just a thought. Either way, let us know what you think of the 1470 as well.

    V7 Goose has stated before that Venoms go down very quickly at the end of the tread. You could look at the tire, in the morning, and think it would make 500 or more miles and within 150 or 200 miles you could be showing cord.
