Snippy? Maybe just a tad... I had been on the internet for weeks looking. I even tried the websites others had suggested for the post about a 3/4 helmet but to no avail. I have ordered a few on line but the colors didn't match so I sent them back. I posted ONLY because I "assumed" that someone who owns a similar bike color had maybe seen one or knew someone else who owned a similar helmet. Most of you guys have been riding RSV's since the beginning of time. Me - 4 months. You guys have been down the road I am now traveling... trying to find accessories and such. After expending my resources I was trying to tap into the experience here. I will try harder to be patient!! As far as the Rineharts even Eck gave me, as wizard called it... a 'sympathy post'

OK folks I need your help. I'm looking for a half helmet with the zip in neck liner to match the black cherry of an 08 RSV. Sites, types, names, etc. Any info would be most appreciated. Thanks

When I received my Venture Rider's bell I used the ring that was on the bell. I put it through one of the holes you would use for installing a center stand. The ring was hard to open up but once it was open I threaded it through the hole like you would if you were putting a key on the ring. I used an electrical tie on a former scoot ... after a while it wore through and I lost the bell. Seems like the steel wire in a pipe cleaner would eventually rust through.

Thanx Eck, I was beginning to think I had asked some kind of 'darkside' question. Currently I have drilled pipes off my wife's 07 RSTD. Sound isn't too bad... way better than stock but I wanted something with more bark when I hit the throttle. I also wanted an aftermarket exhaust preferrably for the RSV; but that is extremely limited. I also wanted something that was different. :scratchchin:Reading the forums I notice quiet a few have the 4-2-4 systems, bub sleepers, and the RK stock pipes drilled out; all of which I too like but if a majority of people have them then it's hard to be "personalized". The Rineharts are quiet pricey so I stepped down and ordered some V&H turned downs for the RK. The V&H have the removable baffles which give me some leeway on sound and (personally) I like the looks of the turn downs. It's hard choosing what you want with so many variables but like they say, "You bought it now make it yours!" Thanx, Jerry

I've noticed people using HD mufflers as an alternative muffler. Question: Any comments on Rineharts....good?....bad?..... Feed back please. I like the way they sound on the RK. Thanx, Jerry

Sneaky? YES! My wife and I were standing on the flag line today when I decided to go back to the bike and get the camera. I got the camera out, was standing in the parking lot and decided to take a picture of my wife. I zoomed in and took the shot. I was surprised when I got back home and downloaded the photos and there was Gene sneaking down towards my wife . Brother we really enjoyed your company today!!! Jerry

I would like to thank Beer 30 for assisting me today. While riding to Jacksonville, NC from Havelock (bout a 45 min drive) I was just about at my destination when my bike died while sitting at a red light. I was worried because I was using a heated vest and gloves for the first time, along with the stereo, and passing lights. While sitting there trying (without success) to restart my bike I just knew I had drained the battery or trashed the electrical system. My wife rode her bike to our destination and got Beer 30 to come back and assist her stressed out husband with his disabled scoot. When Beer 30 arrived I stood there tools in hand ready to dissassemble the bike to find the problem. As he looked it over and made his assessment of the malfunction he graciously suggested that I place the kill switch in the run position WALLAH it started . I did not know I had hit the kill switch and was TOO wrapped up in all the damage I thought the new electrical toys had caused to think things out when trying to restart the bike. As we both stood there in the rain laughing he smiled and said my secret was safe with him. Thanks Beer for assisting me and, better yet, "Keeping it simple!" Jerry:thumbsup: As for me trying to start it with the kill switch on.... well....my wife is still laughing and I don't think she'll let me forget this for awhile

86 Honda Rebel 450 (Taught our daughters to ride on this bike. Tough looking fun to ride bike) 06 Suzuki M50 800cc 06 Suzuki C50T 800 cc (1st touring bike - still have this one. My daughter rides it now.) 07 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1600 (1st heavy bike. This is the one I missed the turn at the dragon's tail... bitten but not beaten! Very nice bike!) 08 Yamaha RSV (1st REAL touring bike. Doesn't have the stretched out feel like the Nomad but it's growing on me more each day. Guys at work say it looks like a mini GW, they call it "an old man bike" which is fine by me. Everyone says it looks comfortable, like you'd fall asleep in the saddle, thus the name "RELAXIN". Lovin it more with each ride!)

Light bar for 2nd Gen?
Relaxin replied to Gearhead's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I purchased the OEM 'passing lamps' from Yamaha. Light bar - $150.95 and the passing lamps $118.95. I got a 25% discount off of that price. However K&N Motorcycles has the same products (OEM) at a discount $135.86 for the bar and $107.06 for the lamps. We ordered all of my wife's (07 Tour Deluxe) accessories from K&N. Perfect fit! http://www.knmotorcycles.com/pages/custompages/viewcustompage/142/Royal_Star_Accessories.aspx
