Been thinking about getting a set of these H3 LED Lamp replacements: http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/H3_11-WHP.htm Will be using more for visabilty than illumination so they should work perfect. Single LED replacements are $10/ea and the 9 LED are $20/ea Just a thought...

True, but it might when you add the run-stop-turn module that the OP stated he was planning on purchasing...of course, I haven't priced them out either...
-
Wouldn't this do the same thing and you not have to swap out the lenses to do it? Clicky, clicky...
-
Alrighty...I'm gonna try to get it plugged up this weekend (at least the rear) and I'll follow up with the results here. Thanks for assist...

Cool beans...appreciate it

No worries, Beer..Just checking in because we haven't heard anything in awhile, but we knew you had planned to get some done. I know we all appreciate your hard work on it. BTW, did madsask & I ever make it on your list...don't see our names listed in the first post, so just curious...

Ok...I'm fairly new to working on a bike and I am trying to learn all I can. In this learning experience I heard that the AIS can cause popping and backfiring, which I have. Initally I disregarded it as I planned on plugging it. But after a little further inspection I have noticed that it only occurs on the right side (at least when on the side stand). I found this out by reving the engine and letting off quickly, which in turn causes the backfire, and as soon as I let off, I glance at the pipes to see which one it is occuring with. With that said, would it still be the AIS (as I haven't plugged it yet) or could I have a leak somewhere on the right side. Bear in mind, I haven't put it on a jack to level it yet, I am just fishing for what to possibly look for. And for a little history on the bike, from my understanding it had sat for quite a while when it was trying to be sold and I am not to sure how ofter it was ran during that time. I know not enough for the battery because it was bad. But it does have a fresh tank of gas...

As far as I know, yes, Corbin seats lower the seight height by about an 1". I also got word on the other forums that a Saddlemen Road Sofa will do the same. I'm a little vertically challenged myself, at 5'8", and I have been pondering swapping out the seat vs dropping the forks. I would shave an inch of the sides of the stock seat but I don't trust my own work and don't know anyone one here I would trust to do it. At least, not without a spare seat ..heheh

I thought the HF trailer was a little wider than it needed to be and some cut it down....from the looks of this, it may have been cut down already. To some without all the tool needed to do such a project, that may be worth the money.
-
Thanx...I'll have to keep them in mind.
-
Link us on the trailer...Wouldn't mind taking a peek at it...

Haven't heard anything on this for a little while, how's the project coming along?

Well, in a very general way..."makin money" could mean they made enough to break even on what it cost to produce it. The concept of, any bike they sell is less money a competitor could have made. IE, as long as they break even they would keep making it to keep the sales from going to Honda, Harley, etc etc..and provide word of mouth advertising for other bikes in the Star line. Because how many Yamaha produces isn't near as many as how many Goldwings or Ultra Classics are produced (at least, from what i can see on the road here in SA). Probably didn't get that out right, but hope you catch what I saying...

Interested, but like many have said, price will be the determining factor.

Sorry for the late reply to my own request...RL got a little busy the past few days... When I first considered using RK muffs, this crossed my mind. But if I have my way, I would rather keep the stocks muffs exactly that...stock. When I saw these clamps, they looked clean and would allow me to not modify the stock muffs. Will they provide the same clean look? It was my understanding that they wouldn't, which is why I was going after the V-Twins...Did you do any other mods to them, other than the mounts themselves? I ask because I should be able to get the stock clamps for them, as well. Thanx for the offer, wish I would of replied in time to get them...

Well, I has finally about to order the crome clamps from Iron City Cycles to put a set of RKs on and when I went to the page, it has a network solutions page up (which usually means the site has gone *poof*)... So do yall know of anywhere else to pick them up???

That'd be a handy little feature as long as it allows you to enter the number elsewhere. That's why I had to adjust my voice dial. It wouldn't let me enter the number in 2 places...
-
Same here. Only change I had to adjust to was saying the word "ice" when voice dialing. Minor annoyance compared to the fact that it could save my life one day...

I have a Scorpion EXO 200. It's a 3/4 with a shield and I wear my sun glasses with it. Eventually I'll pick up a smoked shield for it. I picked up on sale for about $100. Might be what you are looking for.
-
Appreciate them anyways. Been thinking about getting a set, and those pretty much solidified the idea...

original sales price

Whole Heartedly agree on that one. If they are really wanting to get rid of it, you make one helluva buy. I got my '99 with 18k miles for $5500. However, I ended up having to go through a dealer for consignment so I could get financed, but I was still out the door @ $6950 (TT&L, Helmet, jacket, and gloves)...still a good deal in my eyes, all because it was on the market for a few months with only nibbles. -
Best motorcycle insurance? What do you suggest?
AmnChode replied to DarkWolf's topic in Watering Hole
Progressive here, as well. Had them for about 4 years on the cars and now on the bike...No problems with them yet.- 21 replies

So, if you have free flowing mufflers and K&N airfilter, is there still a need to rejet? Or, is it just the mufflers that I can get away with?
