    Shortly after getting back to Loozeeanner I was out on a easy ride on the back roads one afternoon.....Cruising along at 60mph and the blacktop switched over to gravel as I came around a sharp turn.....My "pucker factor" ran right off the scale I tell ya...... Boomer.....who keeps away frum drunken red-headed wimmen and gravel roads.

    I went through 2-3 sets of Commander's before switching to the E-3's.....I get a lot more mileage from the E-3's. Boomer

    I'd be hard pressed to go back to Michelin after having the Dunlop E-3's on my scoot. Boomer.....who sez yer mileage may vary.

    When I first got my 06 Venture I looked hard at all the after-market seats available. I could NOT ride more than 200 miles a day with the stock seat without experiencing real discomfort! Smartest thing I did was send the seat to Rick Butler and let him work his magic on dat seat. In hindsight I'd pay 10 times what he charged for the comfortable seat which I now have. Paying big $$$$ for a after-market seat is no guarantee that your riding days will be long and comfortable. Boomer.....who sez often times the cheapest fix turns out to be the best one....except when it come to pygmies and Mother-in-laws.....

The Lord said, "Texans are Texans, Gabriel. Heaven is home to all of my children. If you want to know about real problems, call the Devil.." So Gabriel calls the Devil who answers the phone and says, "Hello -- hold on a minute." When he returns to the phone the Devil says, "O.K., I'm back. What can I do for you?" Gabriel replied, "I just want to know what kinds of problems you are having down there with the Texans." The Devil said, "Hold on again. I need to check on something." After about 5 minutes the Devil returned to the phone and said. "I'm back. Now what was the question?" Gabriel said, "What kind of problems are you having down there with the Texans?" The Devil said, "Man, I don't believe this...hold on!!!!" This time the Devil was gone 15 minutes and when he returns he says, "I'm sorry Gabriel -- I can't talk right now!! Red Adair has put out the fire here and now Brown & Root is installing air conditioning!!!!" Always remember .... TEXANS SURVIVE .... despite the odds against them!!!

    IMHO I'd say keep your lights within the load parameter of the wiring capacity.... with fuses to match. Our Ventures are not known for having the greatest electric capacity..... which explains why many of us have upgraded to the high-intensity LED's all around. Boomer.....who sez carrying pygmies with high-capacity flashlights has a few benefits too.

    Take a good look at a Suzuki Boulevard C50.....It sits low and is very comfortable riding 2 -up. Depending on your riding time, your experience level, and confidence level, you should be ready for the Venture within a year or so. Yes the C50 is NOT a touring bike but IMHO its a step in the right direction.....and a brandy-new one won't break your bank. Boomer.....who sez when it comes to scoots bigger is NOT always better for a Novice.

    The only time I use 5th gear is when I am on the Interstate at 70mph or better. For town/city riding it is a lot easier to downshift to 3rd if I need that power to get around/away from some clown in a cage who is trying to kill me. Boomer....who sez if he wuz concerned about gas mileage he'd be driving a VW.
