Lifespan of V4
BoomerCPO replied to Shackbar's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The Venture is the bike you will either love or walk away from. The bike is heavy and unforgiving at low speed mistakes. Three weak points with the Venture are: Ignition switch, fuel pump, and low capacity electrical system. A bypass switch for the ignition switch will keep you from being stranded. Likewise an after market fuel pump carried on the bike is good insurance as well. LED's reduce the load on the electrical system and improve your visibility as well as helping you be seen. The rear brake may lock up on you if ya romp on that brake pedal....Practice your braking technique and modify as needed to bring the Beast to a safe stop for any road/weather condition. Riding comfort is excellent once the Butler Seat Mod is done and you have the handlebars adjusted to YOU. As others have stated here....Don't be afraid to roll that throttle. This bike thrives and runs best at high RPM's....Cruising at 90 in 4th gear is a pure joy! I have 62K on my Venture and look forward to turning 200K on it someday. Welcome to the Forum and the VentureRider family. You'll go far before you find this many great folks and guys who KNOW these bikes inside out. Boomer....who sez pygmies love Ventures too.- 29 replies

On the 12th of this month the Combat Vets of Louisiana will be escorting the moving Wall to its location in Jennings,La. While I am proud to be a part of the Escort I do not look forward to seeing the Wall once it is in place....there are too many good men on the Wall that I served with....and to this day I wonder why I survived that horrendous experience known as Vietnam and they did not. I can assure you that they were all better men than me. Boomer

I ran 2 sets of Michelin Commanders on my scoot last year....Found them to be very greasy the first 100 miles or so. This year I switched to the Dunlop E-3's.....Hardly noticable greasiness for the first 50 miles. I'm sold on the E-3's for all aspects of riding! Boomer.....who sez hard stops at Dairy Queen are easy wit dem E-3's too.

2005 RSTD HID Light Installation
BoomerCPO replied to tsigwing's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The HID which Squidly installed on my Venture last year has been trouble-free and running strong since the date of install. Very bright at night....so much so that I can NOT use the High Beam as it completely blinds oncoming drivers at night! I run High Beam during daylight hours and I can say it does improve your visibility by a huge margin compared to anything else you could have on the scoot. I'm very happy with the durability of the HID bulb.... but I do plan to order a replacement bulb to have on the scoot just in case the current bulb goes out on me. Also...the HID lights up the roadsides very nicely as well when used at night in either the Low Beam or High Beam mode. Boomer....with Thanks to Squid for the install and being a great buddy. -
Thanks buddy.....I'll give that a shot!! Regards.....Boomer

I'd send him your pic my friend but IMHO you are uglier den me.... Boomer....

Well after hours of work on the computer there is a light at the end of this darn tunnel. Thankfully for me my lady Donna has not believed any of the crap that has been thrown our way in this matter. Boomer....who sez even the pygmies would not stoop so low as to prank me like this....and if they did there would be bloodshed.
-
Thanks 4T....It looks like I am going to expend a lot of time and effort to put an end to this crap before it happens again.

That is the most likely thing which is happening....The biggest question for me now remains WHY? Boomer.....who cannot be more depressed than he is now......
