    Most of the folks I know around here live in the Modular homes....and all are very happy with them. Years ago the Modulars were limited to being a 2 piece bolt together unit....the industry has come very far since then....size,shape,and floor plans can be whatever YOU order. They seem to hold a lot higher re-sale value in this area than do the double-wide Mobil homes. We don't have basements here in Loozeeanner so I can't attest as to how a Modular would do on that type of foundation....here they just set them on concrete slabs. Bottom line: If Momma ain't happy you're never going to be happy. Get the garage you want and let the wife plan the house. Boomer.....who sez a heated garage will keep the pygmies happy.

    To think you could ride a bike that has sat for so long over 800 miles is a bit too ambitious methinks. Play it safe and trailer it home. You won't regret the time and labor you put into the bike to make it truly roadworthy and safe. And....Welcome to the Venture Rider family! You won't find a better bunch of folks to ride with, party with, and raise h**l with I garontee. Boomer....who sez ya better check the scoot for pygmies before ya ride it like ya stole it.

    The upgrade to the HID from Canadian Cruiser was done on my Venture 18 months ago thanks to Brother Squidley. No issues whatsoever and the bulb is still going strong. Not only does it light up the road but the roadsides as well. I run high-beams during daylight hours but have to drop to low beam at night so as not to blind on-coming traffic. Boomer....who sez a set of aircraft landing lights might do de job too.

    Thought I would share this message I received in a e-mail a few minutes ago..... In October of 1863, just a few months after the bloodiest fighting of the Civil War at the Battle of Gettysburg, President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation setting aside the last Thursday of November “as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise.” His proclamation read in part, “In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict.” We celebrate Thanksgiving again this year with men and women, husband and wives, sons and daughters, engaged in battle and fighting for our freedom, not on the soil of this country but in distant lands far away from their friends, family and loved ones. On this day, set aside for giving thanks, we express our gratitude to the warriors who selflessly serve to protect our country and the American way of life. We express our gratitude to their families, who tirelessly support our Service members while their loved ones serve in harm’s way. And we express gratitude to those caregivers who willingly take on the monumental task of assisting our wounded, ill and injured Service members as they travel their own road to recovery. This holiday season we encourage you to express your own gratitude to our brave men and women in uniform, particularly our wounded warriors. Shake their hands in the airport, take a few minutes to listen to their extraordinary stories. Or, best of all, connect them to employment resources and opportunities that will help facilitate their smooth and productive reintegration to civilian life.     Donna has been baking all day today with help from a passel of grandkids. We are baking one turkey and I am frying a 25 pounder tomorrow....plus throwing 3 boneless pork loins and 20 pounds of venison sausage on de Bar-B-Q Pit. A huge pot of dirty rice will be done before bedtime tonight. Baked hams (3), side dishes,and desserts too many to mention will be coming in with relatives/friends in the AM. I set up 2 large 4x8 tables in the Living Room so we can set up all the food Buffet style. It's what has to be done when yer feeding 50+ adults and a bus load of younguns. Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow with family & friends!!! Boomer....who fully expects to jack up his cholesterol and blood pressure on Thanksgiving Day.....

    Paperwork and all fees have been paid for mah Passport....de Gubbermint folks say I should have it by the end of December. Brad if we do the Oberlin Run we just may end up being yer house guests for a couple of days and get to see some of your Country. Boomer.....who sez he's gonna cross de Border LEGALLY.
