Prior to the long trip do the routine maintenance such as oil/air/gas filter change outs along with fresh oil. Check all brake pads. Run SeaFoam on a regular basis with every tank of gas as well. Check your carbs for being in sync. Also double check tire pressures and tread depth. That's all I do with my Venture and then I ride it like I stole it and distance is no matter whatsoever. Boomer....who sez be prepared to see what those Harley riders experience and be courteous enuff to offer duct tape and sympathy....

Clock runs too fast
BoomerCPO replied to cabreco's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Running 3 hours fast may be the bikes way to get you to your destination so you can keep up with the 2nd Gens in a timely manner..... Boomer.....who sez this thread could lively real quick now.... -
I have travelled the world extensively and I have never seen a case where good old American greenbacks would not be welcomed by the locals. I'd be darn leery about using any credit card in a foreign country....and if I had to I would use them only through the local American Express office for whatever the situation called for. Local Banks will have currency exchange services available for a small exchange fee. Credit cards for absolute emergency use only IMHO. Boomer....who sez don't drink the water or mixed drinks wit Mexican ice cubes....the "end" result could pooch up yer vacation in a way dat is not enjoyable.....

Have a great day Kreg....and hope the night will be better.... Boomer.....who sez the pygmies are doing a happy dance just fer you.

To the best of my knowledge iTunes will only download to Apple iPod's. WalMart has the programs for downloading music to MP3's. Boomer....who sez moosic soothes de savage beast and rowdy pygmies too.

I bought my Garmin 4 years ago when still living in Connecticut. Used it for riding throughout Noo England doing Patriot Guard Missions. 2 years ago I drove down here to Louisiana with NO problems whatsoever when it came to road directions. I have used the same Garmin for the last 2 years riding all over La, Texas,Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, and Arkansas....All done with NO UPDATES done to the Garmin. Boomer....who sez roads don't change much once they are put down....and the $$$ spent fer GPS Updates iz better spent at Dairy Queen.

"Fixation" is something all we riders should be aware of at all times when riding. I avoid fixation by reminding myself that the bike will go where I am looking....that works for me anyhow.... Boomer....who sez looking at a Dairy Queen will get me into a Dairy Queen too....

Just do what most of the 1st Genner's do....Leave the bike in the garage on rainy days and just talk about riding in the rain with the 2nd Genner's..... Boomer.....who sez this post is merely a "Alertness Test" for Yammer Dan...

I agree BUT he did have the position for the whole game. ps: The word going around down heah is that the LSU Alumni (LSU's big money contributors) is raising some H*LL over the Coach's decision to leave that CLOWN Jefferson in for the 2nd half....
-
The LSU Offense can be a powerful engine when the correct spark is provided....For the Alabama game they were supplied with a FOULED spark plug in the form of a wannabe QB.....and a Coach who seemed more concerned about the details of a post-game party..... Boomer.....who gives a tip of the hat to Bama for playing football.

I'll put my name in the hat for this deal. My windshield is in really poor shape because.... like Kbran.... it is subject to a lot of wear/tear from the Loozeeanner conditions. One condition on this for me tho....If it turns out that my buddy Squid needs a windshield for his Venture I'd gladly give the windshield to him for his scoot. Boomer....who sez he kin trade off 6 or so pygmies on this deal too....

Can the 12V ACC plug (located on the left inside of the front fairing of my 06 Venture) handle powering up my GPS and a Roady2 satellite radio? Boomer....who sez thanks in advance for any responses.

I am soooooo glad I turned down a set of tickets for this game.....Partying on Bourbon Street with a load of Alabama fans could have been fun tho..... Boomer....who sez he lives for dem shrimp and oyster Po-Boys....
-
A PeeWee football team could have hammered the LSU offense.... Boomer....who sez KUDO to de Alabama Red Tide.
-
Alabama dominated LSU and outplayed them for sure. If not for the LSU defense Alabama would have racked up a triple didget score. What I have to say about the LSU Coach and QB Jefferson would get me banned from here if I posted it.

As a former LEO I can honestly state that an Officer has the "discretion factor" when it comes to his actions at MV stops. This alone has a large impact on just what the Officer does. Boomer....who sez more than one doofus he has pulled over has "talked" his way into something more than a mere verbal or written warning....and some even warranted having to wear special jewelry...ie: handcuffs.

What is this plug??
BoomerCPO replied to Squidley's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Brad....Dat plug is fer an optional Alarm System which tells de 1st Gen rider when a piece of tupperware falls off de scoot. Boomer....who sez don't blame me cuz I don't own one of dem fancified warshing machines dat sounds like a constipated Singer sewing maching going down de road.... -
Glad you made it home safely!! Donna and I got caught in one heck of a hail storm on I-10 near Jennings,La. about 6 months ago. By the time we got to the next exit it had turned into rain and we made it to a gas station and shelter. As I recall it took 3 cups of coffee to get my pucker factor back down to zero..... Boomer....who sez he could hear the hail bouncing off de pygmies heads and dere wuz a whole lotta cussin going on too.....
-
Thanks for the gifts of friendship, good health, and great times this past year. Boomer....who sez don't blame me for the pygmies who snuck onto yer sled last night when ya visited Loozeeanner.

I buy 2 Powerball tickets w/Powerplay each week. Not that I need that kind of money mind you....BUT....if I ever hit the big one there's a list I have of family/friends who will never have to work another day of their life. Boomer....who sez ya can't win if ya don't play....and sending all the pygmies onna one-way Cruise to Alaska sounds purty good too.

BoomerCPO replied to Squidley's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
This latest update on Ponch is the best Christmas present I could hope for!! Give it hell Ponch....the prayers and good thoughts continue to be sent. Boomer....who sez the pygmies have calmed down quite a bit with this daily prayer routine I have them doing... -
You guys up North need to buy a LOT of SUNLAMPS..... Boomer....who sez Christmas is de time fer eating, drinkin, and raising hell...
