    I'm retired as well. We have been very busy with house renovations for the past 6 months tho. Despite all the mundane house stuff Donna and I still manage to ride the scoot, enjoy lunch stops together, and generally really enjoy being together in all ways. We make time for ourselves....and.... I wear a watch only to remind me of lunch time.... Boomer....who sez ya don't have to be rich to enjoy retirement...Just be with the one you love and surround yerself with solid friends. P.S. Hang in dere Owen cuz retirement will come soon enuff for you my friend!!

    I gave up on those covers years ago when Jeff Brown was selling them via his Twister's PGR Store. For the past 5 years I have been using gray gun socks that I bought on sale at Bass Pro (and Cavalla's sells them too). Boomer.....who sez dem gun socks will stand up to 80mph speeds wit no problems.

    Motorcycles are subject to various degrees of vibration dependent upon the make/model. Make it a habit to check all fasteners every time you wash/wax the scoot. It's a habit worthy of developing and will bode you well when you are out riding. Boomer....who sez pygmies with allen wrenches deserve immediate execution.

    Joining the Patriot Guard in 2004 was the best thing I ever did for myself in coping with PTSD. As a Nam Vet I long ago gave up on this Country doing anything for me....but the important thing to me is that no returning Warrior (dead or alive) is ignored or treated with disrespect. With every Mission (450+ now) I give back to those who are serving today and I do it with RESPECT. Boomer...who has always said "I will stand with the Patriot Guard until the Patriot Guard stands for me."

    The owner of Red Jacket Firearms (in Baton Rouge) custom built a AR-15 for the Combat Vets of Louisiana. Our intent is to Raffle this beauty off at the Great Southern Rally later on this month. All tickets sold out weeks ago. Our guys showed up today to pay/take delivery of the weapon....Will refused payment and donated the weapon to us. This means the La CVMA can donate $1500.00 more to our Veterans Home instead of paying for this tricked out AR-15. Boomer....who sez Red Jacket Firearms iz de cat's meow for their generosity.

    Yesterday I attended a PGR Mission in Jennings,La. It was an Escort for a fallen Hero from the Lake Charles Airport to the Funeral Home in Jennings,La. After completion I left the Funeral Home in Jennings and headed out to I-10 West to come home. There were 3 Sheriff's Department Motor Officer's on their Harley's just ahead of me on the secondary road to I-10. One of the Officer's dropped back and asked me if I'd care to ride with them to Lake Charles. He said " We are going to roll hard so if you think you can keep up your are welcomed to ride with us". Of course I accepted...... Once on I-10 we cruised at a speed of 90-95mph(and yes we passed a whole passel of Combat Vet riders:)) and I was riding side by side with the 3rd Officer and we were in a tight riding formation. I could hear the Harley's really working at the speed we were travelling. As we approached Lake Charles I pulled abreast of the 2 lead Officer's and gave them the high sign....then I rolled on the throttle hard and took off. I saw jaws drop as the Venture took off.....I saw them all pull off for the LC Exit and that's when I dropped my speed down to the legal limit. It was a sweet ride that lasted for nearly 40 miles. Boomer....who sez he's gotta get Sheriff decals and some blue lights for the Venture....
