Well I had mitigating circumstances for doing the ride.....I don't know anyone who would pick up a new bike and NOT hit the road with it as I did. The thought of just bringing the bike straight home and parking it in the garage would bring me to tears I tell ya. Anyhoo.....the ride was sweet and nobody can erase my memory of it. ps: I'm an OF and proud of it.....and I never trust a fart either.

I cheated and wore fleece-lined jeans,a snowmobile suit, and my heavy leather jacket. I also wore a full-face helmet with face shield. I didn't get cold but I wasn't sweating either. The set-up on the bike kept most of the wind off of me and that made a big difference it seems. I'll get the wife to take some pics of the bike and get them into my Photo Album here as soon as I can. Ride safe all............Boomer

The Owner's Manual lays out a good maintenance plan. Doing the general stuff yourself is an excellent way to save money and learn the mechanics of your bike IMHO. Good luck and don't be a skeered of them wrenches. Regards.....Boomer

Despite 26 degree temp.....Took delivery of my RSV this morning; did my pre-ride checks of the bike; and hit the road. Put 350 miles on her today and it was a sweet ride I tell ya! I am very impressed with the handling and power of this RSV. It meets all of my expectations and then some. Now I get to spend the next 2 months cussing our Winter weather here and doing the "wax on-wax off" routine with the bike. C'mon Spring...... Ride safe all......Regards....Boomer

In honor of Leslie for ‘All’ our beloved fallen...

I'll be glad to help out in getting the PGR behind this. I hate to say they won't but that is a distinct possibility simply due to the Missions being priority 1. Remember also that many PGR members take days off from work just to do the Missions and many just may be reluctant to take that day off during the week to roll with this. If National,Regional, and State Captains want PGR on this the odds are that many PGR members will ride for this worthy cause. Regards.....Boomer- 29 replies

Pay Attention to your Suspension Air Pressure!
BoomerCPO replied to V7Goose's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks for the response. There is so much info to learn about this bike it amazes me. This is my 1st full Touring bike and I'm really looking forward to the start of riding season here in the frozen Northeast. Regards.....Boomer -
Pay Attention to your Suspension Air Pressure!
BoomerCPO replied to V7Goose's topic in Watering Hole
This is probably a stupid question but won't running the front shocks with 0 pressure effect the handling of the bike in tight turns? -
Suicide bike.... plain and simple.........

Thanks 1rooster.....I have found exactly what I was looking for and have already ordered the hitch for the bike. My Flag holder (for 2 Flags) will be fabbed out of stainless as well. Regards......Boomer

I have looked at pics everywhere on this Site and I have failed to find even 1 RSV that has Flag mounts capable of holding 2 3'x5' Flags for Parade or Funeral Escort use. I have been with the Patriot Guards for quite a while and I would love to be able to fly my 3'x5' Flags from my soon-to-be acquired 2006 RSV. If anyone can offer help regarding this please do so as soon as possible. Inclement weather riding does not bother me when it comes to PGR Missions for our fallen Hero's. Mods....If I posted this in the wrong place please feel free to re-locate this post to where it should be. My thanks in advance!

Bike kicked, brackets bent - what is with people today?
BoomerCPO replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Too many people today do not respect themselves or their own property........expecting them to respect other folks property is simply not PC I suppose......Grrrrrrrrrr.......... And for the violators I'll simply let this picture speak for itself. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/206549/american-justice.jpg -
Good observation regarding group rides! This past riding season I did a lot of them with a local motorcycle club I joined. By the end of the season I came to the conclusion that it was more fun just riding around with 2-3 friends rather than a pack of 50. Lucky for me that I have at least 6 riding friends who feel the same way about group riding.

To me a good ride is spending the entire day on the bike. I have been known to do 500 miles in a day....well perhaps a bit more because I get lost so easily.

Look at how many bikes get trailered to Sturgis every year! Perhaps the folks that trailer their bikes are trying to keep the mileage down for a better trade-in value on their bikes? Danged if I can figger it out.....I'm too busy RIDING!
