You can spot an engineer a mile away.....If the sign on the door sez PULL they are the one's who PUSH.......

Keech it is way too early for me to determine if I can make the National in SD. Offhand I'd say heck yes BUT offhand doesn't quite make it carved in stone. I have to get past the Run For The Wall first..... Welcome Home Brother! Regards.....Boomer...CVMA#2014

Thanks Bubba I appreciate your offer very much. I like the idea of being able to put the trunk back on the bike when needed! My wife won't get onna motorcycle for all the tea in China but that's ok by me. She has her interests and I have mine....we have been together for nearly 25 years now....happily together I might add. ps: When you get the time I surely would appreciate the details of the modifications.....I'd rather spend the Winter months doing the mods than the wax on- wax off routine! Regards.....Boomer

Amen to all that! Drool............

Hey firewalker don't take my post as being negative towards any Star Riders. I surely did not mean it to come across that way! Regardless of Club affiliation/brand of motorcycle I always respect other riders.....keeping in mind that respect is a two way street IMHO. No disrespect meant! Regards......Boomer....who will now go lay down by his dish and be quiet for a while.

In honor of Leslie for ‘All’ our beloved fallen...

One big obstacle that I can see to all of this happening.....the Liberal Media provides little to no positive coverage to motorcycle events regardless of the cause or reason to ride......a lot of money will have to be spent to get paid advertising IMHO. Monetary donations will have to be worked into the overall scheme of things methinks.- 29 replies

I have met several Star Touring members by way of Patriot Guard Missions. My problem with that particular organization is that they restrict what you can wear on your riding vest once you put their back patch on. Liked all the members I have met but I don't let anyone tell me what I can or cannot put on my riding vest.

I like the Starglide look. I very seldom have a passenger on my Venture so taking the Cargo trunk and changing out the passenger seat would not be a big thing.Looks like a different luggage rack and sissy bar is in order too. Oh decisions,decisions........

Well good on you pal! And as for the closet thingy......I just wish I had a closet big enuff to keep my bike in for the Winter. Hooching out to the garage is a PITA sometimes!

Do it right.....Give her a GPS installed on a NEW Venture!

Very simple. Go to the PGR Site;Register;then go to your particular State Forum and locate your State Captain. Notify him/her that you wish to be placed on the PGR E-mail Alert List. The State Captains use this Alert List to notify all members Statewide whenever a Confirmed Mission is pending and provide Staging Area Info and all Mission Itinerary. About the PGR....There are NO dues,Meetings,etc... If you can roll on any given Mission then fine. No one will berate you for not doing a Mission. We all do what we can and when we can. Ride safe and God bless.......Boomer ps: I put the extra info here just in case anyone else wants the info in order to join the PGR.

You are correct about the paperwork....and now they require pictures as well to prove that you have made all the ride points! I doubt if I will go for it. I enjoy my pleasure riding plus doing PGR Missions. Between those two I get more than enough miles to keep me happy.

This Site is addictive! After checking my e-mails I come right here to read the latest posts. I am far from being an "expert" on my Midnight Venture but I'm learning a heck of a lot here. Regards.....Boomer

Ride,ride,ride......a few rest stops for ice cream/water de bushes......ride,ride,ride! btw: More than a few friends of mine are urging me to become a member of the Ironbutt Riders.......

When it comes to such a critical safety item as brakes I always go with the best regardless of cost.....and that logic applies to all of my vehicles as well as my bike. Your mileage may vary.....

Build it and they will buy it I suppose. Not my cup of tea but the darn thing sure is an eye-catcher.

The Patriot Guard Riders have what is known as a Red-White-Blue Book which is a listing of PGR members in every State which can be called if you need roadside assistance. Don't know if something like this exists for Venture riders but the idea is certainly doable IMHO.

My preference is to depend upon trusted friends who have a truck/trailer to come and get me should the bike become disabled. I have a truck/trailer as well and I have no qualms about hitting the road to go help a friend who is broken down on the roadside.

Just this past summer I rode 80 miles (one way) for a Meet-Greet-Eat to welcome Jeff Brown aka Twister/PGR upon his visit to our State. After meeting the man I realized I'd drive 500 miles one way just to shake his hand.

It's gonna take a lot more than a TV commercial to convince me to spend my money on a Harley......

There is one great feature about steel-toed boots.....When you have to plant yer boot to the posterior of a doofus who deserves it the boot does prevent bruising of yer delicate toes. Nuff said......
