A Metric Tap and Die set will work hopefully. Use the proper tap in the hole and use the proper die to cleanup/chase the threads on the oil bolt. After this you can try wrapping the bolt with a bit of teflon tape when you re-install the bolt. If this does not stop the leak you may want to consider getting a new oil pan and bolt. Just my 2 cents..........

Two sets of golf clubs equals about the same as 4 cases of beer.........not a tough choice with me as to which I'd druther haul behind the scoot.........

Has anyone had to run over truck tire?
BoomerCPO replied to roadwarrior's topic in Safety and Education
2 years ago on I-95 (near New Haven Ct.) I saw a 18 wheeler tire let go just as a biker was passing the truck. Knocked the poor guy right off his scoot. It was not a pretty sight......and yes it killed the guy. I refuse to pass an 18 wheeler to this day....and it don't matter what I am driving.- 20 replies

I have read enough horror stories about Metzler MC tires to convince me that I would not put a set of them on anything; including a wheelbarrow.....even if they were offered free!!
-
Not to mention being bad luck for RSV riders!!

Check out Milwaukee Boots.........lots of good looking styles for MC boots and the prices are very reasonable. I have been wearing their boots for over 12 years now and never got a bad set. They feel like they are broken in right out of the box too.

I have spoken with many Trike riders who ride with the Patriot Guard Riders. I have not met one who regretted the decision to go with a Trike. Do your research carefully regarding all make/models that are available. Ride as many as possible and trust your instincts when it comes to making YOUR choice. Good luck and happy hunting! Ride safe. Regards..........Boomer

Royal Star Venture question
BoomerCPO replied to raceman62race's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Yep..........Something else to break when ya drop the bike....... -
Yep.....and my vote of confidence goes to Rick Butler.

Can't argue with that...............

I don't know whether your scoot has carbs or is fuel injected..... but regardless.... Seafoam is a good bet. It will condition the gas and keep your gas tank spotless to boot. Here in New England we pay about $8 a can and it is worth every penny.

The Goldwing Trike is the only scoot I would give up my Venture for at this point in time. If Yamaha produces a 3rd Gen Venture with decent upgrades and styling I will buy one in 2010.......If not then I will be looking to obtain the Goldwing Trike. I have tried several Goldwings in the past year and there is simply not enough leg room for me.......Grrrrrrr.

I would be perfectly happy to see LESS Government intervention in our lives. Don't need nor want a handout from the Government. Remember that for everything the Government gives you they invariably takes something away from YOU.

Since my mishap on 26 July I have been healing and my Midnight Venture has been in the Shop. The Dealer called me this afternoon to inform me that the bike is now complete! Tomorrow the Service Manager will be making the plan to trailer my scoot home to me. They are roughly 2 hours away from me and making the delivery free of charge. I have my fingers crossed for a Monday or Tuesday delivery. I can't wait to take her out on the road again.....

Has anyone tried JB Weld on these exhaust system joints? I have seen this stuff hold up excellent on tractor exhaust systems.

Leveling Links - warranty issue?
BoomerCPO replied to Smith's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I was considering going with the leveling links on my 06. My Dealer readily agreed to install them and there was no issue with the overall Warranty. I suggest you speak to your Dealer regarding the Warranty issue. Not all the Dealers are on the same page when it comes to the Venture Warranty. -
Hi all........I just obtained a CLYMER MANUAL (M374) for YAMAHA ROYAL STAR 1996-2003. Is this Manual applicable to my 2006 Midnight Venture? If it is not then I will be glad to donate this Manual to anyone here who needs it.....and I will cover shipping charges too. Regards and respect.........Boomer
